i voted season 2!!! s1 is objectively the best but s2 is my favorite, i liked when it got all serious and angsty and dramatic near the end of the season. while there were some parts of s3 i liked, the issues with it were too big for me to say i enjoyed it as a whole. i liked like 2 episodes from it but i won’t be returning to the others. meanwhile s2 had lavender rainbow carol of the bells man city no weddings inverting the pyramid… i even liked headspace and BAH, more than i liked most of the s3 episodes anyway.

i would be curious to see if there’s a difference between the rj/rjks and non-rj/rjks. i feel like royjamie was really the only ship that won s3 so it makes sense to me that all the people voting s3 (or at least all the ones in your askbox) seem to be doing so bc of the rjk content. which is totally valid! but i’d be curious to see how much the s2/s3 division aligns with the rj shipper / non rj shipper division.

very very fair!! And I think you're definitely on to something in terms of rj/rjk fans liking season 3 more than most other people. I also think beyond the ships, the individual characters people prefer have an influence over which season they like best. Like, s3 was clearly Jamie's biggest season, so of course I love it for that reason. I also largely loved what they did with Roy. I have such a better understanding of him as an individual after this season and I think they fleshed both him and Jamie out so much even beyond me shipping them. Whereas my biggest hurdles with the season all have to do with Keeley's storyline (there were good concepts there, but an overall poor execution imo. They did her dirty & that is what is hardest for me to forgive!) Similarly, I think people who love Colin the most loved s3, but people who love Sam most probably prefer s2, you know? Obviously other ships play a role too, as to why many ted x rebecca & roy x keeley shippers hated s3 and likely prefer s2 etc.

I wish I could come up with a simple way to make a poll limited to 10 options more nuanced for the survey, but alas! I think just separating it into rj versus non rj shippers would still be too simplistic because the other ships influence their fans just as much? Idk! If someone comes up with a way to poll it please make it and then tag me so I can vote!! Or just go vote in my poll and reblog it even if you aren't a rj/rjk shipper to get it into different circles of the fandom!!!
