usually these type of songs arent up chishiya’s style but he has them liked because you enjoy them, and he has grown quite fond of them; something he wont admit. he listens to them so he can hum to them along with you, sing them with you (which is mainly him whispering the lyrics to hear you sing), and maybe even serenade you to sleep on rough days he cant sleep himself. this song is something that was so welcoming yet so you, when he first listened to it he could imagine you dancing singing this song all across your apartment that he spent so much time at. the comfort of your home that became his comfort. this song reminded him of all the times you guys were having a clean day and the blinds were open and you used the broom as a fake mic doing a fake concert infront of chishiya, dances, singing, even dragging him into it. he hrown to be quite found of it.

kinda funny because the getaway car the two of you were supposed to get in with ann kuina and them ended up leaving cause of the grenade on the floor. but in seriousness this song was one of the first songs you played when you were chishiya. he wasnt really fan of mainstream pop but this song felt something and done something to him to him that he couldn’t even describe. he would always put this song on whenever he is with you, belting your heart out to this song could always bring a smile to his face. “Think about the first time where you met me” oh he always does and he thanks he went there to that cafe that day. he just wishes you never were here in this hell of a hole with him.

he never got this song but the more he listened and watched your face light up whenever it came on, holding his hand pulling him closer to you made him understand how great this song was to you. it had such a early morning vibe that this song he would make sure to play to lift your spirits in the morning on his ipod in the boderlands. he made sure to get every song he could remember and that was enough for you to just love him.

Oh gosh the amount of times you played this to cheer yourself up was unthinkable. you would belt the lyrics to chishiya never breaking eye contact. you can tell he enjoyed it. the harsh games were so draining for the both of you, even when he had the whole plane to betray usagi and arisu. chishiya knew the song but didn’t know it like you do. “Horrified looks from everyone in the room but i’m only looking at you.” was it crazy to say he was only looking at you when he got all the looks from arisu and usagi hell even niragi. oh god maybe he was deeper in love with you than he thought.

there was something about this song, you didnt have this song in your playlist or anything but he heard it once from your phone and he had to add it. the gracefulness about this song was you, the lyrics was you, the confession was you. when he told tou he loved you for the first time this was the song that played. the song that played before you two were in this hell hole of boderlands was this song, and the song the two will listen to first after getting out is this song. he learned the meaning of love from you and this song.

“Ill be the love of your life inside your head” you were always his love his life. he always knew you found his soulmate, he knew no matter what he wanted you, he always knew you were perfect for him and how he was perfect for you. the two of you had been together since your 20’s and the fact its called 21 is funny because thats when he really did in fact tell you he loved you. thats when he really did lay down his feelings for you. thats really when he always found himself dreaming and loving you, sometimes he cant help but listen to this song and think of all the ways to get you out of the boderlands safely even if that meant he had to die. “Lights in and its black and white, I couldn’t stay forever”

this was your favorite song. this sing was the song you would always post chishiya and yourself to on social media, though chishiya was never a big social media he had it for you, he did everything he wouldnt do for you. this song wouldve never crossed his mind but for you it did. he hated it. he hated how you corrupted his brain, he hated how you corrupted his music taste. he hated the fact you took the gunshot from niragi. he hated that even in your last breathes you still smiled humming this melody to him hand placed on his cheek creasing it like the two of you were in the real world laying down in bed embracing eachothers presences. all the pain and suffering he went through he hated it, he wished to forget and to forget about your death he did. having to face the truth once he woke up from that crude world into the real empty one without you.

my opinion on niragi and his controversy with chishiya/dynamics between them

introduction

wssup tumblr, welcome to my opinionated and probably overthought rant. todays rant is on niragi suguru and chishiya shuntarou from the hit series alice in borderland - based off the netflix vers. why? cause my ass has not gotten the manga yet; so all i can scrap is scenes from netflix and knowledge on character creation. 

so dont come at me if this is not accurate to the aib manga, i can assure that i will probably update this post or make a new one once i have bought and read the manga. time to start

opinions on niragi ; character, backstory, actions and final opinion 

we all know niragi is a narcissistic, self absorbed and of course, proclaimed psychopath by aib fans. hes confirmed a sex offender at the least, and he views everyone he believes to be below him as an object he can do anything to. this is proven in both season one and season two; he attempted to rape usagi not one but two times throughout both seasons- niragi assures he gets what he wants through violence and threats. 

narcissism - character  this narcissism and desire to get what he wants really shows near the end of season one, where hatter is announced dead. niragi uses his weapon as a tool to threaten people into voting aguni as the new leader of the beach, as he also pairs up with last boss. this provides some solid evidence of his narcissistic element, not to mention his cruelty towards everyone else. for example, in season two, when he crosses paths with someone who had failed their suicide, he acts as if he is going to put them out of their misery. however, he grabs the gun just to walk away, saying how they can suffer. 

psychopath - character this brings me to his psychopathic side. if you do your research, youd know nirgai lines up with the symptoms of being a psychopath. if you didnt know; - narcissism [rightfully proven] - lack of guilt : he does not feel any remorse for what he has done to other people, no matter how many innocent lives he ends or what pain he causes. he does not care as long as it benefits him.  - aggressive and reckless behaviour : this follows up with the explanation on his narcissism and lack of guilt.  these are just some symptoms, but theyre definitely some major ones of his.

backstory lets talk about his backstory. from a flashback on the top of the roof during witch-hunt / 10 of hearts in season one, we can see he was not treated fairly at all. he was used as a target by his peers, being forced to stay still against a wall while students [assuming they are the same age as him] threw baseballs at him. said classmates counted 'points’ depending on where on his body they striked him. to add onto this already fucked up situation, he had been told if he didnt stand still he'd be forced to eat rice with piss in it. this is just one scene, but who knows how many other things had happened to this man before borderland.   he says he doesnt know if he became twisted because they hated him, or if they hated him because he was twisted. if niragi had been twisted during that time, he probably would've fought back, but this cant be confirmed for sure considering his persona between borderland and the little we know about him in the real world cant be compared and contrasted as well as it could be with more evidence. 

actions now, im not saying his backstory excuses his actions. his past is no reason for him to attempt to rape [and he probably has successfully done this before to other characters] usagi and the amount of other fucked up things he had done. lets think about this for a moment; putting the rape aside and moving to the crimes he had committed involving murder, just put it into perspective. theyre in a world with no laws. theres obviously more people out there like him killing people just for the fun of it, or even to eliminate them from getting in the way. similar to how in solitary confinement, the girl with the blue dress (i cannot remember her name) plays queen bee and manipulates the group into lying to other players to kill them. for players like her and niragi, borderland is just another word for doing whatever the hell you want, especially murder. we see it everywhere in alice in borderland, even in the rest of the militia. the only action left would be his rape, which cannot be justified. 

final opinion here are my final thoughts on niragi as a character; hes not the best person ever, but its also not his fault hes such a horrible person. the way he was treated for probably most of his life probably really changed his personality and morals. once again guys, i dont justify him assaulting and/or raping people. i say hes a complex character and deserves more recognition and attention rather than always been viewed as this extremely evil guy from the inside out. even when at the end of season two, he was found in the hospital bed next to chishiya, he actually seemed like a normal and decent human being. however, this is obviously my opinion. tell me what you guys think! at the end of the day though, hes probably just an insecure, scared little boy always trying to validate himself and prove himself as a villain. he seeks the validation of being known above others, being able to feel better about himself through this. he has a huge superiority complex.

edit: another point about him being with chishiya in the hospital- when chishiya says he is going to turn his life around, niragi asks something along the lines of “you were a piece of shit too, huh?” he acknowledges his actions, and he knows what he did. 

dynamic with chishiya- controversy around their relationship 

and time for the most controversial part of this entire rant; niragi and chishiya. whats with their dynamic, and what can i say about it based on my speculations on niragi? taking into consideration what type of character chishiya is, it would and wouldnt work if they were dating. 

they definitely had some sexual tension [obv referring to the netflix series, if they had anything in the mangas lmk], and it was even confirmed by the actors. i believe the translation was that they had kissed in an unreleased part of the show, but they took out the scene. shocker. even if the kiss had been a mistranslated, the sexual tension still gives us enough of an idea. the reunition of chishiya and niragi but not chishiya and kuina also might say something about their relationship, or whether they knew eachother in the real world or not.  we know they dont have any memory of borderland, as proven from arisu and usagi meeting again, so what was the purpose of that? 

i dont really have much to say about the idea of them having a relationship; im cool with it, and it's gotten me interested with their personality dynamic. what do you guys think? this concludes my rant. thank you all for listening!! if theres anything else you would like to see me cover in the aib series, lmk. until next time. <3

Can I talk about how Shibuki was never mentioned again in the adaption? Like, as far as I can remember, not even a memory of her appearing after episode 3? Literally what was that??

In the manga she was apart of the friend group too. She was mentioned whenever Arisu was thinking about his friends! And she didn't even have to get dragged by Chota in the manga! It's so clear that the writers hate women and love to demonize them

the only people who adap Arisu ever seemed to care about were Karube and Chota-- which not only wrecks his character, but also makes him seem as selfish as Chishiya and Niragi imo.

like what about Shibuki? what about Asahi? Tatta? Kyuuma?

just because he didn't know any of them pre-borderlands doesnt make them any less important.

like that should've been the conflict during the shootout, if anything: Arisu is so focused on his friends that he takes everyone else for granted, which is why Niragi calls him selfish.

but focusing on Shibuki specifically, she clearly wanted to be there for Arisu-- see episode two. but also in episode two, they made her like, groom?? Chota?? into sleeping with her???

like that was HER vunerable moment, not Chota's. her sleeping with him was the way she knew how to connect with him bc she saw herself in him, and didn't know any other way to get closer with him. but that wasn't even demonized when Chota told everyone they had sex.

the same shit happened with Heiya too.

i don't think Usagi really counts here bc she slept with a main main character (who is a man), didn't initiate and obviously women only exist for men's pleasure. women cant enjoy s-s-s eX!!!!😭😭😭😭😭 THATS WIRRRD!@!*@&@!*@

but yeah, I really hated how they handled Shibuki (and every other female character for that matter). she deserves so much better.

Kuina and chishiya were back at the beach. They were at the pool, and talking about something. “I have, about, maybe like 8 days left? Yeah 8.” Chishiya said. “I have 10, because i went yesterday to add on to it.” She replied. Chishiya nodded. “So, i w-” Chishiya started, but he felt something touch his waist. “Niragi- if youre trying to scare me, for the last time, it wont-” he started, but when he turned around, it wasnt niragi. It was some guy, who looked quite tall, with short, black hair. It was one of the militants. Chishiya hated those guys, (with an exception of niragi) always had their nose in the air, thinking they looked cool, when they were really just some people with guns that they technically couldnt even fire with if they werent in a game. “What do you want now.” Chishiya said, glaring at the man. “Look, i know niragi hates you and stuff,” the dense little sh.t started. “He doesnt.” Chishiya said. “Ok, whatever, i know agni doesnt take a liking to you,” he started again, but chishiya just rolled his eyes. Agni didnt hate him, they just didnt talk. “But that doesnt mean we cant have fun.” The ugly a.s dense guy said. “F.ck off.” Kuina said, standing up. The guy looked at chishiya, and raised an eyebrow. Chishiya shrugged when the guy looked at him. “Did you miss the part where she had said ‘f.ck off’?” Chishiya asked. The man just rolled his eyes. “F.ck off!” Chishiya yelled in the mans ear, just for good measure. “Fine, geez, no need to overreact.” The man said, walking away. “Overreact, my a.s.” Kuina said, rolling her eyes.  Kuzuryu was the wolf, and was fighting somebody while looking down. He didnt hide, as he found it would be unfair to everyone else, and there was 2 minutes left. The guy he was fighting threw a punch, and it hit kuzuryu in his side. It didnt really hurt, though. When the man was distracted, he ran. Kuzuryu didnt find heart games particularly difficult, as he had nothing to lose. Well, that was a lie, he had chishiya to lose. But, thankfully, chishiya wasnt there. He heard footsteps chasing after him, but he knew he had already one. The timer went down: 3, 2, 1. He heard a splattering sound behind him, and knew what had happened. He left the place quickly, and drove back.

When he got back, chishiya was waiting there for him. Chishiya ran up to kuzuryu and gave him a hug, a little squeeze. “What game were you in?” Chishiya asked, checking kuzuryu to make sure he was okay. “Hearts, it was hide n seek.” He said, relaxing his shoulders. “Oh, well, was it bad?” Chishiya asked. “No, it was fine.” “Okay.”  Kuina, kuzuryu, and chishiya were all in kuzuryus room. “It was kinda sad, honestly.” Kuina said. They were talking about their job, or what they were doing before borderland. Kuina was talking to someone who wanted the shirt they had in a baby size, after kuina told them that a shop for baby clothes would be the way to go. “The food today really didnt look good.” Chishiya said to kuzuryu, walking down the corridor. “No, it didnt.” Kuzuryu laughed. Kuzuryu stopped in his tracks. Chishiya noticed, so he stopped aswell. “Mm?” Chishiya said, turning around. “Shiya?” Kuzuryu said, in a soft voice. “Whats up.” Chishiya replied. “Uhm, you remember what i said, about, me never not being there?” Kuzuryu asked. “Yeah?” Chishiya answered. “Uh, well, thats kinda not true.” Kuzuryu said. “Oh, i know! Dont worry, i wont always be here either, but im sure itll be a while!” Chishiya said, his mouth faltered at the end, but not going into a full smile. Kuzuryu nodded. It hurt kuzuryu, sure, but he didnt want to lie to chishiya. This is an a/n, im sorry for the even shorter chapter, but i swear on my left pinky toe, that the last chapter will be longer than the this. -insecure
