😔 my honest answer is a solid Maybe. i remember echoes came out of nowhere at the time, and it was later revealed in developer interviews that it was conceived of as like an "in between" project for the staff to release while their next big-budget title was in development (three houses); so it's possible they could take the same approach to an fe4 remake. and I think it's possible sigurd being played up in engage and feh in recent years is building up to it, but I think it's equally possible the fe fanbase is just desperate ghdgfhj

my main concern is like... fe4 is a game that would unequivocally benefit from being remade with a loving hand, it's an ambitious title that would thrive on newer hardware with prettier graphics (as much as I love the mold-crusted fe4 sprites). I would kill to see seliph's story fully fleshed out with the care and nuance of a writing team that understands him beyond "something something softboy... something something uncritical filial piety". but it's very much up in the air how faithful to or even understanding of fe4's themes a prospective remake with FE's current writing staff would be, if that makes sense

tl;dr im cautiously optimistic 🤭 if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen, the original fe4's still fun, ripe for analysis and easy to emulate. if it happens and the remake is Bad I trust in our collective ability as a fanbase to gaslight ourselves into believing it was good the whole time o7
