I was so neutral on huntlow because. Hunter's been through hell and back with trauma and it would have been so refreshing to see a guy and a girl be best friends for once in a show without romance. why do huntlow shippers act like not liking it because of that makes you demonspawn

listen. the show inarguably goes for realism when it tackles themes that are darker subtextually than they appear on the surface, like abuse, or neglect, or ptsd/mental illness. AS IT SHOULD! so with that in mind im going to be completely candid and speak from experience: getting into a relationship after youve been exposed to an extremely abusive dynamic in your most formative years (child to young teen, which hunter is) is the worst thing you could possibly do. putting someone like hunter in a romantic relationship when he only just recently got a support group and is working through that trauma is not ideal. that is why i personally do not like huntlow.

i love them as friends!!!! i think willow is extremely supportive and they obviously care for each other. i just do not see how, especially after the most recent and horrific trauma inflicted on hunter, they could possibly make that relationship seem healthy, realistic, or feasible until hunter is explicitly shown to be working through his ptsd. I do not want Willow to be his therapist; its not healthy for either of them. BUT THATS ME! THAT IS ONE SMALL BEARS OPINION BASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND MY OWN UNIQUE FRAME OF REFERENCE!

all that being said im not gonna harass huntlow artists, and I expected the same from the huntlow shippers to not come after people who don't ship it. I know the majority of this fanbase are children, its a (arguably, given some more nuanced aspects of the shows themes) kids show. I'm not going to argue with anyone because i always automtically assume theyre fuckin 14. But I will say, it's disappointing to see this much vitriol towards people who (looks at writing on hand) dont ship fictional teenagers...? all my personal opinions aside, have we forgotten this show, at its core, IS NOT ABOUT SHIPPING?

Just be fucking nice to people good lord. Let huntlowers ship huntlow and let people who don't enjoy these characters as besties. boom. youd think that would be common sense.
