okay my ranking of born pink
Rose popped off so hard
1) happiest girl is such a beautiful song, and I love hearing the girls’ vocals
2) yeah yeah yeah is my type of song, it’s the kind of song I’m into and I really love it (as if it’s your last is my favorite Blackpink song so that may be why)
3) Hard to Love (Rose’s voice is so beautiful. This song (lyrically) sounds like something the TikTok girlies push out these days and I don’t mind it, but I really like the guitar thing going on, it adds a lot more to the song)
4) Typa Girl (I know I will get critique for how low this is but I really really like this song but I can’t get the melody of Lisa’s Money out of my head. Besides that I really like it, but the first three are just more my type of song)
5) Shut Down
6) Tally
7) Pink Venom
8) Ready for Love
A lot of Blackpink songs just remind me of 2016, and I can’t explain it. Tally is one of those songs. Lovesick girls is another example. Maybe this entire album, especially Yeah Yeah Yeah. I can hear it being played in Old Navy back in 2016. Department store music in the best way.
The first two automatically made it into my likes playlist and I feel I’m super picky, so that means I really like the song! The others are good but it needs a couple more listens
Overall ranking: 9/10 I have no complaints about this album, it’s super good, it’s Black pink, the girls explored many types of relationships and genres and I liked it. I wish shut down was a little more colorful but I loved the callback to their other songs it was super cool.
