emet is notably sparse with compliments (because of course he is), so any he does say hit hilde a lot harder than compliments from others regardless of what they are. that said, not so much a compliment as words that stick with him forever, but... emet expressing he is glad to be living alongside hildegarde once again. he was ready to accept death & everything. but he finds his newfound existence fortunate. & that is the best implicit compliment hildegarde could possibly receive from him. that he is worth living for in emet's case, hildegarde reinforcing that he believes in the kind heart still buried deep within his chest softens him like nothing else. it worsens the guilt too of course, but it's easier to keep going knowing the one who matters most to him believes in his ability to be good. even if he doesn't really indulge in it & acts like it does not matter bc all the bad he's done surely cannot be outweighed. but it never is about this for hilde ofc. he can never make up for what he's done but he can look forward & live. & hilde has faith in him

yes. emet's idea. hilde has a bad tendency to bury himself in work & studying so on occasion emet will find any excuse to drag him either outside or to simply relax on the couch or in bed. (he got the idea from alisaie who mentioned hilde seemed genuinely happy to be able to breathe underwater with how wide-eyed he was at the fishes around him which brought to mind just how much fucking time hilde spent underwater. at a certain point in time. & not just bc he had to) if the aquarium happens to have crocodilians or Big Fish hilde will definitely be invested. emet encourages him to go with a sketchbook so he can draw the fish. as for himself emet is very content looking at any of them so long as hilde's having a good time. WILL complain if he finds one ugly though

i'm so glad you asked (heaving) this is definitely not a scenario i've thought about at all to put it simply they dress... well. exactly how you'd expect them to. campy gay villain couple. this is when the rdm in hilde jumps out & boy are they both having the time of their lives. well that & also they're suffering bc of prolonged Social Interaction but they're both able to enjoy it at the very least a little bit due to being... gestures. eccentric. ideally even if they leave tired & needing a week-long nap it's been enjoyable bc they got to play mind games with complete strangers they have a low opinion of (fully admitted to by emet & reluctantly acknowledged by hilde) (the low opinion) oh & ofc i'm sorry to say but at least one of them is wearing kink gear underneath the fancy clothes. you think theyre not gonna find a quiet hallway to make out in? pffft
