i think it would have been really cool if supernatural had used a heavy classic hollywood three point lighting on angels, especially in s4-5 where the overall image is often dark. a strong backlight creating a natural halo around their hair, the absence of shadows on the face that makes the skin almost ethereal, the unnatural glimmer in the eyes — not only it would have given an eerie feeling to them compared to the humans, but framing them in a ‘classic’ way would have given them an ‘out of time’ feel that is characterising of angels, especially early on
