so as i sorta mentioned in a previous post about this AU, i’m making capritello a thing. because its better than any shitty love triangle.

i was just trying to figure out a way to get that rolling, & have donnie/stitchtite actually consider having a relationship w/ casey involved seeing as he’d still be acting fairly competitive/antagonistic towards the guy as in canon.

dunno when i’d throw this in, as im not strictly following canon, because gems, & also because i wanna dive deeper into the obvious toxicity within certain aspects of relationships. familial & romantic alike. within the 2012 canon & give it all actual reasons for existing & some closure. as you do in SU aus~ gotta have that love & understanding. ^v^

so! i wanna just have april basically just throw up her hands at some point (maybe right before the barn arc?) and call out her boys to stop acting like they do because of her. she feels shitty for being the reason they supposedly hate each other, and the fact that they’re not even really considering her feelings on the matter.

tells them she doesn’t wanna choose between them because someone’s just gonna get hurt, & kinda trails off before she can say anything incriminating (or anything that could be related to her being possibly poly, because when has any teen ever been told that’s normal & okay??).

and instead of donnie/stitchtite’s general cluelessness & uncomfortable way of handling his feelings regarding april being the outcome of bad writing...he basically has a rose moment & is basically like ‘is...is that not how this works??’

the boy’s an alien sentient rock, kept away from humans, and his only real access to clues about human society has been through mass media. tv, movies, comics, etc. all he knows is that he likes a girl, he’s only really ever seen boy/girl couples in media, and whenever there’s another guy in the picture only one of them is supposed to get the girl. shit advice on how to act, basically.

casey & april are just reeling once again from the fact that their friends are literal aliens & of course this is an issue. they ask if donnie/stitchtite’s basically just been acting up about casey for the sake of doing what’s ‘normal’, & he basically just admits it’s only about 50%. casey still frustrates the ever living hell out of him sometimes, but he doesn’t hate him or anything.

so april tells them to just drop the crush shit for now since they have bigger things to worry about, & then the invasion of NY (or Empire City in this AU?) happens & then the barn happens & then casey & donnie/stitchtite start bonding & then feelings are going everywhere because they’re all so goddamn stupid & yeah. XD

eventually they’ll all get to the point where the 3 of them fuse for the first time & it’s just a big ol’ ‘WHY DOES THIS FEEL RIGHT????’ moment.

so those are my thoughts on the matter for now.
