okay, this is again so gorgeous and picturesque???? like, it rly feels like you could paint this and like jorkien is inviting you to do so-

like, i personally had some issues with the prior fight scenes and the reading of the dwarves’ account, but as we get back to the architecture and the beautiful and dreadful it does feel like jolkien gets his stride back again

#lotr newsletter #not saying those sections are bad #i just #didnt find the account of bulin and his dwarves all that engaging?#which i found rly sad #and i think it’s in part bc we get only gandalf reading it out loud- every I Cant Read That just pulled me out of their account #and it made it rly difficult to engage with it for me #which im sad abt bc it is intriguing and all that #the presentation is just a bit.#flawed #might make a post abt this #i havent been in the tag for fear of spoilers so maybe ppl had similar experiences?#but also im nervous bc most folks seem to already know and love the books and i dont wanna rain on anyone’s parade lol #we’ll see
