~Festival Review~

Psycho Las Vegas is a unique experience: more than 70 bands play for 4 days in 4 stages. This is not a regular festival; it represents the triumph of the underground scene that loves heavy, slow, and psychedelic riffs. We are living in the golden era for this kind of music: bands like Electric Wizard or High on Fire playing in a big arena, the dream has come true. This festival is opening the doors on the American continent for new bands, while consolidating the old ones -- they will probably be the next legends like Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. I flew in from Mexico City for Psycho this year and hope that in the near future the festival will turn its eyes to the thriving Latin America scene.

PSYCHO SWIM

The first day of the festival, I had the chance to see bands like Primitive Man, Danava, Lucifer, and Corrosion of Conformity playing on a stage overlooking a big pool, affectionately nicknamed the "slosh pit." For such a setting, the sound was amazing, the atmosphere unique; it was the start of a big party that would continue non-stop for the next three days. You could see fans from different parts of the United States and other countries like México, Argentina, France, Canada, and so forth. The cultural exchange and the vibe of friendship were amazing.

Primitive Man

I don't have words enough to describe how loud and heavy these guys are live. I think the correct way to describe it is: a massive wall of sound melting your face. In my opinion, Primitive Man emerged as one of the heaviest bands of the festival.

Lucifer

Lucifer was one of the most anticipated bands of the event. The line to access the stage was long, with people waiting upwards of 20 minutes to get access. As for the show, I think they stole the night. Nicke Andersson and Johanna Sadonis have an incredible band. You can feel the fuzzy vibe of the ‘70s all over their songs, carried out by musicians who are quite skilled for the job.

Corrosion of Conformity

Kirk Windstein from Crowbar introduced Corrosion of Conformity in the final show of the night and the entire crowd started to party. The sound was amazing, you can see why they are living legends. They played a lot of classic songs like "Albatross," "Clean my Wounds," "Broken Man," along with plenty of surprises beneath the starlit sky.

DAY ONE

Arthur Brown

It's Friday and Psycho Las Vegas has officially begun! I saw the God of Hellfire himself, Arthur Brown, to open things up on the main stage -- a big arena with an amazing sound. The living legend was back once again to offer us one of the most magical shows of the entire festival. The godfather of the shock rock let us know that there is no age restriction to being a rocker. The mix of clothes, musicians, vibe, passion, and love were the perfect combination, and the audience warmly recognized Arthur Brown for his many years of music.

Graveyard

After Arthur Brown, it was Graveyard's turn to wow us. The arena was full for this show. The Swedish stoner-blues outfit played an incredible set with songs from all of their albums: "The Siren," "Hisingen Blues," "Please Don't," "Goliath," etc. The sound was impeccable. With wider exposure like this, these guys could very well be recognized as the next Led Zeppelin.

Godspeed You Black Emperor!

After the break, I saw Montreal experimentalists, Godspeed You Black Emperor! Without doubt, one of the most impressive acts of Psycho -- more than music, it was a breathtaking experience. The visuals coupled with the sound had me in a trance for the duration of the performance by these eight musicians. One of our favorite shows.

Yob

Next, I arrived at the Beach Stage for Yob. I was very excited about this show, but unfortunately the audio from this venue was horrible during all three days. The mixing console was next to the stage and the audio engineers did not have a clue of how the sound was outside. Yob played an incredible show, nonetheless. During the last song, Colin from Amenra sang with Mike. What a great collaboration to witness!

High on Fire

After YOB, I ran to see High on Fire on the main stage, but it was the same story -- the sound was terrible. That, however, didn't stop the crowd from getting into the spirit of the songs, and they formed big circles for the mosh pit. The new drummer suffered a little bit during some of the numbers, though Matt and Jeff tried their best to coordinate with him. Certainly not the best show from the band, I’m afraid.

Fu Manchu

On the other hand, Fu Manchu radiated with pure energy. The sound was a little better than it was for Yob's set and the Cali legends did their best to offer us a killer show even with these conditions. Fu played a lot of classic songs: "King of the Road," "Saturn III," "California Crossing," "Evil Eye," and "Laserbl'ast!" One of my favorite bands of the festival and, in my opinion, deserving of a better stage.

Electric Wizard

Finally, I arrived to Electric Wizard. Tons of people tried to access to the main stage, it was crazy. Thankfully, the sound was beautiful. EW is heavy and loud, so imagine this sound in a big arena: massive waves of sonic force crashing against your face. The new bassist Haz (ex-Hawkwind) gives a new sense of heaviness, you can feel the difference he contributes. The band looked so happy playing songs like "Return the Trip," "See You In Hell," "Black Mass," etc. An unforgettable sonic encounter to be in the first rows for.

DAY TWO

Old Man Gloom

During my second day, I spent a lot of time at the main stage. The first band that opened the stage was Old Man Gloom, one of the best acts of the festival. After the loss of Caleb, Aaron Turner and the other guys continued the project. The sound was pure and direct -- you could feel your chest vibrating with every riff. Seeing Aaron Turner play made you want to move your head like a crazy.

Triumph of Death

Triumph of Death is a tribute to Hellhammer with Tom Warrior on front -- one of the most anticipated acts of the festival. The legendary Warrior played classic songs in a new way, like "The Third of the Storms," "Massacra," "Visions of Mortality," and "Triumph of Death," -- all amazing songs. The band was brimming with enthusiasm by the end of the show.

Sumac

Sumac is one of the heaviest bands of our time. Unfortunately, the sound of the Beach Stage was abysmal. The band, however, put on an incredible performance. To see Aaron Turner play twice in the same day was simply legendary. I hope next time the festival are able to troubleshoot the nuances of outdoor acoustics and put Sumac and Yob on a proper stage.

Clutch

Clutch was a lively, unforgettable experience, the legends playing a killer show. Neil Fallon is one of the top frontman these days -- he makes you want to jump, sing, hoot, and holler. One of the best moments of the gig was when we heard "Supergrass" and "Willie Nelson" -- what a great surprise. Clutch also played standards like "Earth Rocker," "X-ray Vision," and "Firebirds."

Misfits

After Clutch, the arena was packed to the gills for the Misfits. These icons of the underground put an unforgettable set, even with the technical problems experienced by Doyle. The crowd was crazy -- I saw four circle pits emerge from the beginning and they never let up. Glenn's voice continues to be one of the best in the industry. The band played some classics: "Where Eagles Dare," "Die Die My Darling," "Hybrid Moments," "Halloween," and "Hollywood Babylon," to name a few.

Full of Hell

I visited the House of Blues following this, where Full of Hell was on fire. I was particularly shocked by the drummer, one of the craziest and fastest in the biz. Hardcore, punk, noise and power violence -- Full of Hell is an experience-and-a-half. You can feel the hate in mere moments of these absorbing songs.

The Obsessed

The last band of the night was The Obsessed, and the place was understandably full for Wino. The sound was nice and balance; the crowd was crazy. Wino appeared and played some songs like "Soden Jackal" and "The Way She Fly." It's probably just my point of view, but Wino did not look excited about the show, though perhaps he always looks this stern. Whatever the case, it was great to see this giant of doom. A great way to close the Day Two.

DAY THREE

Weedeater

The last day came all too soon, but sadly all good things need to come to an end. However, some great things did take place throughout the day, like the marriage of Matt Pike (congrats). On Sunday we saw Weedeater. They are like an urban legend, where I'm from. Dixie Dave appeared on the stage and the crowd went nuts. The sound again was not the best and the guitar player suffered some troubles with his amp toward the end of the show. Such are the perils of change, Psycho having ventured out of their three-year home of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this year to embrace a series of new venues on the Vegas Strip.

Mogwai

Mogwai is another affair entirely. Their music makes you feel a lot of things at the same time, like happiness, hope, and sorrow. The ambience was perfect for this performance. I don't have words to describe the sensation.

Dead Meadow

I moved on to see Dead Meadow and they were a trip. The light show by Mad Alchemy gave the place a unique ambience. The band played a special set for the people of Psycho Las Vegas, Jason having worked very close with the festival organizers to plan every detail from the get-go.

Uncle Acid and the deadbeats

From there, I ran to see Uncle Acid and the deadbeats and was an amazing show. Even if, God forbid, you don't like the band, their live performance is undeniable: the visuals, the energy, and the sonority make everything moving and memorable. They played songs like "13 Candles," "Waiting For blood," "Mind Crawler" and, of course, "I’ll Cut You Down."

Truckfighters

From there I ran over to the Beach Stage to see Truckfighters. It was the same story as with Yob or Sumac, the sound engineers still hadn't figured out their shit. Nonetheless, The crowd was happy and supportive. Truckfighters offered an incredible show with the new drummer, Toro. Two words: pure energy! The band played Gravity X and that was a joy to hear live, as this is one of the great contemporary stoner rock albums.

Power Trip

I spent some time watching Integrity, a lesser known band to me, then moved back to the Beach Stage for Power Trip, the modern heroes of thrash and crossover metal. The area was packed and when the band appeared on stage, the biggest mosh pit in the pool erupted. The guards tried to stop it, but it was in vain. This was surely one of the most iconic moments of the festival: the slosh pit. What energy; what a band -- long live these guys.

Twin Temple

Twin Temple was a great surprise. Imagine a black mass in middle of House of Blues with a band that combines rock 'n' roll, country, and garage rock. To see Twin Temple is a very unique experience, like the satanic version of Amy Whinehouse. I loved how all the crowd joined in the chorus: “SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!”

Amenra

The last band of my weekend was Amenra. I don't have enough words to completely describe the experience. The heaviest and loudest riffs, sadness, pain, and anger all wrapped up in one moment. That's Amenra, and it was a truly spiritual experience. Also, the visuals offered us a lovely trip. Amenra deserve to play the main stage when they come back to Psycho, as they are the rising legends of the scene.

Despite a few technical glitches here and there, Psycho Las Vegas was amazing. All in all, it's the best party for the scene, with a ton of bands, nice people, and smooth-running logistics. I hope that the organizers of Psycho start checking out bands from Latin America to join next year's roster, for the scene here is really blowing up. [Bn] Appears with a heavy thump. He's a basic NOTCH but as big as an iron golem, his smile is huge and his greeting is incredibly loud and friendly- HELLO Wow... Did I spawn into a party? You guys have a really diverse server! Nice to meet you all! Where's my Herobrine?

[Doc] Jaw drop and the statick dribbles on the grass, messing up its color at hir feet.

[Stevie] - Wha...  What?

[aven] -has also shown up leaving ben with hyrule but he gave her his ocarina-

[Zly Wilk] shares an uncertain look with Lazur. They both lower their weapons to appear less threatening, but stay back and stay at the ready.

-Mix head tilt-

[Yaunfen] - Mada?  Who that?

[Bn] I'm BuffNOTCH! But you can call me Buff! So seriously! I see lots of brines, which ones mine?

[Doc] I guess that would be me...

[Buff] Strolls up- Wooow a dragon. Neat! We should arm wrestle sometime! I'll go easy on you- arm flex and playful wink-

[Stevie] - What the Nether is going on?

[Mix] -Softly, to Sky- ...What?

[gem] -is confused but is maintaining the lasers-

[Lazur] - looks at Zly with a surprised look and a shrug before putting her sword away. [Zly Wilk] - is still apprehensive, holds his staff like a walking stick. He looks closely at Doc, trying to read hir and judge how best to proceed.

[Buff] So what's going on? You guys look pretty tense. You should do more stretching exercises to loosen up. [TLOT] Shakes his head and addresses Stevie - from what I can glean someone deleted Dn and this is the result. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to take my husband to the bar and get utterly drunk.

[Crim] - relaxes and scuttles a little closer, curious.

[Doc] scuffs the statick that's pooled on the grass to despawn it.

[Stevie] - I...  I don't...  What?

[Yaunfen] - Mada?

[Zly Wilk] - aside to Stevie - I take it this isn't a normal occurrence, even by this seed's standards?

[Flowey] Can I go now?

[Mix] I.. yeah, I guess.

-Flowey does the abscond-

[Stevie] - No, not at all...  And I'm still confused as to where my brother is, he'd never miss out on fighting a NOTCH...

[Buff] Is just looking around- bit of a grim spawn but the headstone signs are pretty funny-

[Doc] I take it... you're not here to start anything?

[Buff] Not unless you're not taking care of yourself! HAHAH

[Buff] Looks at Crim - hey little fella! You're cute. - pats Crim on the head-

[Crim] - blinks in confusion. - Big no steps?

[Doc] Loafs - good grief- Xe turns to check in Deerheart. - Love? It's safe. Are you okay?

[Deer] Gives no response, her colors are still very dull and her breathing is shallow-

[Buff] Huh? - pats his pockets. - maybe I have a cookie?

[gem] -realizes he is friendly retracts her mist puts on her bracelets and lands with her guardians-

[Doc] Nudges her- Deerheart? -

[Yaunfen] - Mama...

[Doc] pulls out a bowl of the healing slime and smears a small line over her chest like icy hot- wake up sweetheart...

[Deer] Gives no response-

[Zly Wilk] - stows his staff with a mixure of relief and regret and turns to Lazur - Ok... We should get back to fixing your speech program.

[Buff] At Gem - lots a hands to shake here! - Goes for a shake with one hand and a fist bump with the other.

[Doc] Calls out for Flux, hir panic growing

[Mix] Well, atleast he's friendly? -pets the now perching Firebird and steps back a bit-

[gem] -shakes his hand with one of hers and the guardians fist bump-

[Flux] - I hear you, but I cannot come to you

[Buff] does a quick movement and suddenly Gem has cookies in two of her hands- haha!

[Doc] I have to go... Flux, I'm coming.

[gem] -puts her sugar cookies in her other two hand- would you like one?

[Stevie] - I'll go with you Doc

[Flux] Is still kneeling where she was earlier-

[Buff] Nah I just carry em for kids and such, not a big sugar  person.

[Buff] Offers Crim a cookie as well-

[gem] I like sugar but I don't need it or other foods.

[Crim] - sniffs then shakes head no. - Smell wrong, make stomach hurt. No thank.

[Doc] walks gingerly back to where Flux is, hir legs still shaking from all the leftover adrenaline. - Flux... She passed out....

[Buff] Oh! Okay.

[Flux] - I know, I managed to stop it in time

[Doc] Stop what?

[Flux] - She used so much energy, the seed tried to reclaim her, to protect her.  We servers are not meant to do what she just did.  We are meant to protect not destroy.  For the time being I am in control of the server

[Doc] Curls around her, crying softly - Thank you Flux... I owe you so much. I would be lost without her.

[Flux] - It shouldn't take her too long to recover since DN has been replaced by another

[Buff] So who's who? How come there are so many brines here?

[Stevie] Goes into Lie's house and then comes back out, scratching his head in confusion as Hope and the Vulpix's run outside-

[Zly Wilk] - cranes his neck to look at Buff - I'm Zly, this is my partner Lazur. We are former.... Well.... "Fixers"... That ended up seeking sanctuary here after our last mission went bad.

[Buff] Capital! Always good to have people to patch things up on big servers! I understand multiplayer can be rowdy! Thankfully I can bounce and ban hammer with the best!

[Mix] I'm Mix, this is Firebird!

[Sky] I'm Sky.

[Firebird] -chorp-

[Buff] You look very fit and hearty miss! And your pet looks in good health too. Good job! What an unusual Enderman!

[Firebird] -Sound similar to laughter-

[Stevie] Approaches Doc- Doc...  I can't find my brother anywhere around here, or Lie

[Zly Wilk] we specialized in viruses, malicious programs, even.... harmful glitches from time to time..... but it was always fun ChatBot hunting when we would get the chance. -chuckles-

[gem] my name is gem and these are my guardians

[hg] -is behind a tree because he is a little scared- my name is HG

[Buff] Annoyingly loud- Nice to meet all of you! So fill me in, what do I need to know? My brine skittered off, but I'm sure I'll catch up to them soon enough.

[Notch] Was helping Stevie look-  I hate to say it, but I think he ran and hid. It would make sense with everything that's happened lately.

[Stevie] - Who knows how far he went...

[aven] I am heading back to ben and hyrule -heads off-

[Doc] Well he didn't leave the server. And I should be able to use the admin functions to find him. I think it's just a matter of talking him down.

[Buff] Waves to Aven-

[Flux] - At least his mate is with him

[Doc] True. - Xe's unconsiously grooming Deerheart's hair with hir claws. - He probably just wanted to protect her.

[Yaunfen] - Why Mada doing that?

[Doc] Doing what? Oh! Just... I want her to know I'm here. Keeping her warm, watching over her. She takes such good care of me...

[Yaunfen] - Oh, can I help?

[Notch] Flux... are you okay? You look uncomfortable...

[Doc] If you want, sweetheart. Curl up with us.

[Flux] - I will be fine, although I will be unable to move from this spot until Deer is ready to take control again

[Yaunfen] Curls up between them-

[Notch] Oh dear! Can you at least sit down?

[Flux] - If I am careful, it is just that my fingers cannot leave the ground, that is where the connection is

[Notch] Shit... Um, I'll help! - He opens the creative and then carefully maneuvers a stairblock under her butt so she's sitting, albeit a little awkwardly.

[Flux] - Thank you Notch

[Notch] Give me a few ticks, I'll build a little shelter around you so you don't get rained on. - starts pulling out materials-

[Hope] Starts playing with the end of Doc's tail-

[Zly Wilk] We are rather new here ourselves, Buff, so we don't know many of the locals, but i can tell you that your Brine has made something wonderful here.... A sanctuary where all those who have been persecuted, those looking for a second chance at a new life, can find a safe space to call home.

In all my Cycles I've never seen anything like it, and the inhabitants here would protect their home and their friends to the death, if it came to that.

[Doc] Flicks it a little bit with a soft smile so the cat can play.

[Buff] Hot damn. Looks like I hit the jackpot assignment-wise! I guess I won't be needed for bodyguard duty much, huh?

[Hope] Tackles it while the Alolan Vulpix tries to get the other one to play-

[HG] -tries to get closer to buff-

[Buff] Turns a huge radiant smile on HG - You're grubby! Been playing football or something?

[HG] -in a shy voice- no I garden I have a lot of plants I take care of so I am in the dirt a lot.

[Zly Wilk] it's a pretty peaceful seed, yeah. Not to say there aren't 'family squabbles' now and then. You may see some dust ups amongst the Brines, but we all pretty much take care of our own when the chips are down.

[Deer] Starts stirring-

[Buff] I love it, on both counts! - Gives Hg a friendly swat on the shoulder. - It's always good to get outside! Breathe some fresh air and get dirty!

[Doc] Gives her the tiniest sad lick on the cheek-

[Deer] - Doc?

[HG] -falls over because he wasn't expecting the swat-

[Doc] I'm here...

[Buff] Whoops! Sorry little guy! - He picks up Hg like he doesn't weigh anything and sets him on his feet again.

[Deer] - What...  What happened?

[HG] thank you

[Doc] Some kind of secondary protocal. It must have been part of the last update and I didn't notice it. You deleted Dn, and the system generated a new NOTCH to take his place...

[Buff] No problem!

[Deer] - A new one?

[Doc] Yeah... he's a bit odd.... but he seems friendly enough.

[Deer] - If you say so...  I feel weird...

[Flux] - That's most likely because you're not fully connected to the seed at the moment

[Notch] Has already put up some walls and is now building a cute little roof over her head.

[Deer] - I'm not fully connected?  What's wrong?  What's happening?

[Doc] She's in control for the moment. She was waiting for you to recover fully.

[Deer] - Flux, you didn't have to...

[Flux] - Yes I did, the seed would have taken you back to save you

[Doc] You saved me and she saved you.

[Deer] - Then thank you Flux

[Flux] - You are very welcome

[Lazur] - makes a series of noises like out of the old Q*Bert game -

[Zly Wilk] It's not my business to ask. We are NOT the Guardians of this seed.

-gets a pleading look from his partner- oh.... Alright.  Buff, pardon my asking. We've had some run ins with some bad characters that have dropped in... What exactly IS your assignment here?

[Buff] Shrugs- NOTCHs are assigned to Herobrines. We're just supposed to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't cause a ton of chaos and drive the human players away.

[Zly Wilk] -grins broadly- Then yeah, I think you got yourself a pretty easy assignment.

[Buff] Then just let me know if you need any heavy things moved around. - Laughs-

[Mix] What kind of heavy stuff counts?

[Buff] Anything!

[Zly Wilk] - laughs- well, we need to head over to check in on our friends. care to follow?  - in chat - Doc, where you guys at?

[Doc] Chat- At Lie's house

[Mix]! Can you carry me???

[Zly Wilk] Chat - ok... Bringing our new friend.

[Buff] Sure! Shall I take the bird too?- He picks her up one handed and puts her on his shoulder.

[Mix] Nice! *giddy Laugh

[firebird] *chirp

[Buff] Puts the big bird on his other shoulder and faces Zly - Lead the way!

[Sky] - amused snort -

[Zly Wilk] - heads off towards Lie's house at a brisk pace and soon they arrive -

[Stevie] Waves in greeting-

[Buff] Looks at Deerheart laying down, and Flux in her tiny house. - Uhh? Everything okay over here?

[Deer] - I'm not sure

[Doc] It's just been a stressful day...

[Zly Wilk] -waves back and approches Stevie, whispers - Do me a favor? When things settle down, have Doc contract me? - makes sure Lazur is out of earshot - I have a coding issue that i could use some help on.

-Mix blep -

[Stevie] - Huh?  Uh, sure...

[Buff] Hey another NOTCH! I think?

[Notch] I'm the original... Markus.

[Buff] Neat.

[Hope] Mews at Buff, sniffing him-

[Buff] Can't reach down for the cat without dislodging Mix and Firebird - Good kitty.

[Deer] Sits up a bit more- It feels weird, not being fully connected to the server that is...

[Zly Wilk] Thanks. With all that is going on, figured it could wait. - gestures to Deer, Flux, and Buff before walking over and joining Lazur.

[Lazur] - teleports them both back to their camp in the woods -

[Doc] Well you're registered as a player, so it's not like you're in total limbo with the system.

[Stevie] Eyes Buff a little nervously-

-mix, contently blepping on Buffs shoulder while Firebird preens on the other -

[Buff] Hey, a Steve! What's shaking big guy? - Offered fist bump.

[Stevie] - Ummm...- He isn't sure what to do

[Doc] Makes a little motion and bumps hir knuckles together-

[Stevie] Tentatively bumps fists-

[Buff] All right!

[Stevie] Steps away and trips over the Vulpix's which then scatter-

[snake] -comes from the direction of gem's house because he stayed behind because they though there was going to be a fight he make a kazoo noise so no one steps on him-

[CN] Is sniffling in the dog house, Lie's wolves nudging him and trying to make him happier-

[Yaunfen] Happily nuzzles Deer- Mama...

[Deer] Gives Yaunfen a gentle pet-

[Notch] Finishes the tiny house and looks around. - Hey, where's Cn? Do you think Cp and Lie actually took him too?

[Doc] I doubt it...

[Buff] Hears the kazoo and looks around- Did someone fart?

[Flux] - Dog pen

[snake] I am no fart I am a snake

[Notch] I'll go look.

[CN] Is sitting in a corner, knees drawn up to his chest-

[Mix] Hey Snake! *wave from Buff;s shoulder

[Buff] Oh! You're tiny! Sorry!

[Notch] Cn? - ventures inside- Cn...

[CN] Wipes his eyes- Go away

[snake] I am very tiny compared to the other guardians but I still have a great impact

[Notch] Are you sure you wouldn't prefer someone to tell your troubles too?

[CN] - NO!

[Notch] Well then you can be quiet, but you're still coming with me. - He scoops up the small child and hugs him before making his way back to the group-

[CN] Still crying-

[Doc] Sees Markus approaching and Cn crying. - Oh...

[Buff] Walks to meet them- Hey little NOTCH, why so many tears?

[CN] Turns away from Buff-

[Deer] - CN...  I'm sorry...

[CN] - NO YOU'RE NOT!

[Doc] You'll understand when you're older I think...

[CN] - NO!  HE WAS MY FRIEND!

[Deer] - But you weren't his CN

[Notch] He wasn't a nice person at all. I know you cared about him, but he didn't care about anyone but himself. Honestly.

[CN] - But he helped me get feathers!

[Doc] So did I. You have other friends Cn...

[Yaunfen] Takes the donuts and snacks on them-

[snake] -flops off of firebird then rolls into a donut shape- don't eat me

While shopping for car insurance, I usually use a fake name/address with all my real information (DOB, driving record, etc) just so I don't get a bunch of annoying calls/emails from every company I get a quote from. The fake email address I always use got an email the other day, which basically said that when they ran a credit check they consumer reporting agency couldn't provide a full credit history (not surprising seeing as they were checking on a name that doesn't exist). The thing that concerns me is that being only 19, I also don't have much of a credit history (the only credit I do currently have is a card I got a month ago). I couldn't really tell from the email (since I didn't read it too closely, I was really just clearing out the fake inbox) but I'm not sure if they were saying We couldn't get a credit history on you, if we had been able to, the rate you were quoted could have been lower or something more drastic like because we couldn't find a credit history, the quote we gave is no longer valid and either they won't cover me or will charge way more. I was convicted of possession of marijuana and as part of Michigan's driving laws even if the incident did not occur in a car your license is restricted for 6 months. Confused about this i went to Sec of State and in fact found out that i have no points. I called Memic and explained this to them, they informed me that they do not use actual points, they use their system of points. For example OUID is a 6 point offense but they count it as 8 points. Passing a stopped school bus (which as far as i can tell is no points) they view as 8 points. My question is, can they do this?
