everyone who knows me knows im a horror gore graphic dark shit etc guy but sometimes i remember that one mob psycho fic that described the cat that dies in the manga mogami arc in the most gruesome graphic detail imaginable for like 3 paragraphs and its just so stupid to me. like it was so over the top it stopped being upsetting and just started being kind of annoying

like, the cat dies in the manga offscreen and then is shown in a wide shot with a little pool of blood. and then it gets back up because its the mogami arc. hell even just the implication in the anime that they'll kill the cat is upsetting enough to get the point across even if they dont go through with it. how cheap a fic writer are you that you have to describe a cat being beaten and its intestines being out and blood everywhere to express that "bullies killing a cat in front of a kid" is upsetting

While I think bones did amazing with the animation, the arc was rushed, there's no denying. People have the right to feel let down.

Listen, my problem is not that people feel let down (manga readers especially), but normally if you go in the tag after a new ep drops you have like 200 gifsets of the ep like 10 secs later and posts giving you meta on how the character looked to the left so that must mean some sort of foreshadowing and shit… Contrary to that, if you go into the tag right now, 90% are ppl just complaining. Everyone is focusing on the bad. I have yet to see a single post talking about what they did like. Yeah, ppl are like “the animation was good BUT-”, as if starting the post with that line counters the other four paragraphs on how the ep was bad. It wasn’t bad, objectively, either.

It’s all about balance. If it was a minority, or even a 50% of the reactions that were negative I wouldn’t mind. But I scroll down and almost all posts are complaints. So, it does feel like ppl are treating the effort Bones put into this ep as if it was nothing. Ppl are even implying that if you liked this ep it’s cuz you don’t value storytelling or character arcs. Look, ONE’s storytelling is one of the best (or even the best) I’ve encountered in my life. I’ve always recognized that, and YES, every single mp100 fan should go and read the manga bc it’s simply on another level of story, character development and content creation. And the Mogami Arc is simply genius writing, that horrifies you but not for shock value. It tells you something deep and lets you see it. It changes Mob. It changes the story. So yeah, the ep was rushed. I never denied that. But it still works and they made up for it with their gorgeous talents. I’m just taking the time to value that.

So, can we move on so ppl actually start giffing the ep already, while writing positive posts about it? Bc I need to reblog gifsets and positive things about it and no one is doing that. Normally ppl would be thirsting over Reigen for staying behind or memeing Mob’s 100% Courage eyes, or calling Dimple an MVP. Can we do that already? I’m waiting.
