ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย There were few nights in which Arasulahn was fortunate to enjoy her room to herself. The barracks were emptied of Inquisition scouts and soldiers who joined the celebrations at the Heraldโs Rest after the Inquisitorโs latest victory in Halamshiral. She knew, in her heart, that she should be there as well, at the very least to congratulate the Inquisitor; but the journey had drained her spirits so much that leaving her very bed had become a momentous feat. There she laid, tired but sleepless in a blanket cocoon, until a familiar voice roused her from her fatigue.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Breaths of white smoke came out in plumes through a slow and heavy sigh of relief. Arasulahn shut her eyes and leaned back against the wall, relishing the languid sensation of her racing thoughts slowing into a haze.ย
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โElgarnโan. I do not know if I can properly express how thankful I am for you right now, Roland,โ Roland. Rooooland.ย His name sounded thick on her tongue, and strangely foreign, as if saying it for the first time. Arasulahn passed the slim wooden pipe back to her companion, who joined her beneath the rough canvas blanket, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder as they reveled in the quiet of the night. โI had begged the Creators for sleep, just a moment of rest for this weary mind, but look! You have answered my prayers in their stead.โ
