I hope this doesn't sound too silly, but I've been tormented by one thought for several weeks. Reader, who has a calm character, has been acting a little gloomy lately. And Ragatha noticed it and decided to ask! Since Ragatha is such a person who disposes to herself and you can trust her, reader decided to invite her to their room and tell their problem. They very hesitantly admitted that they have some feelings for Jax/Caine/Kinger/Pomni (I think Ragatha will have a different reaction to everyone) and have no idea what to do with it. Well, reader need support...and help probably.

im writing these all out of order, but i think ragatha would be surprised about this one too! i mean, caine isnt around too often, usually off doing his own thing... honestly i think caine is not at all ragathas type, so shes probably trying to wrack her brain trying to figure out what the appeal is for you... though, shes not mean about it! you guys just have different taste! as for advice, i think she would try to help you get caines attention :0 assuming you dont already have it, of course !

CRUSH ON KINGER:

a little surprised on this one but not outright shocked. i mean kinger is around, he doesnt run off like caine.. and hes generally friendly to everyone unlike jax... hmm.. i think, ragatha would fully support this for both of you.. probably after sitting on it she actually grows on the idea and thinks its cute.. might play matchmaker and have you and kinger paired up for IHAs

CRUSH ON JAX:

she just kind of stares at you for a minute processing.. not that she thinks its a bad thing to have a crush on the guy, but it does take her aback a little considering all the pranks and jokes he pulls on everyone, as well as him being a general annoyance to everyone... though, that sounds mean, i do think her and jax are friends.. i think with this one, she would have the most trouble keeping it a secret and probably accidentally lets it slip to jax... she didnt mean to tattle on you, i promise ! jax just noticed something was off with her and wouldnt stop bugging her until she spilled !

god rest your soul, reader, jax will not let you live this down... his ego is massive

CRUSH ON POMNI:

oh? the new girl? sure pomni had just joined the circus a few weeks ago, but who is ragatha to judge you for how fast you catch feelings for someone? now lets say, pomni also returns the feelings... i wanted to keep reciprocation ambiguous but i have an idea: honestly i think she would tell you about how pomni talks about you, how she gushes and keeps bringing you up... the jester is not at all good at hiding her feelings... think of this as a little confidence booster for you, playing matchmaker so to speak... honestly this goes for all of them but i think ragatha would be your personal cheerleader

• surprisingly knowing stuff for microbio that i didnt need to be lectured much and was kinda left to do my own business/finished early enough i can grab lunch

• being able to talk further to my friend about a writing project that i have on the backburner presently because i got a bad writers block about it but now i think i have an idea of where i wanna go

• getting a really stupid idea for a scene for said project and even getting a chance to write it

• being able to take a shuttle out of town (even if its just for classes. i miss driving around sm lmao)

• saw daffodils again :) also very pretty on sunny days like today. actually lots of them bc theyre planted all over the place here which is so nice!

• got to go home earlier than expected from the teaching :)

• GOT TO SEE A BUNCH OF BUGS.... I actually lowkey really love microbio tbh and I think it's cool (and terrifying. I had a huge fear of Everything when I first started learning about it), but getting to see each of the organisms face to face feels like being a little starstruck (which is kinda lame tbh but honestly it was so neat.), especially the parasites because they were a lot bigger than I would imagine them being!

• ngl walking around in the cold rain was nice. i mean it was really cold but it kinda felt freeing in a way. its nice

• i mean technically it didnt happen today but the little realization made me sorta happy. a lot of the times with friends i always worry about being really boring and tbh, from my perspective, i feel that i am. i dont really talk much and tend to be too anxious to do so. i dont speak my mind because i get way too nervous about how the other would accept it. that and sorta being told that i am boring/predictable a lot growing up made it hard to not think of myself any other way. (its kinda weird though bc i get told both ends of the spectrum where im either told im too boring OR im being too annoying so idk. cant win either way tbh). idk. its silly thinking about like two instances as of late that like i did something that was very predictable of me and still friends being fond of that bc thats just very 'me'. maybe its a silly thing to fixate on, but ig its kinda nice knowing that i dont have to try so hard to stand out/be different or whatever else. naturally, whatever i wind up doing, there'll be people who like me as i am, and i think thats a nice thing to hold onto

i forgot to add one more bc this was mostly written while i was on the shuttle back home and cooking dinner but it was also nice talking to my friend about some theories about hsr :] idk it got me excited to do so even though i dont have everything put together in my head alskdfjh

hey, bug! if i'm not bothering you/if you already answered this before, but your favorite characters are Blossom and Mojo, right? i wanna ask: what's your favorite moments of the show that featured them? like, if you had to choose a scene that you liked the most that had them "center-stage", what would you choose?

Yes! They're both my faves! And the real answer to what stand-out scene I would choose for each of them is... agh, there are just way too many! I don't know! 😭 It's so tough to pick just one for them because the reason they're my faves is because of all of those little moments in all of those episodes and books and the movie and special features (etc., etc.) throughout the entire series combined into one big stupid love for them. ...but I'll try to pick at least a few anyway!

For Mojo... it would probably have to just be the entirety of all of The PPG Rule!!! scenes he's in. It’s not only my favorite episode of all time, but also my favorite Mojo episode. It's silly and goofy, he's silly and goofy... it's great! If I have to pick a moment from a regular episode though (since The PPG Rule!!! is technically a special), it would probably be the one scene where he goes berserk and finally beats the crud out of that Galactus-ish alien from Forced Kin. He proves himself to be super powerful and the evilest of evils... only to realize that he's actually saved the day as the goodest of do-gooders. 😂

It’s tougher for me to think of just one stand-out scene for Blossom. I feel like one of the biggest reasons I love her is the PPG movie, since the time I saw it is around the same time she started to kind of take her place as my fave of the trio. I still really cherish the whole scene on the asteroid where the girls are still reeling from Mojo’s betrayal. While Bubbles and Buttercup are way open about how they feel about the situation, poor Blossom’s the one who’s going through all of it silently in her mind. And it sucks, and it's so heartbreaking. But it’s such a good scene. What’s even better is the scene later when Blossom’s the one to put two and two together and be the first of the girls to start fighting the bad guys with intention, asserting her position as leader. That one freeze frame of her punching one of the monkey's machines with the theme song suddenly playing in the background (and the subsequent EXPLOSIONNNNN!!! behind her) is super badass!

…if I have to pick an episode scene though, gosh, there're so many good ones... haha, actually, I don’t know why, but the first scene that popped up in my head was her being a goofball and owning her bad haircut in The Mane Event to take down the villain. Blossom takes herself very seriously, so not only does she sometimes become self-conscious about things easily, she often gets herself so down about it. But this particular scene is cute because it shows her deciding to own the thing crippling her ability to be the leader she needs to be... and actually having fun with it (her puns are genuinely adorable, and the way she starts talking like some weird old-timey vaudeville comic cracks me up). A similar moment in the show is in Not So Awesome Blossom which... yes, that's one of the weird S5 episodes, but it's fun and kind of cathartic to see her beat the crap out of Mojo after he's tried to use her shaken confidence to his advantage. She gets her mojo back and gets back at Mojo! My one favorite beating up my other favorite! You love to see it! 💕

Again, agh, as I write this I keep thinking about more and more moments that I love, but I'll have to leave it at that for now. Thank you for the ask!

Little thought about The Tyrant’s Tomb. [SPOILERS!!!!]

oKAY, so I’m gonna start off by saying that, as usual, Rick Riordan’s writing style never fails to impress and draw me in to keep reading and not stop until I’ve devoured every last word. I was DESPERATE to read this book because it took me longer to get it than usual, and I was trying to go into it spoiler free (aside from reading the snippets that Uncle Rick posted on his Twitter every now and then.) I pretty much managed to do so, and it made the experience that much more emotional for me. I went into The Burning Maze KNOWING that Jason was going to die, but I had absolutely no idea what I’d be facing in this book.

Camp Jupiter

I’m just gonna flat out say it; I was never really all that interested in Camp Jupiter in the beginning. I didn’t like the majority of the characters (aside from Dakota who is my legal son) and the camp structure (though accurate to the Romans) seemed too strict and harsh to me. The ranking systems confused me, and it all in all just did not appeal to me the way Camp Half-Blood does. However, the more I read, the more attached I grew, and although I still MUCH prefer Camp Half-Blood and would choose it in a heartbeat when choosing between the two camps, it still became an interesting place to read about. I ADORE the idea of New Rome and the sharp contrast of silly demigods like the fifth cohort vs. the strict rules and upbringing of the camp.

When Jason died in The Burning Maze and the next book was set to take place surrounding Camp Jupiter, I grew excited. I REALLY wanted to meet more of the demigods of the Roman camp and explore them more (mostly Dakota but I digress.) Although I knew reading about everyone’s reactions to Jason’s death would be hard, I fought through it and was somewhat surprised by the lack of grieving that was presented. I mean, the ENTIRE first few chapters were ALL about Jason’s coffin and Lester and Meg grieving and trying their best to get it to camp but when it actually got there there really wasn’t that much of an uproar. At first I thought that was strange but looking back at it the Romans are brought up to be strong and not let emotions take over them, and people like Hazel have to show absolute strength. Besides the camp was already in mourning over DOZENS of other campers at the time.

That was another thing that sort of bugged me. I was absolutely ITCHING to meet some new characters and granted I got a few, but the majority of the ‘newer’ characters had already been killed and served only as the undead army.

THAT WAS SO FUCKED UP. It was one thing that I think Rick did a really good job with in upping the deep and darkness of the Riordanverse series. Can you imagine fighting your undead comrades and friends?? Like holy shit, that was emotional. I was super worried I spoiled something for myself on Istagram bc I read a post someone made about Jason trying to get the undead Romans to follow him instead or direct them away from camp, but I should have known it wasn’t true since he was literally burned.

Frank

Speaking of burning, I ACTUALLY thought Rick killed Frank off. Up until this book, I hadn’t really realized how much I loved this man. His character is just so well-written and likable and when he sacrificed the wood, I was like NOOOOOOOOO. I was SO grateful he came back in the end because I was sure Rick would never hear the end of THAT one if he allowed it to really happen. On the bright side, my baby boy can now enjoy his life with a little bit more vigor and less fear now that the stick is gone for good.

New Characters

Lavinia Asimov: Okay, Lavinia is a REALLLLLLLY weird character to me. She reminds me a lot of Lou Ellen to be honest, but for some reason, she doesn’t appeal to me as much as Lou Ellen does. (Maybe it’s just because I tend to prefer minor characters) Her rebelliousness seemed a little too... forced at times?? And her whole thing with the dryads and fauns was kinda weird too, but I guess since she likes Poison Ivy, it makes sense. However, she kinda did grow on me, I suppose, and I wouldn’t mind seeing more of her.

Poison Ivy: I REALLY wished we could have met her even just once. Lavinia would not shut up about her and was CONSTANTLY rebelling against the rules in camp just to see her, so I wanna know just what kind of a character she is. I’m sure she would have been very interesting and sassy to have been Lavinia’s love interest lol

Pranjal: He’s a good boy!!! Not quite sure how to pronounce his name properly, but his appearance is adorable and I LOVE the fact that he’s a son of Aesculapius because he’s one of my favorite gods soooo... I really wish we could have seen more of him!! He’s kinda like Clovis in the way that he has like one important part, gets mentioned like two times afterwards and then never again :^/

Aristophanes: he’s a cat,,, i love him,,, 

Harpocrates: This was SO interesting and out of the blue to me having gone in spoiler free!! He’s earned a new spot up in my favorite gods list because of how interesting and mysterious he is. His concept was great and although i was sad to see him sacrificed, I hope that he and Sibyl are together wherever they are bc that was damn cute and made me so emotional afgkjldg why did Apollo have to be such a dick as a god,,,

I have a lot of feelings over his character development. Rick handles him SO well, and I just,,, I love him,,, i am,,, in love with him,, i would date lester papadopoulos

Meg

She’s grown to be such a doll!! I was SUPER annoyed by her in the first books, but now she’s my daughter. I love that she’s actually expressing emotions other than ‘annoying 12 year old’ now. Like I wanna protect her.

Reyna

She was a pretty good character in this book and her leaving the camp was a HUGE surprise to me. I kinda wish she was still praetor because idk Hazel just doesn’t rlly seem as fit for it as Reyna was, and I like Reyna a lot, but idk i guess it’s coolio. I was also glad Rick cleared up all the romance discourse about her too though the way he did it was kinda weird (she literally was using the word ‘ship’ out loud like wh-- and i don’t remember the venus thing at all so maybe i missed it from a different book? idk it came out of nowhere to me)

Ella and Tyson

I actually like Ella a lot now!! I used to find her quite annoying, and her relationship with Tyson felt forced, but now that I had the time to get used to her and figure out her character a little more, I do like her. She sort of treats Tyson weird, but I think towards the end, I fell for their relationship more. Tyson was literally excellent, show-stopping, breath-taking, amazing,,, like YESSS KING I LOVE YOU AND YOU PEANUT BUTTER-SMELLING SELF (that one scene where he just started dancing and apollo didn’t know if it was for the ritual or just bc he felt like it killed me)

Character Deaths

Dakota: I AM NEVER GOING TO GET OVER THIS ONE FOLKS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY TIMES I HAD TO REREAD THE SAME SENTENCE TO MAKE SURE THAT I WASN’T HAVING A NIGHTMARE. I PHYSICALLY CANNOT BELIEVE THAT RICK KILLED HIM OFF. I’M STILL EMOTIONAL OVER IT, AND JUST AJSDHF;AMNJ ‘;  NOOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS THE SECOND SIBLING POLLUX HAS LOST IM GOING TO  S C R E A M  HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS AND HE DESERVED BETTER DAMN IT I’M LITERALLY IN SHOCK LITERALLY DO NOT TALK TO ME LIKE I’M STILL IN SHOCK FROM CREST’S DEATH IN THE LAST BOOK TBH AND NOW THIS??? NOW I’M SCARED CLOVIS IS GONNA DIE JSDKLFKS the only thing that gives me comfort is that Jason can be with his friend in Elysium now fuckkkk,,, rick why did you do this to me,,, I LITERALLY CANNOT EXPRESS HOW UPSET I AM I WILL  N E V E R  HEAL

Don: Don was sort of a comic relief character in SoN, and it was very sad to see him go. He reminded me a lot of Grover, and his death scene with Lavinia ACTUALLY made me tear up. THIS BOOK MADE ME SO EMOTIONAL GOD DAKOTA AND DON WERE LITERAL BABIES RICK GIVE THEM BACK

Bobby: listen,,, we never even met this kid rlly and i was still super sad when lavinia had to kill him again and hannibal is without him and just ughhh whyyy

Julia’s mother, father, AND foster parents: HOLY SHIT RICK WASN’T THAT KIND OF OVERKILL??? I felt so bad for the poor girl, especially cause she’s like six??? But it’s very sweet that Terminus adopted her. I really liked that.

Jacob: AAHHHAHA this one made me sad too!!!! he was such a minor character, but he reminded me of Damien White and Ethan Nakamura (if he were allowed to actually be a kid,) so I think that’s why I was sort of partial to him. The way he died was SUPER horrid too, so I just,,, im big sad for him (on a good hand, he went down F I G H T I N G)

Mentions of anything relating to Hypnos or his children

Yes, i am keeping track, sue me. Somnus was mentioned one time in this book as one of the gods Apollo briefly considered summoning to his aid, and it is presumed he has some sort of tribute at Camp Jupiter had he not before. You’ll make another appearance someday Clovis, I know it :’^D 

Final Thoughts

I literally CANNOT wait for the next book (which I presume is the last one.) From what it seems, we’re returning to New York, so Camp Half-Blood will be present. I can’t wait to see my babes again, and I’m REALLY hoping more minor characters will be allowed to shine (cough clovis cough) but like i KNOW some will die and just,,, im sad,,, dakota’s death has wrecked me,,, but on the side note, the new book is coming out in my last year of school!!! i’m so excited because this series holds emotional value to me like i’ve literally gone through my high school career with trials of apollo like it was with me the whole time and it’s one of the only things that keeps me going. i just,,, i have no words to express how much this series and all the others mean to me...

just an update

I haven’t written in a long ass time, like actually written and not just venting writing, but I feel like writing is important. Even if I’m the only one reading it, it’s important. So here’s the good and bad of the past couple weeks (maybe months?) cause I have to write if I’m at a Starbucks amirite amirite. 

So let’s start with something that’s on my mind the most - MCAT. Ironically, the one thing I should be doing right now as well... lol. I haven’t gotten the ball rolling and I’m a little worried.. I feel like I should be doing way way way more and I’m not. I think I need to move back home but like all of my stuff is at wayne. my life is at wayne. my home is wayne and I’m scared to let it go. This doctor/nurse/health care professional popped into starbucks right now btw should i talk to him? probably wont since im writing. but anyways, I really think I should bring a bunch of my essentials back home for a while and just fucking MCAT. i need to MCAT. i need to i need to. it’s pointless for me to be wasting precious studying time at Wayne getting high or cuddling with my fucking useless boyfriend instead of fucking grinding. It’s stressing me out a little. but I know I will do it, and I can. I need to start having more faith in myself I feel...

The next thing I think about a lot is my fucking gas issues mainly cause i’ve been burping SO GODDAMN MUCH. I hate this. I hate not being in amazing health conditions. I love where my body is at right now and I love where it’s going, even though it’s going kind of slow, but this burping is making me second guess it. I feel like since i might not being eating as much as I used to, my stomach is (hopefully) shrinking but because of that I’m burping so much because of all the empty space. Not sure how to fix it but hopefully it’ll be better soon. I also started putting menthe and coconut in my oil (jk today is the first day cause I facetimed ajji and appa and they told me to do this) but hopefully i’ll start getting my hair back as well. I’m trying really hard to have my life together, but everyone keeps saying that I shouldn’t be worrying about that right now, but I’m curious.... did Ajay have it together? Did Anita? Did they break down and cry about silly things at night? were they insecure? how do successful people handle their insecurities and how do they still manage to be successful without focusing on their problems too much?!? Need to know. sigh. 

The last thing I want to talk about is the album 17 by xxxtentacion. This. effing. hit. me. like. a. tRUCK. like BRO. I think the reason I like it so much is because in the midst of all of this hype and chill music put out, it’s raw and real and depicts my emotions. I realized therapy did absolutely nothing for me because none of my real insecurities were addressed except maybe the mcat stuff but besides that nothing was really addressed. I didn’t talk about how I think about death all the time, how i think i have some type of ocd that is really fucking annoying, how i have the same anxiety from my mother which really bugs me because I see myself turning more and more like her, how my boyfriend doesn’t try to talk to me about what happens in therapy even though I’ve told him so many times I have issues, how i really want kids but probably will talk myself out of it because I can see myself becoming my mother and the last thing I need is a child if I’m like her... is my mom a bad mom? no she’s the best. My upbringing was amazing - my sister and I are amazing children. we’re respectful, we have amazing morals and values and we were raised amazingly, but look at what it did to our parents. My dad is trapped in a land he doesn’t want to be in, he just wants to be at home with his parents in his home land. My mom is at a job she doesn’t care for and tries to fill her void with religion which maybe brings her happiness, but I can tell she stresses about things unnecessarily because of my and preethi. All of her worries are from us and I don’t want to be like that. maybe it’s selfish not having kids, but I’ll probably do it for my mental health which is fair. See I’m sitting here worried about stupid shit getting anxiety about stupid shit that I shouldn’t be focused on, and I think it’s because of the anxiety. I just overthink all the time and it fucking sucks. But I think that’s why I love this album. It’s real and it’s raw, it makes sense to me. I feel his pain when I’m listening to it, and I feel like he can hear mine. Thanks XXX, i love you.

POMNI:

probably thinks its an actual bug making the sounds before she realizes its you! a little put off by it but thats only because i can kind of see pomni being vaguely scared of bugs though im on the fence about that one... that said i do think over time she associates those noises with you, and thus, comfort! visibly eases up when she hears you chirping; bonus if sometimes your noises are your version of a purr and you start making them while you two are cuddling. i think she'd just melt right into you... hmm.. given that i already made the purring comparison i like to think she falls asleep against you while you're doing a long drawn out set of chirps, just very slightly vibrating as you do so. very nice very comforting

RAGATHA:

i think she would find it cute! shes only scared of centipedes, after all! loves when you make chirping sounds when she pats your head or gives you scritches... i know you said bug noises but assuming the reader is also bug like, ragatha like scratching between your antennae. like a funky cat! i dont think she would draw much attention to your noises, especially if theyre involuntary; though i think every now and then she might let a comment slip on how she thinks its endearing... hmmm... just dont make cricket sounds at night or when someone tells a bad joke it will drive her nuts/j

JAX:

speaking of cricket sounds, imagine making the noises when jax tells a really bad joke or one of his pranks fall flat. it drives him nuts, but he'll play it off with a half hearted "boooooo" and a thumbs down... you start using it as a subtle means to keep him in line/from going too far with his pranks/j except i think that might actually work though im unsure of the ethics behind that. i think sometimes he teases you for your noises, and i think this simply comes with being with jax but expect nicknames based on your bug like qualities. playfully swats you with a rolled up piece of paper every now and then. might sometimes subconsciously mimic your sounds. cant explain that one i can just see it
