I’d like using the term fertility gods if people would actually make up their minds on what that means

my mom still thinks Demeter primarily is a sex goddess and I have to constantly correct her (for the sake of my little sister who is unintentionally named after her)

#Ramblings #mythology #greek mythology #demeter #I swear it’s so fuckin vague #i was just trying to look up cypriot art and the met starts referring to ashtart that way and it makes her sound really different #I love the met don’t get me wrong but some of their wording for piece info is… odd #i was there for my 17th and they called a perfume vessel “head of a black” on its info #which sucks cause it had amazing info on Ethiopians in the Greek world and the hero Memnon #It’s just such weird wording why not aethiopian or African???#Those would’ve been less jarring #Oh damn went on a rant there #This was just about my mild distaste for the term fertility god and my mom #Anyways #And my my mom I mean her perception of this #She’s literally perfect most of the time
