Some knee-jerk thoughts on the 15x07 preview

Yeah I sighed.  Yeah I eye-rolled.  And then I rolled it back and watched it again.

Dean’s bored, clearly still in his depressive funk about Cas breaking up with him and their post breakup phonecall Chuck still controlling them, so he’s looking for something, a hunt, to relieve the angst and boredom he’s feeling, probably bc Sam and Eileen are on their honeymoon thanks

Crop circles.  Body without a heart.  And he lands on “My Friend was Raptured While I was Drunk.”  Interesting that he’d fall on a case about being raptured, but anyway.

So we can assume Dean goes off on his own to go hunt, leaving Sam and Eileen to go find Cas (thank u so much writers)

“What are you doing here?!”

Leo is like hyped af to see Dean, because you can assume it’s been literal years, if Dean met Leo without Sam especially, but I’m super interested in the way Dean reacts to Leo, because he’s like...nervous.  He looks around, shifts his weight, does those little avoidant looks he does when he’s nervous.  Oh yeah, this is gonna be good my friends.

“Working a case” is said offscreen, so I’m assuming that that line isn’t concurrent with Leo asking him why he’s there.

Cut to Dean opening the trunk of another car (not the Impala) but I think it is a mid-2000s Impala which is interesting.

Someone gets thrown out a window at Swayze’s Bar.

And then, the big moment.

“Looking for someone.”

“Oh but I think you found her.”

Ok.

Dean’s surprised but smiley, and I’m really reminded of that episode Sin City in season 4, where that bartender was a demon and hit on Dean? Anyway, Dean gets his ass smacked by thus girl but he doesn’t seem all that interested?  I could just be reading into it but he’s probably looking for Leo, not this girl, and he doesn’t do the immediate turnaround when she smacks his ass, just seems surprised and like he’s going to keep moving?

Listen, a 30 second promo does not an episode make, even the last one had that one shot of Eileen and that was about all we got plotwise, nothing about the angst divorce call or anything like that, they aren’t going to spoil the plot of one of the more anticipated episodes the week before.

I’m not saying what I want to happen Dean coming out as the chaotic bi he is is going to happen in this episode, maybe he sleeps with that girl, who knows, but I don’t think this is what the final season is about, and hell, every single episode has been so damn good (even Bucklemming’s had its moments) and they are not fucking around here, they are doing their damndest to make this final season as perfect as they can get it, and honestly?  It’s working for me rn.

So I just want everyone to read this and maybe not get up in arms about Dean potentially banging some chick, because he wasn’t looking to get laid, he didn’t even look all that interested, and I think this episode has bigger fish to fry than a one night stand with a girl in a bar who’s named for the guy that “always gets a pass.”

I’m so so so excited about the next episode!
