Sooo i may or may not have become obsessed with the rip!verse (each of your posts make my day and white lighters what a delightful read, holy shit) and i have so many questions! (Pls ma'am... feed us... we need the high quality content you provide...)

1. What is reader's cursed technique? I remember toji saying she had potential upon (brutally) trying to kill her and her examining yuji to... idk, try to seal sukuna, but you've never explicitly said anyting and i am dying to know more (pls help)

2. We all know poor, poor Megumi suffers from the incessant pining between reader and gojo. But what about Yuji and Nobara? And the second years? Do they try to set them together, crossing out the ideas/plans they've already tried, becoming more and more desperate each time it inevitabely fails in the most improbable way? Or does gojo asks for their help?

3. And how could i not talk about the Shibuya Arc? (also known as "gege please for the love of god stop" arc) Where is reader? Did she manage to follow gojo abd watch the... incident unfold? Did she stay behind with Shoko? Did she go with the students? Did she join the kyoto school? How did she react upon learning that gojo was chillin' in his lil cube while the whole world was going to hell? (And did she see Getwo??? What was her reaction??? I have whole scene in mind and am now itching to write it down although i must sleep?? Why??)

(Yep, the rip!verse leaves rent free in my mind. Not that i complain though. It never ceases to amaze me no matter how many times i read it. Plus it inspires me for my own writing so *bows* thank you so much for creating such a bloody brilliant masterpiece! Have a lovely night/day!)

prepare for an info dump + general information on rip!mc which I probably should have typed out/ elaborated on earlier LOL

honestly i'm still working out the details but it's probably going to be something along the lines of the ability to suspend time for a person/object with certain conditions that must be met. but once they're met you can hold it for as long as you wish. It’s not exactly an offensive cursed technique, but deadly if utilized properly! it also comes in handy when trying to study curses!

rip!mc is a historian/researcher who classifies curses which is a fascination which was born after geto left. weirdly, it helps you feel closer to him. your research takes you around the country, and even abroad some times (which gojo despises), but you’re more than well equipped to defend yourself. you trained maki with the polearm!!

I also like the idea of them occasionally teaching as an adjunct professor at Tokyo University (grad student MC ftw), so they know what it’s like to be a teacher, although it’s not exactly the same! the semesters you do teach—you occasionally stay with gojo

the reason why toji said that is bc rip!mc caught toji's eye a split second before he stabbed gojo. since you’re very very sensitive to cursed energy and by default, other people, the pure absence of cursed energy made you instinctively turn. toji was referring to the fact that if you honed your skill a little more, you maybe would have even sensed him!

also the reason why rip!mc is more sensitive to cursed energy than gojo is because he probably automatically filters out the sheer number different cursed energies (since the sensory overload would be crazy while rip!mc never really learned to do that and as a result became more attuned to cursed energies in general)

Also more about the cursed seals! Rip!mc is exceptionally good at making seals because of how sensitive they are to cursed energy. In harmonious, you had to gauge sukuna’s overall (at the time) power in order feel out whether or not you could make a good enough seal (the higher ups requested it) to contain sukuna.

Everyone is tired of gojo’s pining. And suspicious at how oddly ignorant you are. When gojo makes himself at home on your lap in the middle of a meeting for the umpteenth time, and you’re completely unfazed, everyone’s like?????

It kinda goes back to how rip!mc refuses relationships because she knows she’s going to die (hazards of the job), and she’s afraid of leaving a lover behind more than anything (childhood trauma. involves parents), and in her head, friends and lovers are two distinctly different things (they really aren’t). Getting over a friend's death is different from getting over a lover’s death (once again, not really, who’s going to tell her???)

And gojo, for as much as he lacks boundaries (ie; has none) tries to accommodate it the best he can although you’ve always been his. shoko always tells gojo that (like always when it comes to rip!mc) he’s jumping the gun, but he shoots her with finger guns and says that he has no idea what she’s talking about :)

Maybe the reason why you’re never home is because you doesn’t want to confront your feelings haha

When it comes to the nosy students. Nobara likes you but can’t fathom gojo in a relationship. Yuji automatically assumes you and gojo are dating. Maki thinks that you can do so much better than that idiot. Panda thinks it’s cute. Inumaki: Salmon. Yuta sees the way gojo “looks” at you but thinks he’s overthinking it, and doesn’t want to say anything.

Megumi, on the other hand, tells everyone to leave it since he’s a bit protective over rip!mc.

You’re not the only one!! I’ve gotten messages on ao3 asking about the shibuya arc LOL 😭

the reader was called back from Okinawa as backup and reached tokyo as soon as gojo entered the curtain. he texted her saying not to worry (haha). They entered with shoko and yaga to protect her and the patients. And when she hears that gojo’s been sealed, she’s completely bewildered. Gojo can take care of himself wherever he is, she’s more worried about the students than him tbh LOL (gojo is definitely going to whine about that later)

When megumi’s dropped off by yuji (ugh!!!) this is where it could go either way.

1) Shoko sees how worried you are about yuji, whose cursed energy you picked up before he ran away, and tells you to go. You find him but he runs away from you. If this happened I could see a getwo reunion (I’m hurt, did you already forget my face?) where getwo reaches out to touch your hair and gets stopped by surprise, surprise, original geto deep inside. Cue some more body vs soul philosophical talking points before you eventually meet up with the kyoto gang AND utahime!!!

2) Stay with shoko. Eventually get called to the Kyoto group.

Meanwhile inside the prison realm gojo is playing with a ring the size of your ring finger (how he got the measurement nobody knows)

s14 trailer breakdown!!!

okay so from the trailer there are six clear episode plot line we can see- a zoo episode, a laser tag episode, what i will refer to as the ‘melon episode’, dines out 2.0, a noir episode, and an episode where he whole gang seems to have a corporate meeting and then watch a movie at a private screening that they find *very* exciting. So, let’s go through what we can see about these plotlines from the trailer and what we can piece together from bts info, and then look at what’s missing from trailer and what this could mean. buckle in, because my ted talk is about to get started. in the essay i literally will. Let’s go.

So, we have an episode list, but only the description for the first ep, “tg gets romantic”. we know that in “tg chokes” the gang goes to guiginos at least once due to a scene rob leaked on instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/B1NBx6-HOxM/?igshid=yg2ql5uyu4w1, https://www.instagram.com/p/B1zgApEHXhv/?igshid=1ge7qkgw5bm0d), so let’s start there.

We can see the entire opening scene for tg chokes on robs instagram, which shows us the gang are back at guiginos for a meal all together (which is also shown in the trailer). But the trailer has another guiginos scene (where dee appears to have a reaction and the waiter appears to use an epipen on her), where the gang (bar charlie and mac, who both only own one quote unquote “nice” outfit), are all wearing different outfits. So we know they visit guiginos at least twice this season. These more than likely happen in the same episode (what i called “dines out 2.0” before but we know is actually called “the gang chokes”).

Moving on to the laser tag episode. It’s... a laser tag episode. Unfortunately I don’t have much to say about it, but it’s a very clear plotline featuring the whole gang. It’s hard to tell if they wear the same outfits at another point because of the vests, but based on dees shirt i don’t think so. This plotline most likely takes up most or all of an episode (maybe dee day? my girl seems to be really enjoying the laser tag, so maybe?).

Then we have the noir episode, which we know is “the janitor always mops twice”. A whodunnit where the premise is to find out who diarrhoea poisoned frank. features the whole gang + the waitress, based on cast instagrams.

Then we have the screening episode (?) which i will go on record as saying i believe will be the thundergun episode (thundergun 4: maximum cool), but that is just personal speculation and not really based in any “facts” or “real world observations” or whatever pussies and people with small meat base their predictions on. we see the gang in a meeting in a corporate style office (the scene where charlie thinks the window is a two way mirror) and then later towards the end watching something on the big screen in an empty cinema and cheering (wearing the same outfits as before). Personal prediction: they’re gonna try convince a studio to let them make thunder gun 4 like they did with lethal weapon. i WOULD like to point out that in robs instagram pictures with dolph lundgren he is wearing a grey v neck shirt sleeve t shirt and in the shots i just mentioned he was wearing a baseball shirt with a print on it, so just keep that in mind when assessing the realism of this theory. But those might have just been backstage or after shooting pics. Anything is possible in iasip.

Okay, next I’m gonna talk about the zoo episode. This is the first episode i’m gonna discus where there are gang members missing from what i can figure out of the plotline. So, we have a very clear story in the trailer of mac and charlie going to the zoo, seeing the meerkats, charlie pisses on mac. Later in the trailer, frank is shown tormenting a gorilla. dee and dennis do not appear to be at the zoo with them, and kaitlin and glenn don’t seem to have been on set at the zoo based on social media posts. dee and dennis are only seen alone together in one scene during the trailer, which is this puppy (0:05), where they appear to be at some kind of fair/stand/protest or something? I’m not sure what it is, but dee appears to be texting while dennis laughs mockingly at her, so potentially (WILD SPECULATION ALERT) the zoo episode is the gang texts and dee and dennis have the main plot of this episode. this is the only dee and dennis solo scene in the trailer however we do have unaccounted for plotlines so this could be a part of that and their plot in this episode may not have a shot in the trailer.

Finally (not finally, but lastly out of the plotlines i have lovingly sherlock-ed together), we have the melon episode. This is probably the episode the trailer gave us the most information about, and we can out together almost a whole plotline from these shots. This seems from the trailer to be crickets only episode of the season, although there is a video of david hornsby on robs instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/B1zEOJjnPG8/?igshid=yfciekezwnc3) of him wearing a different outfit, so maybe there’s another episode in store for rickety cricks this season.

The gang appear to be watching a show in the bar, dennis tells them to shut up so he can watch, they gasp and remark how much they love the show, although dee says the plot is absurd. Dennis says humans are stupid and should be eradicated, which is met with agreement. Seems like we’re gonna have some good ol fashioned meta references this season, folks! Anyways, after this they somehow stumble across franks melon in a safe, ask him and it, and drop it from a ladder (from which cricket catches it). they also seem to be looking at the office computer while dee gags. this looks to be a classic “gang finds a thing and is surprised and intrigued by it so investigate but in an idiot way” episode, although we don’t know what frank is up to during this melon madness. he doesn’t seem to wear that shirt at any other point during the trailer. hmmmmmmm frank wyd

that brings me to the end of clear episodes in the trailer, but there are a few other things that, while they don’t really fit in with any specific plot, gives us a little info about what else is going on this season.

we have a plotline where frank is in the waiters house with him and his mother, not sure what the gang is up to but we see frank wear that shirt earlier in the trailer with charlie. we don’t not see charlie wear his shirt again in the trailer so it’s most likely a plot not in the trailer. there’s also a shot of frank and charlie in their pjs in their apartment, potentially from the first episode (tg gets romantic) as according the episode description it appears to be the episode this flyer is from (https://www.instagram.com/p/B1ZZB-PnDeB/?igshid=nta7myvov0t2), which would make sense for the boys in their pjs, although they could really do that at any point in the season. we ALSO see mac and dennis in their apartment, also in pjs, talking about lunatics. this is likely from the same episode as the charlie & frank pj shot to mirror them, which strengthens the argument that it’s from the first episode due to both sets of guys having the same set up and problem just in different ways (both advertise for a person to come live with them, it goes wrong). dee is also there in this macden shot. maybe she is the lunatic in question? idk. we have dee and mac on what looks like a basketball court, dee is dancing, and after that we also have mac and charlie in the macden apartment and mac tries to swipe charlie’s boaba. i have no idea about these, so i don’t have much to say. just thought i’d bring em up.

NOW, onto what we didn’t see in the trailer. we KNOW there is an episode with poppins because of this instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/p/B01Cqu4nwMK/?igshid=1cc2y1uvonml0). none of the outfits these three are wearing come up in the trailer, so i’m forced to believe this is an episode we have not seen any shots of yet. not sure what dee and dennis are doing. it could be that shot i mentioned before in the zoo section, but we can’t be sure. we didn’t seem to see anything about the global warming episode that has been teased, either.

so let’s recap what we know (or what i think i know). there’s ten episodes this season. we can deduce six coherent plots from the trailer (laser tag, noir, zoo, melon, chokes, potential thundergun). we know there’s an episode with poppins with mac charlie & frank, and the global warming episode. the first episode is tg gets romantic, which we have the description of and most likely those pj shots. so that’s nine plotlines overall we seem to have a grasp on right now. i believe the one we don’t have any info for right now is the finale, and that both the plot details and the shots are being kept under wraps so that the finale is more hard hitting when it comes out. i do believe they’re gonna go hard, we’re living post mfhp, anything is possible, and last seasons finale is an awful lot to top. i can’t even guess at the finale plot. i am so excited.

so that’s my official trailer breakdown and review, i hope this was coherent and if you know anything else or know that im wrong about something please tell me, i’m just so excited i want to have as clear a picture as possible bcs i can’t wait to know what the seasons gonna be!!!!!!

hey everyone!!! it’s so lovely to meet y’all & i’m really excited to be here! this is going to be a bit of a mess i’m sorry but i’ll try keep it concise ( or, at least, coherent ) ! i’m jane, i live in new zealand and we’re currently in nzdt ( gmt +13 ) but usually it’s just +12. i’m twenty, turning twenty-one in a few weeks ( december nineteen!! so close to christmas yikes ) aaaand just finished my b.a.? except i might be doing honours next year so we’ll see! anyway this is miss mary mac and she’s... a mess lmao. a disaster. i love her, but, A Mess™

( CHLOE BENNET, SHE/HER ) — MARY MACDONALD? oh, you mean the TWENTY-ONE year old MUGGLEBORN. they’re working as a BARTENDER now, aren’t they ? I’ve heard they’re really LOYAL, but i know for a fact that they can be RECKLESS at times. No wonder they’ve decided to SIDE WITH THE ORDER.

this is a ramble but i have an about for mary which sort of covers some of her general stuff + some specific things about her at hogwarts and it is here ( if you would like to read that, i would maybe read this first bc that stuff is more detailed so this might be a better initial overview? )

i’ll try to do some quick points here though to both expand on that + be a more concise guide

mary’s welsh! from a lil seaside town called rhyl. she can speak welsh but she doesn’t often have much occasion to, but if your character knows any welsh at all... hit her up. she’ll be delighted + it’s a GREAT language to make secret plots in and talk about things in front of people w/o them knowing bc it’s not so common

she’s a muggleborn & people who were at school w her ( not all, but some ) will probably remember an Incident™ involving mulciber and either dark magic or a harmless prank, depending on what side you fall on ( honestly probably somewhere in between — a sadistic prank which utilised dark magic which is still Terrible ), because lbr hogwarts is dreadful at keeping secrets so i imagine at least most of her year group heard at least something about it, if not specifics, and also probably some gryffindors and slytherins in other houses

( sidenote but pranks at hogwarts are fucking dark, at least during marauders’ era, damn )

mary is a reactive creature which is Not Good for her bc she combines that with some pretty poor emotional processing skills ( she’s good with other people’s emotions, generally; it’s just hers that she’s useless with ) and that leads to.... Poor Coping Mechanisms, though they can be hard to pin down

mostly she just became ?? more ?? she’s always been impulsive and had trouble with authority, but following that incident, she became even more recalcitrant and volatile and it’s just ?? it’s noticeable ( though it’s been a few years since the shift occurred and hasn’t reversed and doesn’t look like it will ) but hard to define because she’s always had those traits, now they’re just magnified

stubborn and unflinching and loyal and her patronus is a wolfhound but one of her friends used to joke that maybe it should have been a mule and honestly ?? rude but probably not fake

she’s a bit too unflinching when it comes to death eaters and stuff because she’s sorta like... well i mean they already tried dark magic, what else are they gonna do ?? which is... a bad survival instinct but she’s never claimed that was her strength

too compassionate and empathetic. it’s a real problem. messes with her head a lot bc she still doesn’t really believe anyone isn’t worth saving and she’s so mad about that bc she really feels like she should have been able to learn from what happened at school and write people off and she just... can’t? it’s not that she doesn’t think death eaters are the worst — she totally does and she’s not particularly shy about it — but rather that it still doesn’t mean she’d be okay with leaving them in a burning building. she would try to save pretty much anyone ( definitely a stranger because she doesn’t know them and can’t judge them, though definitely not voldemort because genocidal maniac ) tbf. though, jury’s out as to whether that would hold if someone she held dear to her heart was killed

loooooves rock and punk music. wizarding or muggle, she’s super into it. she likes music in general, and grabbing a friend and dancing around the room or something, but rock and punk are her favourites

allergic to cherries but a whiz at mixology and cooking breakfast foods. french toast is her four am comfort food. she also believes in mixology being about instinct and stuff, so if you’ve explicitly said so or she reckons you’d be down for it, she may be a little instinctive with the mix of your drink, but she’s usually pretty good at getting it down

she’s fast, both reflex-wise and physically ( she was also a very fast flier — chaser at hogwarts, and notable mostly for her immense speed and her willingness to push the limits beyond what was reasonable and be reckless with her safety in order to make the play; with speed like hers, she probably should have been a seeker, but she’s always worked better with people around her, so chaser was the best position ), and given that she’s useless with healing magic, it’d be v smart if she would use that speed to run away from dangerous situations but, alas, running away has never been a strength of hers

she just !!! she cares so much !!! and she makes so many bad decisions and her preferred way of handling problems is to avoid them and she’s always down for a laugh and a drink but she’s also a pretty good listener and she loves the banter and can absolutely be snarky and irreverent but she just cares so much and she’s not very good at expressing that in any way other than laughing affection and sidestepping any discussions about her own feelings but do not be fooled !! she cares !! it’s why she’s in this fight — not because it pertains to her, although it absolutely does, but because it pertains to her friends. she’s never been any good at letting someone go in alone

she also really likes comics from when she was a kid growing up ( escapism in your own reality, i guess, though it eventually turned out that she had magic which was the ultimate escapism and, more importantly, it was real ) and still references superheroes sometimes and her biggest regrets in life are that she currently owns neither a dog nor a motorcycle but at least she has a tattoo of a dragon on her ankle. she likes dragons and comc in general. she spent way too much time in detention at school but it didn’t even feel like a punishment when it involved work with the groundskeeping or comc. ( cleaning, however, was another matter. )

ANYWAY i’m not sure how coherent or helpful that was but there’s my lil mac! she goes by mary, mac, pretty much any nickname that’s understandably hers and not offensive is fair game tbh. please feel free to IM me if you wanna plot or like this post and i’ll come to you!!! x
