“Is Satoru in here?”

You poke a head into the teacher’s lounge, expecting to at least see Ijichi and one other auxiliary manager or personnel lounging, waiting for the coffee to dispense. Instead, you see Megumi, Nobara, and Yuuji hovering over a seated, unmoving Satoru.

Well, Nobara and Yuuji hover. Apprehensively, they peer down at him as if examining some unknown specimen, and the two of them regroup to whisper amongst themselves for a possible explanation. Megumi supervises them, back to the wall across the room, arms crossed, face vaguely suspicious.

Yuuji and Nobara greet you with waves. Megumi straightens when you approach.

“Gojo-sensei wasn’t in class,” is the explanation he offers, eyeing Satoru’s figure. “We thought he was slacking.”

A smile nudges at your lips. “So you thought you’d find him here.” 

Satoru is sleeping, gaze shielded by his typical blindfold. You can tell in the almost uncanny stillness of his body. Although his students might not be able to, convinced that a prank is underway. It’s a nostalgic sight. Satoru doesn’t sleep often. Not anymore. Once, he would’ve fallen asleep on your shoulder after a particularly rigorous day while you struggled to support the full weight of his body slumped on your side. Until Suguru yanked him over to his shoulder anyway.

Now he stays awake through the nights, awake when you sleep, awake when you inevitably rise, ready to supply you with an endless amount of good morning!’s and murmured good night’s.

Nobara nods resolutely. “On three.” There’s a hammer in her hand.

Yuuji gulps. “Roger that.”

Megumi pinches the bridge of his nose. Exhales.

The lines of Satoru’s lips imperceptibly twitch. 

You slowly walk over to Satoru, and meet the covered line of his sight, his head resting on a slightly reclined cushion.

“Hey,” you greet softly. “It’s rare to see you asleep.”

Satoru pulls his blindfold down to his neck, revealing his open gaze directly on yours. An easy smile curves his lips and softens his expression. “Who said I was sleeping?” He hums. “Just resting my eyes for a bit.”

“So he was sleeping—”

Yuuji’s voice wavers with awe. “You could tell?”

“Yaga-sensei’s looking for you,” you tell him.

Satoru huffs. “That's why you came to find me? Tell him I’m sleeping.” His fingers reach up, brush at your cheek. Nobara gags as Megumi corrals her and Yuuji and drags them out the door. His voice is airily unbothered. “I had a dream.”

The words take you aback. You consider your nightmares to be dreaded, dreamless sleeps to be a relief. Dreams are rare. “Was it a happy one?”

You hope for his sake, it was.

He briefly lowers his eyes, as if caught in a distant memory. “Happy enough," he says, rising to his feet and gazing at you. "But you know, I think I prefer reality."

You can look through everything I've rec'd in my sera reads tag but it's not organized at all, so it won't be sorted by character or anything. There's probably a lot of Gojo in there though! I haven't read as much for Yuuta but I love him enough that there will probably be more in the future. Obviously check the byf/dni of everyone before you interact as well!

minors dni | if you like Gojo and Yuuta, @princess-okkotsu was a a Gojo girl before she was Yuuta's most ardent supporter so you might really like her work! She has a wip office romance about Gojo that I dream about every day so you should look forward to that because I am!

minors dni | @seoafin is completely unparalleled at what she does. Morgan does a fantastic job at weaving really poignant and human themes into her work without hitting you over the head with it. Ripverse is universally famous at this point but if you want to buddy read Dog Days Are Over with me I have reviews for it in my recs tag! Super recommend DDAO, along with all her other works. This is my review for chapter one. I'm reading chapter four right now! We can cry together 💜

minors dni | @mintmatcha is obviously well known for all the right reasons but my personal faves are vignettes and this unnamed thing for Gojo, both of which I have reviews for. Don't ask me about how I feel about vignettes because I can't go through that again, it's all in the tags I left. My favorite line from the unnamed fic is "If I were normal, I would have let you hold my hand." Doesn't that make you want to scream?

minors dni | @yeowchies Whet Your Appetite was sooo delicious. It does an absolutely incredible job of really making you feel the tension in the relationship, the push and pull dynamics, and the burgeoning attraction!

@shiinleaf I'm actually embarrassed that I don't think I've had the chance to read anything by Xin yet but this post she made makes me feel so insane, so feel free to peruse her masterlist!

@stellamancer I'm in the middle of reading and reviewing Niku's merman series Shine On The Sea now! I've had the privilege to listen to her thoughts on this fic in the dms, so even though I haven't read it yet, I know it's going to be good. She also has several wips for Gojo that I'm insane about - keep an eye out for this whenever she's ready! Isn't it so good?

@shotorus I haven't had the chance to read it yet but Sel said she wrote Do You Believe In Love with Teen Dad! Gojo in mind, so if you liked that universe of mine, I'm sure you'll like this too!

do u have any fic/author recs at the moment? for any of ur fandoms!

TONS, but here's a short list of authors and fics that I adore. All of the following authors are absolute inspirations to me and I thank them for putting their creations into the world, for us to read.

Just a heads up, I adore dark content so a lot of the writers and fics I will recommend will contain said content.

@seoafin writes for Jujutsu Kaisen, but they also have some writings for Trigun. Their characterizations are incredibly on point and I adore their takes on Geto and Gojo, including the dynamics between them + the protagonist of their AU ripverse.

@strawberrygodzilla has a fic about Zenos that BEATS ASS and their character voice for Zenos (and every other character including the WOL) is so clear and accurate like every time they write Zenos's dialogue I'm like... "wow, he really WOULD say that". I've teared up several times reading their fic here, at the end of all things.

@chickenparm, whose profile I religiously check on ao3 and just discovered has a blog on tumblr, writes BANGER Genshin fanfics with to die for smut. Their fics about Childe are among my favorite. Give of Yourself has stuck with me in particular.

@softagenda has been providing the Touchstarved fandom with easily some of its best fanfictions, expanding on concepts introduced in the demo and adding some of their own world building. My favorite fic of theirs is silver linings.

@ddarker-dreams just has a way of writing and worldbuilding that really takes my breath away. The amount of depth and forethought put into her Blade fic, Nexus, still stuns and awes me a month after its completion. She's written heaps for Genshin Impact and is now starting on a JJK series. She also writes a lot about Chrollo Lucifer, from HxH. I haven't watched a single episode of the show, but she has somehow made me invested in this character. Whenever I see mention of him elsewhere, I go "ah, the man ddarker-dreams writes about".

@lorelune writes for Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and JJK. I love their work but their little blurbs they post every now and then also completely have my whole heart. their hybrid AU Blade fic hell is a hound without a chain has been living in my head ever since they dropped it. I adore their characterization of Blade and Jing Yuan in particular! Their Gojo fic dawn instinct hits me so hard.

@agent-cupcake writes for FFXIV AND JJK but I found them through Fire Emblem Three Houses. I've been following their work for awhile and I adore each and every piece. Their prose is beautiful and their dark content is to die for. I'm biased so my favorite piece is Asteria, but I also am continuously obsessed with Raison D'etre, Vae Victis (FFXIV), Femme Fatale and living idly and dying as if dreaming.

@hawnks is a fantastic writer who I discovered through her soulmate AU fics. coincide and the first law of motion are absolute classics, but she's been writing a soulmate series for Gojo which has been utterly fascinating for far. I would also like to thank her for introducing me and many others to Guideverse which I would love to write something on in the future!

carver briggs has always been able to see ghosts. he sees them on street corners. on the playground of bethany’s half-abandoned k-12 school. in the grocery store.

he sees them in his bathroom mirror. his sister catie, dead at age eight, screams noiselessly for justice over her brother’s shoulder.

when a ghost lures him into a strange crypt during his father’s funeral, he finds himself in a place of sulfur and ash and heat—not bethany. nothing like bethany. and when he stumbles back out, the door refuses to close behind him.

he tries to keep it a secret. but then his next-door neighbors, the kids of the rich and powerful heaths, get involved with the help of a wayward angel, and it all goes to hell.

or it will, if he can’t get that door shut.

Carver’s first memory was of his sister’s funeral. He was eight on the edge of nine, standing in the shadow of his mother’s floor-length skirt while the church aunties filed past. All of them had the same perfectly-curled hair and dark-rouged cheeks, and they offered the same comforts: a kiss on the cheek for his mother; a sharp-clawed hand ruffling his hair; a sad glance at Catie in the casket that was far too large for her.

This, then, was where his life began: Whitman and Valdez Funeral Home, couched in the tall golden grain of Bethany, Kansas, surrounded by all hundred-thirteen of its residents.

Carver paused just inside the door of the funeral home’s chapel. It had been ten years since he stood on the dais last, and now it seemed he was doomed to repeat the same thing over again. Except he wasn’t crying this time as his mother talked to Mr. Valdez in his sharp-cut black suit, their voices too hushed to be heard as they debated the placement of flowers and the appropriate verses to be read.

im sorry i know hs era geto was horrible to be around with gojo but he's genuinely so kind and charming around you. the perfect gentleman. it's not as if he isn't all these things and more, and it's not as if you don't see him at his worst (with gojo egging him on in all the condescending, cocky glory afforded to two boys who called themselves the strongest) you're just so used to how he frees his schedule just to help you carry bagged heavy soil across campus because you've started to tend to the flowerbed outside the dorms, all the times he's offered you his jacket in the cold, and how he's so patient with you when the two of you go out. he's just...so selective about who gets him like that it always takes you more than a second to register the switch. seeing his familiar smile curl with a hint of condescension, not enough that he appears genuinely invested, but just enough that any person on the receiving end of it is going to get flustered. or the way he brushes them off with nothing more than a glance and a comment that could be taken the wrong way (it's meant to be) and it all gives you so much whiplash especially when he turns a real genuine smile on you and gently takes your hand and leads you away.

This is a fair question and that’s because if I were to write Shoko x reader I don’t think I’d do her justice. But I’ve done a SSS trio post and hope to do more for them. (Also I ship her with myself so bad it’s not even funny so I don’t want to fall into that rabbit hole ah). I might need to wait until Akutami includes her more before I start writing for her!
