When We Were Young Part Two
Part One | Next Part | Masterlist Pairing: Sherlock Holmes x Reader
Rating: T
Notes: Not beta-read
Warnings: Uuuuuh none
Summary: You’d only caught glimpses of Mycroft when he’d returned to Ferndell, but it was so unmistakably him.
Tumblr media
You thanked the attendant that put your luggage on the overhead rack before you settled in your seat. Part of you had considered lingering on the platform, looking around and waiting for Sherlock, but it felt ridiculous. He’d surely been winding you up the day before; he’d done that when you were younger, when Mycroft had already started to tick you off, and had grown bored with your ‘antics’ as he’d call them (even at that age). Sherlock knew, back then, that it wouldn’t take much longer before you were on the verge of tears and stomping off to Eudoria. As you’d gotten older and looked back, you’d realized that that was just a tactic to get you to go away. Why he’d bothered to act as such last night, though, you simply didn’t understand. You leaned back, a book in your hands as you waited for the train to depart. “Have you room for two more?” You straightened and turned your head at the sound of Sherlock’s voice, brows raised at the sight of him standing in the doorway to the compartment. “I’m only seeing one of you at the moment,” You said. “Mycroft will be right along.” You carefully shielded your displeasure, but the quirk of Sherlock’s brow told you that you weren’t careful enough. You gestured to the seat across from yourself before returning your attention to your book. Sherlock sat directly across from you, a book and a notebook in his own hands. You eyed them with interest before lowering your eyes to your book again.
“What are you reading?” Sherlock asked as he opened his own book. “North and South,” you answered. “Do you like it?” You did, quite a bit, but you weren’t sure you wanted Sherlock making a mockery of the subject matter, or your swooning over Mr. Thornton. But then you remembered what he’d told you a few days ago about your handwriting, ‘You’re outspoken, comfortable in your own skin’. “Yes, I do,” You answered crisply, turning the page. There was a moment of silence between you before you asked, “Have you any news about Enola’s whereabouts?” “No.” You pursed your lips. Somehow you didn’t believe that; maybe you didn’t want to. Sherlock was brilliant. If he had no leads, there was a higher likelihood of Enola being lost. “Would you tell me if you did?” You asked. Sherlock didn’t answer right away, and when you glanced up, you found him watching you, eyes gentle.
“I know you’re worried about her, dove,” He said softly. It was so straightforward, still utterly Sherlock, but for once, this acknowledgement of your emotion didn’t feel like an indictment. You lowered your eyes to your book again, fully intending to focus, but you could feel the weight of Sherlock’s gaze on you still. “Ah, there you are, Sherlock.” Your attentions were averted at the sound of another voice at the door of the compartment. You’d only caught glimpses of Mycroft when he’d returned to Ferndell, but it was so unmistakably him. He regarded you with a pleased shock as he stepped inside, removing his hat and sitting beside Sherlock. “You look like you’ve rather grown up to be... Well, respectable,” He said, eyes carefully sweeping your person. You arched a brow. “And you look like you’ve rather grown up,” You returned before you shifted in your seat, fully intending to return to your reading. “Your parents are in good health?” Mycroft pressed, insistent on upholding the rules of polite conversation, despite it only being the three of you. “They are well as can be expected,” You answered with a polite nod. “And you are well?” “I am, thank you, Mr. Holmes.” A pause, you assumed a respite as you turned back to your book. “You are... Unmarried?” Mycroft asked. You bristled, fingers tightening around your book as you lifted your eyes to his again. A fair question - hands covered in gloves, Mycroft wouldn’t be able to see a ring if you’d been wearing one. “Yes,” You confirmed. “And yet you travel alone,” He observed, “Quite precarious for a woman in your position.” You knew better than this. You weren’t going to sink to the level of Mycroft’s ridiculous little game - you could see his spoiling to rile you up, his eagerness to call you on your impending outburst. He was waiting for it. Instead, you let your shoulders sag a little, your head tip to the side as you regarded him. “Needs must, Mr. Holmes. Unfortunately my father isn’t well enough to travel, which is one of the things that’s necessitating my travel into London in the first place. If he were well, or if my parents had been fortunate enough to have sons, as yours had been, I might not be in this situation. But if you’d be so kind as to lend yourself as my companion for the duration of this journey, I’d be incredibly grateful,” You answered in a steady voice, offering Mycroft a bashful smile. Mycroft’s excitement spoiled so fast you swore his mustache wilted a little. He faltered, clearing his throat before nodding and mumbling a, “It would be my privilege,” before opening his newspaper and shielding himself behind it. Once he was out of sight you allowed your smile to drop, and you rolled your eyes as you sat up straight. You made to turn back to your book, eyes catching on Sherlock’s on the way. He was smiling, fully, warmly - something you hadn’t seen directed at you in a long time. You felt a thrill run through you, and you couldn’t help the small smile, a real one, that grew on your own lips at the sight. Neither of you spoke, just returned to your respective reading materials. -- The train ride was spent in amiably awkward silence; Mycroft reading a paper and tutting over the reform bill, Sherlock and yourself immersed in your own books. Now and again you’d feel him watching you over the top of his, and you’d feel the urge to squirm, or bring your book up a little higher to block him out of your field of vision, but you kept carefully still. You wouldn’t let him get to you as he had on the path back from Ferndell. You’d been kicking yourself all night for snapping at him the way you had, letting him get the better of you. But what had bothered you, more than the fact that you’d started to lose your temper, was the fact that he’d actually seemed affected by what you said. The look in his eyes, the little clench of his jaw - and then to push it all down in a second. You’d wondered if that was what he needed to do in order to work on these cases, set the emotion aside, hone in on the facts. But you weren’t a case. You tried not to dwell, to instead focus on your book, but knowing he was watching you, that he was so close by, was just so distracting. -- “I trust you’ve someone to meet you at the station?” You’d said what you’d said to get a rise out of Mycroft, but he seemed to be taking his role as companion very seriously. “I have, yes. My uncle,” You nodded, closing your book and folding your hands atop it as the train pulled into the station. You’d hardly read a word after a certain point, you’d merely been turning the pages for the sake of appearances. “Your father’s brother?” Sherlock asked. “Mother’s,” You corrected. His brow furrowed at that, and he loosed a, “Hm.” “Problem?” You asked. Sherlock shook his head before directing his gaze out of the window. You took the moment to look over his profile, admire his strong jaw and the curl of his hair. You didn’t let yourself longer too long, strongly aware of the fact that Mycroft was still there. Sherlock and Mycroft were both out of their seats as soon as the train stopped. Sherlock offered his hand to you. You took it, letting him help you up. You loosened your grip on his hand, and he took a moment to do the same before he reached up, fetching your luggage down from the overhead rack. Mycroft stepped back, gesturing for you to go. You stepped out ahead of them, nodding in thanks. They followed you out of the compartment and off of the train. "I know you two have quite a bit to do, you don’t have to wait with me,” You offered as they stopped on either side of you. “Nonsense,” Mycroft said crisply, “I wouldn’t dare leave a lady unattended.” He offered you his arm, and you saw that glint in his eye, still egging you on. You matched it with the smile you’d given him before, wrapping your arm around his as you headed for the entrance, Sherlock trailing close behind. “There’s my uncle,” You said as soon as you spotted your Uncle Cornelius. He was smiling, red-cheeked (likely from the sherry he’d already dipped into and not a mid-morning chill). You made the necessary introductions to Mycroft, but when you turned to Sherlock, you narrowed your eyes, “I presume you two have already met?” Cornelius opened his mouth to contradict you, but the additional darkening in his cheeks told you that you were right. You let out your own knowing, “Hm.”  Mycroft cleared his throat. “I’ll get us a hansom,” He addressed Sherlock. He nodded to Cornelius, then yourself before stepping away. Cornelius reached out, taking your bag from Sherlock. “Do I even want to know how you two are acquainted?” You asked, clasping your hands behind your back and turning a sweet smile up at the both of them. “Mr. Holmes was kind enough to... Assist me with a personal matter last year,” Cornelius admitted. You nodded. “I see,” You said, “And this wouldn’t have anything to do with the actress that you took up with that subsequently tried sell your Rembrandt to the Louvre without your say-so, would it?” Cornelius let out a shaky, embarrassed laugh, eyes darting between yourself and Sherlock. You nodded, sighing, “Right.” “Sherlock!” Mycroft called from a ways away. You all turned at the sound of his voice to see him waving Sherlock away. You looked up at Sherlock. “If you find anything out about Enola--” “I will let you know,” He nodded. He glanced at Cornelius before he turned to face you fully. “Might I call on you while we’re both in town? -- If I have an update on Enola,” He clarified. You nodded. “Of course,” You said. Sherlock nodded. He turned, shaking Cornelius’ hand and saying his goodbyes before he left with Mycroft. You watched the two of them disappear into the crowd before you turned back to see your Uncle Cornelius eyeing you curiously. “What?” You asked, frowning. “I believe, my dear, that you are interested.” Your frown deepened to a scowl. “Try not to read too deeply into a woman’s interest, Uncle. You may find yourself short another Dutch Old Master.”

breakfast;
rating: general. implied sexual content but nothing graphic. lets call it pg-13
pairing: summerseed ( john x tobias )
words: 1430
summary: happy pride month ! i actually started this last week but im just finishing and editing it now. tobias makes john breakfast in this one and theres lots of gay shit
----------x----------
It's still early when the idea strikes Tobias- at least, early for him. It surprises him that he can still feel John in bed next to him, can still hear him mumbling in his sleep in the midst of a dream. Hadn't he mentioned taking a day off? That made his idea even more perfect, didn't it?
Fortunately ( or unfortunately, depending on how he thought about it ), John was currently sleeping with his back to him, which made it much easier to slip gently out of bed than if he had to pry himself out of his grip.
At a hint of motion, John turns over, still obviously asleep, grasping for where Tobias had just lain and seeming distressed when he finds nothing in the space. Thinking fast, the blonde slips his pillow from it's place at the head of the bed, pushing it gently towards his husbands reaching arms. It works like a charm- he wraps around it as easily as he would if it actually were him, sleep becoming peaceful once more.
Tobias could watch him sleep for hours, and on previous occasions he had, but this morning he's on a mission. He pads out of their shared bedroom lightly, closing the door behind him with a feather-light touch. John slept in so rarely- it simply wouldn't do for anything to wake him up. Especially when there was still so much work to be done.
Through the living room, into the kitchen- the hardwood floor is cool under his feet, except where late morning light pours in through the windows to warm it. Seed Ranch is serene at this time of day, something straight out of a cottagecore fantasy. If you could call their sprawling estate home a "cottage", that is. The thought makes him laugh.
This was second nature to him, a routine that even before this place he had done most every morning. It was more special, here- something he chose to do and not something he was forced to do. The fridge was usually well stocked, and today was no exception- it gives him a chill when he peeks into it. The blueberries he had picked fresh from their backyard garden sit, enticingly brightly colored, in a Tupperware on the second shelf.
Perfect.
It doesn't take him long- combining ingredients, frying bacon, slicing bread he had baked just the other night for thick, golden toast- or at least, it doesn't feel like it's taken him that long. Truthfully, Tobias finds it impossibly easy to lose himself in domestic activities. He's flipping a pancake dotted with plump blueberries when a set of arms wraps firm around his waist, the soft contrast of lips against his neck followed in a shiver-inducing way by the scratch of John's beard against sensitive skin.
"You didn't think that pillow would fool me forever, did you, my dear?" he still sounds half asleep- there's a husky tone to his usually smooth voice that summons butterflies to Tobias' stomach.
"I sure hoped it wouldn't. You'd miss breakfast."
"Breakfast?" he seems to notice what Tobias is doing for the first time- the smaller man can feel his lips curve up into a smile against the curve of his jawline. "Mmnn, you know your blueberry pancakes are my favorite. Whats the occasion?"
"The occasion?" Tobias giggles under his breath. "Well, I woke up in bed next to the most handsome man I'd ever seen. And then I saw the ring on his finger matched mine, so...."
This time John laughs, a sound like rich, dripping honey that he's sure must be the undiscovered secret cure for something. It makes what he is sure must be the dopiest grin alive stretch at the corners of his mouth. "You really are an angel, you know that?"
Tobias laughs with him in turn and he is finishing another pancake for the stack, starting a fresh ladle of thick batter against the gently popping oil despite being restrained by John's arms as he is. It was a necessity, really, developing that skill- John never let him go when he didn't have to, and that was how he preferred it. "Takes one to know one."
John's laughter brushes just lightly against the shell of his ear this time, and the flame of hot sensation it sends right down his spine to pool in his stomach is enough to almost make him drop the spatula he's holding. He can tell John saw it, too- he can practically hear the satisfaction in his voice when it comes to the power he holds over his little husband. "Careful, wildflower. Don't burn yourself."
He's already burning in a much different way. Tobias is sure he already knows. He flips the last finished pancake off into the pre-prepared plate, turning his head a bit to face him and leaning up to place a gentle kiss against his lips that sparks with sweet electricity. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were trying to seduce me, Mr. Seed."
"Oh really? Did I wake up and make you a breakfast fit for a king?"
"Mmmn, you caught me. I almost decided to do it in nothing but my apron." It sounds awkward, coming from him, like he feels it always does when he attempts to be charming in the same effortless way John is, but the tightening of John's arms around his waist and the little shuddering breath he muffles against the skin of his throat are a fine indication that he thought otherwise. He would have to explore that idea more later- today, they have all the time in the world. "Why don't you go sit, get comfortable, and I'll make you a plate?"
"If you keep spoiling me like this, Joseph will make a law against it."
"God himself couldn't stop me from spoiling you, much less Joseph. Now go," Another kiss, this time in parting. It would only be for a few minutes, but it still feels necessary. "Sit."
"Sir yes sir." John's warmth pulls away from him, leaving him to his labor of love. He can hear the shift of chair legs against the hardwood floor, can hear him barely suppress a yawn and a soft moan as he stretches. He can picture it in his head clear as day, as he arranges food on of John's fancy plates- a little dab of butter here, some syrup there, bacon and toast arranged just so. It doesn't have to look perfect, but he takes it as a personal bit of pride that it does- or at least, as close to perfect as he can recreate.
Tobias slides it across the table towards him, finishing off the picture with a fork and a tall glass of fresh, cold milk from the fridge. The seat next to him is absent, of course, and he takes it, unwilling to be too far from him for too long. There- now it's perfect.
"Aren't you going to have some?"
"I...Uh.." Tobias just stares at him, suddenly flushed hot in embarrassment as he realizes his mistake, and the look that slides over John's face is endearingly exasperated.
"Did you only make enough for me again?"
"....Ahaha, old habits die hard, I guess." He had always been the one to make breakfast, but never for himself.
"That just means we get to share, doesn't it?"
"You don't have to d-" Tobias starts to protest, but is quickly silenced as John shoves a fork loaded with blueberry pancake into his open mouth. He has to admit, he's really outdone himself with this batch. He hums low in approval, eyes fluttering for a moment, and from this close John's answering laugh practically brushes against his skin.
"That's what I thought."
"Okay, okay..." He can't help but smile, watching his husband fork a bite for himself. His hair is messy and unkempt, the usual tension in his shoulders dissolved into a pleasant slope. It occurs to him, like it often does, how few people have gotten to see him this way- his heart swells in his chest, warm and saccharine. How could he possibly deny him the chance to share his breakfast, if that was what he wanted? How could he possibly deny him anything? "A few bites can't hurt. But I'm making you a snack later, okay?"
"Hmmmmm." He considers for a moment, twirling his fork in a circular motion, before a downright illegal sort of expression slides over his handsome features. "How about I have you for a snack later?"
Tobias' stomach fills with the beat of wings.
"Deal."

Rewatch: Mahou Tsukai Precure Ep 2
Tumblr media
For the record, I am always going to be that little girl excited to go magic school for the first time.
You won’t take that away from me, EVAH!
Hello, hello again and welcome to episode 2 of our rewatch marathon!
Unfortunately (or fortunately, hahaha), I couldn’t make it shorter since I have to talk about everything but I did finish it by Sunday so yay~!
Oh, and I’m going to switch to using the terms “witch/wizard” in place of “mage” from now on. The rough translation of “魔法使い” (mahoutsukai) is literally “magic user” but it can also be exchanged with words like “mage”, “sorcerer”, “magician” so technically, it’s not wrong. “Witch” and “wizard” can also have more specific translations ( (魔女, majo & 魔道士, madoushi, respectively) but I still feel they’re more appropriate for MahoPre’s setting. It just depends how you interpret the context, I guess.
Tumblr media
Starting with the Snailiner.
I mean, it’s a giant snail train transporting you between worlds.
That’s so friggin’ awesome!! *squees* xDD
Tumblr media
And here are our Muggle newbies, taking in the inter-realm sights for all its worth.
But that’s not as important as OMGERD, Mofurun’s lil’ tail twitching in wonder and curiosity! KYAAAAA~!!!
Tumblr media
Mofurun smooshing her nose to the glass to get a closer look~!!
SO BABEY, IT HURTS!!!!
(੭ु ›ω‹ )੭ु⁾⁾♡
Tumblr media
Riko, however, is eager to get down to business and tries to get an answer on how Mofu-chan came to life...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But these two are just too happy that they can talk to each other now that they don’t really care about the whys or the whats of the hows and UGH!
My heart! *clutches chest*
♡(。>ˇ艸<)
God, we know Mirai has probably been talking to Mofurun since she could first utter words (and likely baby gabbled to her before that, too) but imagine how long that wait must have been for Mofurun! Never knowing if there will ever be chance for her to tell Mirai know how much she loves her and everything!
I’m so happy Mofu-baby got her wish in the end! <3
Tumblr media
Oh, Riko...
You’re in for a lot of these non-answers, I’m afraid. (^ ^ ;;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is Mirai’s turn to ask the questions and of course, she wants to know what Precure is.
We already know how this goes as a yearly tradition but it’s interesting how centuries/extensively long periods of time can embellish a legend so much that it differs significantly from how it was originally told or what it actually means.
The way Riko explains it, it’s as if Precure has appeared in the world before when in reality, Mirai and Riko are in fact the very first Precure (in this universe).
The conditions match up because (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD):
1) The “magic” (Precure) Mother Rapapa mentioned before her passing will occur when the two worlds come together again. Cue a person from the Mundane World (Mirai) meeting and teaming up with a person from the Magic World (Riko) to fulfill that prophecy. Also note that before these two, no pair like them has ever showed up since Mother Rapapa’s death even though the Magic World has already found ways to travel to the Mundane World and back long ago.
2) Mother Rapapa’s powers are implied to take on the form of Linkle Stones. That said, they disappeared when she did...until they reappeared with the arrival of Precure. We can take that to mean that Precure are the inheritors of Rapapa’s will, to reunite the separate worlds.
3) The birth of Ha-chan, Mother Rapapa’s reincarnation, happened after Mirai and Riko became Precure together.
So really, if I’m getting this right, we might have three versions of this legend: the one that is the most commonly known but not exactly correct [Riko’s version]; the one which is told by the oldest fairies/magical beings who lived in the time when Mother Rapapa was still alive and the world was still one [the original]; finally, the one that’s happening before our eyes where the connection and bond forged between Mirai and Riko can bring about miracles, such as the return of Mother Rapapa through Ha-chan [the true version].
The fact that Deusmast’s revival coincides with these events are anything but coincidental. Mother Rapapa knew she was going to have to face it again so it’s not a stretch to say she might have planned for her own rebirth in the present day to prepare for that.
Two girls who can bring the two worlds together will become Precure, wielders of Mother Rapapa’s powers. Said two girls will also raise and look after her future self, Kotoha, before she’s ready to face her true purpose. When the two worlds are in sync again and Kotoha accepts her role as a divine existence, then, combined with the gathered Linkle Stones and the extra support of Precure and every living being on planet earth, the reborn Mother Rapapa can finally be summoned in her full might to confront and defeat Chaos once and for all.
......or at least, that’s how I’m interpreting it as of this moment. I may have gotten few details wrong but see, this is why I need to do a rewatch. To find out how on or far off the mark I am.
I’m really liking this theory, though, cuz it just makes too much sense! compared to the crazy ones I normally make anyways, lol xD;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erhem, alright a break from the wall of text.
Mirai is like “Wow, that’s pretty cool!” because it’s not every day you’ve acquired abilities only found in stories and tales while Riko is like...
Tumblr media
“Wait...wut?” *PROCESSING*
And then...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Proceeds to probably have one of the biggest revelations of her life and goes all creepy smiley about it.
lol, oh, Riko. You’re scaring me, darling. (^ ^ ;;)
Tumblr media
But jokes and laughs aside, you can see the differences between their personalities in these few seconds.
Riko wants to be recognized and respected so badly as a proper witch that she’ll even settle for using a shortcut through the Emerald or simply bearing the title of Precure to get there. Despite the fact that neither of those are synonymous with the credit and skill earned from hard work. In other words, she’d only be a witch in name and nothing more. It’s not truly her magic.
However, from Riko’s standpoint, you have to understand why she’s desperate. She’s got poor marks in the most essential subject for magic users and thinks something’s wrong with her because of that. She can’t handle her embarrassment from that ineptitude and if she’s tried everything already and nothing works, then she’s going to have to resort to more outrageous methods to get out of the dilemma she’s in.
This logic is filled with flaws and it’s terribly worrisome but Riko, if anything, is determined to make something of herself. She may have fallen down more times than she can count but she always made herself stand up.
It’s hard not to cheer for her and want her to succeed.
Tumblr media
Mirai, in comparison, seems more naive and simple-minded.
Riko’s excitement is not something she can comprehend right now because for one thing, she’s never had to shoulder the angst that comes with not being able to fulfill expectations that is, until the epilogue.
But rather than see this as a bland aspect of her character, we should appreciate that Mirai is a very stable, positive and warm person.
When Riko couldn’t deal with the frustration over her own perceived failures, Mirai never judged her for what she could or couldn’t do. She still wholeheartedly accepted Riko, unfailingly believed that Riko can achieve great things and still saw Riko as the most amazing witch she’s ever come across. Yes, even though there were more accomplished magic users she’s met since coming over to the Magic World, the one Mirai continued to admire and wanted to get close to the most was Riko.
It’s true that for a majority of the season, Mirai played more of supporting role to Riko at times and didn’t have any personal wish other than wanting to stay together with her beloved friends. Nevertheless, she’s always immensely cherished by the people around her for who she is. Especially Riko, who really needed someone like Mirai in her life. That Mirai places those she loves above any great ambition and later goes on to chase a dream of rejoining the two worlds so everyone can be happy together, it really proves how purely wonderful she is as a person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s cute. 8D
I’d be lying if I wasn’t reminded of Harry Potter when I saw this because it did.
But this is a magical girl anime where almost everything is cutesy-fied so I’m obliged to scream when I see something I think is cute! xD;
Tumblr media
This time, it’s Riko’s turn to treat Mirai to food!
Awesome! I like to believe they do this all the time. Riko takes care of everything when they visit the Magic World and Mirai provides when they’re in the Mundane World.
A part of their relationship that’s always balanced no matter what.
Ha-chan and Mofurun don’t have to pay, though, cuz they babies and it’s okay for their mommies to spoil them~ <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shivery Mofu-baby~
lol, she even goes to touch it a second time like “Brrr~, this is chilly, but one more cuz it’s gives me the tingles, bRrRrRr~!!”
xDDD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That looks sooooo cool!
I love mandarin oranges and I’ve ate them slightly chilled before. They’re great.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But eating one in this manner? I wanna try, I wanna try!
Tumblr media
FEED DA TINY BEAR
( ☉ω⊙)
Tumblr media
(๑ˊ͈ ॢꇴ ˋ͈)〜♡॰ॱ
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mirai’s so enjoying every moment of this impromptu trip and Riko’s quite satisfied that she can impress someone for once.
But then there’s that dreaded crunching noise and, well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mouth can’t lie while eating, after all, lol.
Tumblr media
Ok, Riko’s faces are the best.
She went from “Are you serious, don’t make me look bad, plz” to “Shoot, these are hard as rocks, oh no, how do I protect my vulnerable image in front of this Muggle?! *sweats*”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the end, she dodged it with tsun, hahaha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So they finally arrive in the Magic World and frankly, it’s a beautiful place. Is every piece of land a floating island?! I want to live there! :D
Also, yes, while StarPre did take extra steps in worldbuilding, there are few things you gotta remember:
1) MahoPre aired before StarPre did, so it should be expected for later seasons to improve on what their predecessors brought to the table. Seeing as MahoPre and StarPre had the same series coordinator, Isao Murayama, I’d say he definitely got better when it came to this topic.
2) MahoPre only had one foreign world in its setting while StarPre had many planets since it dealt with space.
3) MahoPre still did what a lot of other Precure seasons opted not to do: give the main characters free access to explore and learn about other worlds.
Seriously, the “fantasy land seized by darkness/evil and needs to be saved by girls from another dimension” plot is present in almost every installation of this tv franchise that it’s just refreshing to not be restricted by those limits for once.
I could go on but I think I’ve made my point. :P
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riko said the Magic Academy is at the center of the Magic World. So does that mean it’s the highest authority on all matters regarding magic? Because I don’t recall anything about the Magic World having an actual government.
Well, anyways, I suspect that all the students’ wands are registered with the school otherwise that’d be a huge security risk if anyone can just open the gate with a simple spell. (o_o ;;)
Oh, and look, it’s the kitty from Riko’s metro pass! :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same, Mirai.
SAAAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEEEE
Tumblr media
SUUUUURRRREEE, WE’LL SEE ABOUT THAT
8P
Tumblr media
Here’s MahoPre’s version of McGonagall. Strangely enough, we never got a name for her. Same for the Headmaster. They were always addressed as just their faculty names.
Anyways, she’s as stern and strict as you’d expect of any teacher but even so, I don’t find her disapproval towards Riko’s actions to be too unfair or too harsh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, c’mon, if you were in her position and found out that one of your students broke a bunch of rules overnight only for them to come back with an outsider and this explanation, wouldn’t you react the same way she did?
The lady’s just doing her job.
Plus, her anger is justified because not only did Riko break the rules and exposed their kind but she could’ve really gotten hurt out there all by herself as well. Riko didn’t even bring any money with her for food, for crying out loud.
Tumblr media
I’m sorry, Riko, as much as I’d like to give in to those puppy dog eyes (aaaahhhh, don’t look at me like that, you cutie~!), the professor’s right about this one.
Still, all things considered, she doesn’t outright expel Riko. Not because she doesn’t have that authority, I don’t think (that lies with the Headmaster), but it seems to me she might’ve wanted to find an alternative punishment as expulsion might be too cruel.
She even gave Riko fair warning not to leave the room until she found the Headmaster to discuss what to do next and when she saw Riko running around campus later despite that order, she freaked out in concern.
“Do you want to be expelled, Riko-san?!”
So yea, I’'d like to believe the Deputy Headmistress, at least, didn’t want to send Riko packing for home if it could be helped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That done and said, it probably hit Mirai just how much trouble Riko’s in right now. Sure, Riko leaving school at night without permission is her own responsibility to bear and the same goes for bringing Mirai back to the Magic World with her when she shouldn’t have.
But still, Mirai being here is a violation of the Magic World at large. If she were aware of that, maybe she wouldn’t have gone with Riko in the first place (noooo!) so that Riko wouldn’t have to face possible expulsion.
Fortunately, Riko’s a sensible girl and knows Mirai isn’t in the wrong. It was she who wanted to prove herself, after all. She was just too blinded by her hopes to think about the consequences.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so she revealed to Mirai that she’s actually a remedial student.
Like, Riko’s quite upset about the circumstances as it is but she still has it in her to be decent and honest with Mirai on her reasons for going to the Mundane World. It’s the least she could do for getting Mirai involved in magical affairs and taking her all the way here.
The search for the Emerald, suddenly becoming Precure, all these things were to show everyone that she can use magic effectively.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riko’s pretty much reiterating what I said earlier in the post but I don’t think she really understood the full extent of it. At least, not yet.
She still wants the Emerald, of course, because her wish to be a great witch hasn’t changed.
She just realizes that yea, she broke the rules and no Emerald is going to excuse her out of the scolding she’s in for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Mofurun decides to rolypoly on over to poor, depressed Riko and goes “SO WHAT? LOOK AT ME, I’M ADORABLE!!”
lol, j/k, j/k, she really said “I smell something sweet!” which was followed be this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riko and Mirai’s Diamond pendants glowing~
...honestly, they should’ve just let Mofurun do the explaining to the Deputy Head cuz it seems that every time Mofurun is within range of a Linkle Stone and announces its presence (“A sweet smell!”), they automatically start shining and voila~, the legend is real!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, but really, Mofurun seems to be telling the girls to not sweat the small stuff.
Why? Cuz...
DESTINY!!!
......lol, yea, Mofurun knows Mirai and Riko are in for something greater than this little snag in the road and just wants to let them know to cheer them up.
And hey, she’s right. :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It got Mirai motivated, at least, to go and explain things to the Headmaster herself. Maybe if a Muggle can prove she performed magic as Precure, they’d let Miko off the hook because then they’d realize she was telling the truth.
Tumblr media
Again, Riko is surprised by the lengths Mirai’s willing to go for her. They can’t really be called strangers anymore after all that’s happened but they haven’t known each other long enough (it hasn’t even been 24 hrs yet!) that they can call each other friends yet either.
So why Mirai’s doing this, when there aren’t a lot benefits for her, simply baffles Riko.
*whispers* That’s what a best friend is, Riko-chan~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Mirai, of course, doesn’t know her way around the school, much less who the Headmaster is or what he looks like, but that’s okay because she’s sooooo cute! x3
And maybe it’s a good thing this happened during spring break? Otherwise, she’d be catching the attention of the other students and faculty and she’d have a hard time getting to where she needed to go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like this when a breeze just drifted through the air and she suddenly got a feeling that she’s gotta go THAT way.
Humuhumu...yea, I don’t think it’s just the Precure powers that’s at work here. Mirai does have innate magical abilities of her own.
I’ve got a theory on that based on some MahoPre trivia I read, about the scratched concept of her having magical ancestors, but I’ll save that for another time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right, where were we? Oh, yes, the wind led her to a tree.
It looks like any ordinary tree but by judging by the way Mirai gazes up at it, something tells her it’s really more than that.
See? That’s her intuition. The magical side of it, anyways.
Tumblr media
And whaddaya know, the wind led her to the person she wanted to find, too!
‘Course she doesn’t think he’s the Headmaster at first glance and who can blame her when he’s wearing a face that young.
Tumblr media
But she’s not even thinking about the Headmaster at that point because did he just say wands? He said wands, right?
Yep, she’s got her priorities sorted out, haha~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in the classroom, Riko’s lost in her thoughts and can’t really forget how Mirai’s been nothing but friendly to her since the moment they met.
So even though Riko finds this devotion weird, she still can’t help but worry about her and decides it’s not good to just let Mirai wander off by herself when she doesn’t even know her way around.
Kyuuu~, I love it when Riko shows her soft side, especially when it’s about Mirai. She’s always like “まったく ...” in an exasperated way but gives in because she knows she can’t win against Mirai’s niceness and that just brings out her own niceness, d’aww~ <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now back to Mirai where she’s getting quite a fascinating lesson about wands. How every time someone is born in the Magic World, a Wand Tree immediately grows one out to give to that baby, how that’s the wand they use for life, etc.
That’s such a cool birth certificate! Can I trade mine in for a wand of my own?!
xD;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’d hold that thought, Gramps.
A Muggle isn’t just drawn to a specific Wand Tree for no reason.
Maybe the reason why it hasn’t generated any new wand for ages is because it was waiting for someone like Mirai, a resident of the other world, to show up.
Tumblr media
But as expected of the Headmaster, he could immediately tell Mirai’s not from their world and asks what she’s doing here.
Tumblr media
Mirai tells him she needs to find the Headmaster and the way she holds Mofurun tighter to her (KYAAAAA~!!!) when the subject turns over to Riko says a lot about how she can’t let Riko’s life get ruined just because she broke a few rules.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not when Riko saved what was most important to her. To the world, it might have been nothing but a small gesture of kindness but that same gesture is what meant the world to Mirai.
That’s why she has to return the favor to Riko. Riko helped her and now it’s her turn and that means...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAUSE.
Please take a moment to squee at rolypoly Mofurun part 2 first.
........
We good? Okay, back to regular programming...
Tumblr media
DEUS EX MACH-I’M KIDDING~
These are Wand Trees so I’m sure they’re sentient and can sense the sincerity in Mirai’s words along with her magic potential.
For that...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She gets her very own wand!
*gasp* And oh my, what a pretty wand it is! It suits my baby very well!
I am very pleased! 8D
Tumblr media
Not only is Mirai sincere, she’s well-mannered as well.
And Mofurun, too. What good children they are. :D
Tumblr media
The magic tree just granted her something meant to conjure magic with.
What do you think she’s going to do with it if not that? Use it as a back scratcher?!
That aside, I forgot about this. So it was the supernatural forces that dictated Mirai should be allowed into the magic realm and not because of the Headmaster’s decision.
I like that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Batty shows up and starts destroying everything in search for them and Mirai immediately leaves to go find Riko.
I’m not sure if it’s because she knows she needs to be with Riko in order to transform into Precure or if she’s simply worried about Riko or both or what. But Mirai doesn’t even think twice about the dangers of facing Batty alone when a person she cares about is somewhere in the crossfire.
Tumblr media
And it’s so clear that Mirai cares about the world Riko comes from. Not just because it’s Riko’s school and home but also because she has great respect for magic users in general.
She’s dreamed of meeting them for a long time and though they’re hesitant to welcome her because she’s a normal human (aka not like them), that doesn’t stop her from doing what’s right. When Batty tries to order her around, she defiantly (and G-ratedly) flips him off for all the havoc he’s making.
Yep, she’s not afraid of the bad guys, my brave little girl~ <3
Tumblr media
Riko’s timing and aim are impeccable as always, lol
She’s almost like a human missile! xD;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s right you did, Riko! And you did a splendid job, bravo! *clapclapclap*
Mirai’s just relieved that Riko’s unharmed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, if Riko’s still giving tsundere service, then she’s definitely alright, ahahaha~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See?
Riko can’t win against Mirai when she smiles at her like that~
Blushy Riko is so...too...adorable for words! x3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then they hold hands and yea, you know what happens afterwards.
Tumblr media
Frankly, the fight in this ep wasn’t any better or different than the first one and only a few short moments are worth mentioning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Miracle trying her best to not let any more damage come to the school and crashing to the ground because of it.
Even though things will go back to normal, with no signs of a battle ever happening there, after they get rid of the Yokubaru and all (but then again, they didn’t know that...did they??)
She’s too nice, jeez...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Magical checking if her partner is okay and Miracle brushing it off like “Whoopsie!”
Tumblr media
And Magical getting irritated again but whup, no time for that, gotta protect Miracle!
Haha~!! xDD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways, the biggest moment that needs to be discussed is this one when Magical’s almost doubting whether saving the school’s worth it since she’s in for expulsion anyway because she disobeyed the Deputy Headmistress.
Hmmm, I’m not criticizing her or calling her self-centered or anything. It’s just that it’s obvious Riko has weighed herself down with too many negative thoughts that it’s hard for her to see there’s still something she can do.
She’s Precure now so regardless of whether she gets expelled or not, she’s one of the only people there who can stand up to that monster.
Tumblr media
And like Miracle said, nothing has been decided yet. They can still persuade the Headmaster to let Riko stay at school.
If they don’t at least try, then it’s guaranteed they’ll only get nothing out of it.
And that’s hardly the ending anyone wants, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whatever the outcome may be, Mirai’s determined to do her best for Riko. If it’s too much for Riko to bear alone, Mirai will be there to support her.
Riko calls Mirai a busybody for this but you can tell by her expression that she’s really grateful Mirai talked her out of giving up.
Tumblr media
Even Mofurun’s happy, perched up on high~
<D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then they get their Linkle Sticks and perform Diamond Eternal for the first time and blow the monster away, yay, all’s well that ends well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, almost.
Thankfully, the Headmaster witnessed everything that transpired, sparing them from any need to explain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And not only does Riko get to stay at school (whoohoo~!) but now Mirai will be attending classes with her as well!
I guess there are endings where all’s well that ends better, after all, huh? Hehehe~
And that’s all for this week. Will try to get ep 3 by next Sunday. Bye for now~

Part 1
How To Be A Queen
I woke up this morning with a stumble in my step and a desperation to eat more than any lady should. Today, I reminded myself, I am not a lady. Or royalty, or anything of the sort. I was Zelda. Just like yesterday, and just like tomorrow. Zelda.
I fumbled around the pockets of the trousers I wore for the last week and after blindly patting around I procured a thin leather strap. I was not in the mood to even attempt to style the rat's nest that sat on my scalp, instead settling with combing the more obvious bits of hair and tying up the rest in a rather messy bun. I peered into the dresser mirror. My eyes weren't even all the way open. The nest on my head was smoother, but easily resembled a pile of hay. Oh, well.
A glitter on my finger caught my attention. On my middle finger was a gold band. It was simple, as it was supposed to be. I was gifted it on my 13th birthday. It was supposed to symbolize my sincerity and purity. On the night of my wedding there is a ring ceremony of switching it to my ring finger. Which, in all honesty, was pointless. It just screams out to everyone that I got laid. I pursed my lips. I had forgotten to leave it when I left. There was no point in having it now.
There was a quiet tap at the door. It shuttered as it slid open.
"Oh, good. You're awake. One of the girls prepared breakfast. I've also brought a change of traveler's clothes."
Impa closed the door behind her, giving one disapproving look at my hair. "You look like you've never been near a marbled floor in your life."
"Oh good, that was the look I was going for actually."
She shook her head and pulled a chair up, "I do suppose you've never had the chance to get ready by yourself before. Sit child."
I followed suit and sat. Impa pulled the leather strap from my hair with ease and my hair sprang into frizzy mess once more. "Now follow me in the mirror, Zelda," she began taking my hair into her hands and narrated a process of how to properly style one's hair without an extra pair of hands. After a few minutes of struggling and strained fingers I managed to do a proper bun that satisfied the Sheikah woman.
"Just because you've been traveling with a man doesn't mean you need to get ready like one," she muttered, handing me a set of clothes she had brought in. "Nor should you wear their clothes."
I laughed at her sincerity and thanked her. She rambled a little bit about the village and how cold the winter would be as I undressed myself.
"They're saying it will be one of the coldest winters in years, Zelda. I think if you are going to Hateno like Link had told me you should leave today before nightfall if you want to beat the snowfall."
As my head popped through the thin first cotton layer I looked at her in disbelief, "Today? But I'd like to spend more time here. With you."
She shook her head with a smile, "I'm afraid the goddesses haven't deemed it so. These are the perfect conditions for a blizzard. And whenever we have a large snowfall, the mountain passes get blocked for days. Unfortunately, I wouldn't want to risk Link and yourself being stuck here when a whole world awaits you."
I scowled, "Rubbish."
Despite my sour mood, the clothes fit like a glove. There were two long white layers with a pattered black and green bodice that laced in the front. I held the laces in my hand and looked up at my host with a light blush, "I'm sorry, could you help me? I've never tied a bodice before."
Breakfast was divine. I ate canned peaches and strawberries with porridge, and though it wasn't my usual favorite from Castletown it was a welcomed treat. A tea pot was set down by a girl who Impa had said was a priestess in training. I smiled and thanked her. It steamed through the spout and I looked just beyond it at a blond headed man already asking for a third helping. The girl giggled at his aloof grin and took the bowl away from him with a red face.
"Have you no shame, Captain?" Impa addressed him.
"I'm afraid not, ma'am," he answered easily.
Impa let out a "Hmph!" and turned to me, "I attempted to teach him basic etiquettes before you were his charge."
"You were?" I looked over at Link, who in turn held a grin.
"An emphasis on attempted."
No wonder they were so comfortable together. Impa nodded, "Your father had asked me to vet him before his promotion. As you can see his mannerisms weren't what won me over."
"It's okay, Lady Impa, you don't have to tell her it was my charm."
Impa failed to hide a smile, "It certainly was not."
I laughed. "I don't think it was all for naught, I don't think he spoke more than a sentence to me the first two years."
"Is that right?" Impa asked, "Probably a good thing, if you ask me. Once you start getting him to talk about himself he doesn't shut up."
"That's not true!" He said. Much to my amusement, I watched Link and Impa bicker from my seat. I could only listen with a smile. For some reason, I enjoyed this. It differed greatly to the silent meals in the great hall, but it was welcomed. I giggled at one of Impa's retorts. The uneasiness between Link and I had apparently been dissolved. The possibility of it resurfacing once we leave today made me nervous, but I pushed it aside finding them looking at me. Link had just finished his question. Embarrassed, my cheeks warmed, "I beg your pardon?"
"See!" Impa interjected, "Impeccable manners. You could actually learn by example."
Link half acknowledged her with a smile and looked back at me with concern creeping into his voice, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine!" I said while I messed with what remained in my bowl as a measly attempt to distract myself from the way he looked at me.
"I'm sorry you have to leave so soon, Zelda," Impa said gently. I shook my head, "It's not your fault. I'm not upset."
I shrugged, glancing at Link, "We can always come back, right?"
"Don't look at me, Princess," he said, laughing a bit at my question, "I'm just along for the ride."
"And my door is always open for you, Zelda."
I felt suddenly bashful, "Thank you."
The outdoor air was a shock to my system. I had been spoiled the last day with a warm bed. I tried to engulf myself with the coat I was given. It was grey and lined with fur on the inside. Someone lifted the hood and let it drop over my head, dipping in front of my face. I saw Link kneel in front of me with a broad grin, "You ready?" A boyish excitement peeked through, making me smile without my meaning to.
I watched him wait for my response. "Oh!" I scrambled, "Where is Impa?"
"Behind you," she responded. I spun around and gave her a tight hug.
"You're coming back," she said as a statement, not as a suggestion. I nodded eagerly. "Good," she hugged me back, her voice dipping into a more professional tone, "We need to talk about how you will address your court."
"I know," I said pulling away. She was right. I was thankful to have someone like Impa there to help. It made me feel less alone. With a bout of waving, we parted. I rushed to catch up with Link's long strides. It had snowed overnight and the inches of snow crunched under our feet. I wished I could say goodbye to Rivka and her mother, but it seemed it wasn't meant to be. Perhaps next time we were in the area.
"Where to next?" Link said as we entered the mountain pass.
I looked at him weird, "Hateno. Where else were you thinking?"
"I dunno," he shrugged, "It'll be underwhelming compared to everything."
"Doubtful." A gust of wind came through the pass and I gasped as the hood flew off, letting the cold hit my face and neck. "Keep your hood up, it would suck if you get sick," he said, adjusting his own. Tufts of blond hair overflowed from his dark coat.
I held onto my hood as another gust blew past us, it was almost violent. I wonder what would've happened if we stayed longer than we should have. Despite the chill, I was entranced by how much heavy snow changed the scenery. Plants and grass that were poking from the ground when we arrived was now deeply entrenched in snow. The trees that loomed over us were skeletons. It was quiet other than the crunch of snow under our feet. The depth had gotten so deep that I opted to tail behind Link and follow his footsteps. Every now and again he would look back to check if I was still there. And each time I would smile because I didn't know what else to do when I looked at him.
It took us longer to get through the trail than we expected. If I had to guess maybe two hours compared to the hour long ascension. We took a path that led us farther south. The mountains opened and not long after were in the distance behind us.
"I didn't get Aryll anything."
"Hm?" I was pulled out of my thoughts and saw Link debating something in his head. The snow wasn't as heavy here so I hurried to walk alongside my guide.
"I didn't get a souvenir for my sister. She'll be mad."
"Well, what do you usually get her?"
Link paused, "Girl stuff. From Castletown. I've bought a gown for her before - of course it didn't fit. A necklace for her birthday. I think one time I bought her a diary. She never used it."
"Oh," I pondered, "What does she like?"
"Girl things."
I blinked, my eyebrows drawing together, "Like what?"
He shrugged, "Hair and jewelry or something. She doesn't really express much interest in anything other than astronomy, but she already has a telescope."
"She likes jewelry?"
"Yeah, but we never really could afford anything growing up. I think Aryll was forced to grow out of that interest."
I pulled at a band around my middle finger, "Here, give her this."
I held out my palm. It was my gold ring. "Zelda," Link sounded surprised, "I can't just take this."
"Why not? It's nothing special. I only wear it on formal occasions."
"You know why," he shook his head, "It'd be wrong for me to give away my charge's purity ring."
My cheeks reddened, "Don't say it like that. It's not- We aren't-"
I was lost for words as unnecessary imagery rushed through my head.
He raised his eyebrows at me in a knowing expression, "See?" I mumbled my frustration away and glanced at our bag on his back.
"What?" He said, noticing the smile playing on my lips.
"During the era of the Middle Kingdoms, wives would give their husbands the rings after," I wiggled my eyebrows, "you know."
Link's face went blank and he looked at me strangely. I expected a response attune to "Go on…", but he didn't say anything.
"Sooo," I prolonged the 'o', "We just have to find someone to marry me and then he can give you the ring."
"Yeah, no," he rolled his eyes as I began laughing.
"Why not? I think it's a fool-proof plan! It'll totally get the heat off your back."
"Sure, let's go back and get ahold of that one guy from the ball," he said, taking long strides. I picked up my pace, unbelievably amused by my own banter. My face scrunched up. "I wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole."
"I wouldn't let you come within one-hundred feet of him!" Link exclaimed, "Hylia willing."
I beamed, forgetting completely about the cold. My face dropped as I remembered something. "Link! Stop I need to get something."
Link did and I took the moment to reach into it, rummaging around. It was forcefully pulled low by my weight.
"Ow, quit it," he said, kneeling slightly. "I'm not a pack mule, Highness."
I flicked him in the head, "I told you to stop calling me that, Pack Mule."
"Um, it's Sir Pack Mule to you. I was knighted by you-"
"Aha!" I yelled out, producing an ivory comb from the bag. "Give her this."
I made sure to bring a comb when we left Impa's house, and they were like the ones from the castle. It was made from ivory and fine-toothed, on the handle was a delicately carved flower. If Aryll wanted to, I suppose it could be used as decoration .
"Where did you get that?"
"Impa's house. Don't worry, I asked to steal it."
Link took it out of my hand gingerly. "I think Aryll will love it."
"Really?" I grinned. He nodded, lingering a bit. "Come on, we'll get off track."
I complied. We walked further and eventually we reached a bridge. The lake was frozen over to the point where I thought it was a field of white, it wasn't until I heard water was when I questioned Link about it.
"Lake Siela is known for freezing only the over the top," he had told me, "A lot of travelers have fallen through and died because of it. People think the water is just warm enough from the hot springs runoff that only the surface is affected. Others think the lake is cursed."
"What do you think?"
"I think we should walk over the bridge instead."
As we were reaching it, we noticed a woman standing around.
Was she… singing to her horse?
"Link," I whispered aggressively, "That's the same woman from the campfire."
"From Kakariko?"
"No, the stable."
He grew quiet. I looked up and he had a set expression on his face. Somehow, I could tell that he was debating if we should turn back. I wasn't so alarmed by her presence, but Link's reaction when he saw her that night unnerved me. I had thought it was because it was the first person I spoke to since leaving the castle, but he didn't act the same at the village. Something was wrong.
"I'm sure she's fine, though," I said more to assure myself.
"Your ring."
"What about it?" I thumbed the side of the band. I felt him move closer and my heart jumped when we brushed sides. Hot fingers interlaced with my own and my cheeks flushed. My brain stopped working. All I knew was that Link was warm and he smelled good. With that thought being processed properly, I realized how strange it would be to say that aloud. "Switch it to your ring finger," he finally whispered. It sounded like he knelt to my ear to say that. His voice was low, but my stomach seemed to drop lower.
"O-Oh."
Suddenly I was aware of how I was walking, how my hair looked, how my frigid hands were starting to sweat, how I was breathing, amongst other things. Despite it all, I unfortunately took my hand away from Link and switched the ring before unceremoniously slipping it back into place. My breath was uneven as he tightened his hold.
Thirty yards turned into fifteen and then into five.
"Hello there!" Link bellowed, he sounded completely different from before. I tried searching for a word to describe it and quickly settled on jovial. In some respect, with the same assertiveness as Uncle.
She turned towards us as if she was expecting company. "Well! What a coincidence to see this happy couple again!" Her eyes were the same piercing color. I hadn't noticed her tan skin that night, but it's deep complexion contrasted perfectly to the winter wonderland around her. Her cheekbones being more extenuated. It occurred to me that she may not be Hylian as I had assumed earlier. However, she wasn't tall like a Gerudo. My thoughts were put to rest as her eyes scanned me. I smiled politely despite feeling violated by her gaze. I involuntarily squeezed Link's hand, feeling reprieve when I felt him return the pressure.
"I thought you two were engaged!" She gasped audibly. My heart jumped.
"You caught us!" Link laughed, it sounded foreign to my ears, "We got eloped in Kakariko."
"How romantic!" She smiled widely. I smiled back, hugging his arm.
If you're going to play the part… at least make it convincing, right?
"We'd love to stay and chat, but I'm afraid we'll miss our honeymoon. Happy Midwinter!" He said bowing his head and pushed against me to start walking. Admittingly I almost tripped on my own feet but was saved by lumber support.
"And what is this lovely budding family called?" She called behind us.
"We're the Foresters," he said, glancing over his shoulder.

"She sounds like she's dying " You think as panic starts to set in and you have no idea of what's going on Getting to the bedroom door is a struggle in itself since people are coming out of everywhere to see what the hell is going on The door keeps swinging open from the rust on the hinges and because of that someone ends up getting their leg broken in the melee as people were trying to get away from what ever was in there "Its Bad!" "Did she convert?!" "Let me through! I'm a doctor!" All this you hear as you finally get the door shut to keep more people out and then to add to the chaos one of your manticores tries to get through as well, the only thing that stops it from bursting throught the door is that the hallway is narrow so all it can do is stand there roaring at the door Fantastic Of course this is not the most worrying thing, what is worrying you is hearing Naji in there screaming in pain like someone (Who was obviously trying to kill her) was assaulting her with a red hot poker banging on the door shouting at her to stop screaming because you thought she was hurt and needed immediate help As it turned out however that's not what was happening at all! Naji it seems had just finally managed to master her powers like she said she was going to do and as it would happen, she decided to try them out by 'converting' you And, as for all spikes, they cause immense pain when thrust into a non-believer and head-banging wasn't the same as this and she wasn't Crucifer so you didn't think she'd be trying powers like this When she made the door burst open and you saw her, you nearly screamed because your mind thought she had been gutted like a fishery and her entrails were falling out all over for bizarre people is a blog, featuring artists, musicians, designers and other creative weirdos eating in the bistro!
