i overthink math and underthink english.
one just wants the factual answer, the other needs a paraphrased recitation of every rule and observation that led you to this conclusion
annnnnnd i mix them up all the time.
#dont even get me started on the weird online matching games they make me play#it's hard to accept you're a C student when you were isolated in the woods and an A student with zero peers in your graduating class#Cs get degrees right? and i mean when i was an A student i did not get a degree. so...#i'm really overreacting to a minor grade. i'm getting mostly Bs in my major projects so like i'm doing fine. but i'm struggling#i am having a hard time not reacting emotionally to english grades because i spent A LOT OF TIME ON ENGLISH the first time around.#SO MUCH TIME. and it's annoying. and thank god this will be the last english class for at least two years.#gotta keep my eye on the prize. a degree that i can leverage for a nice artsy gig#this english professor will hold very little sway over my graduation or lackthereof#and my worth isn't tied to... this class that's a nice refresher at best and a bureaucratic farce at worst.#i wonder if someone had sat me down and said 'it's just a class. your intelligence is not measured based on this single class.'#maybe that'd have stuck and back in high school i'd have. idk.
