It's the start of Xianyun's banner, so I here's a fic I did about her and Andromeda! The title of this comes from Lovesick by Laufey! This is pretty much just a cute little fluffy morning fic

After the game spat in my face and made me lose the 50/50 after 80 pulls, I'm basically having to start from 0 again to try to get her befor the banner ends. I'll be considering all likes, reblogs, etc I get on this a manifestation that ae will come home to me lol

Andromeda wakes up feeling more rested than she usually does. She’s never been a good sleeper— even when she was a child she’d often wake up in the middle of the night. But for the first time that she can remember, she realizes as she stirs awake that she doesn’t think she had any late night interruptions to her sleep. She slept soundly, and she thinks that she owes her unusually good rest to her girlfriend. 

Everything with Xianyun is still new. They’re both navigating what their relationship means, but it’s exciting to figure out who they are to each other. There’s an awkwardness that comes with it, but it’s also comforting in a way. Xianyun is amazing— every second that Andromeda spends with aer is precious to her, but letting someone into her life has been strange for her. She’s not used to getting close to people, not used to being able to actually count on other people to listen to her and care about her. This is all uncharted territory.

A month into this relationship, that doesn’t scare Andromeda as much as it used to. Xianyun stays at Andromeda’s apartment in Liyue sometimes now, cuddled up against her in bed. She’s all sharp angles and long limbs, but there’s something comforting about her presence too. Andromeda thinks that ae’s what’s helped her sleep better lately, though aer helping her sleep only makes aer absence in the morning more noticeable. 

Andromeda blindly feels around the bed, not yet opening her eyes. When she doesn’t feel anything but pillows and blankets, she half whispers out, “Pretty bird?”

“One can be found on the balcony.” Xianyun’s voice is distant, being carried in through the door by the right side of the bed. 

Andromeda has always liked the way Xianyun speaks. Sometimes it reminds her of poetry. There’s a soothing flow to her words that’s pleasant to listen to, and Andromeda’s gotten distracted listening to her talk more than a few times as she’s gotten stuck in just the sound of it. 

She climbs out of bed, taking her glasses from the nightstand. One of the good things about having an apartment in Liyue is the balcony built off from the bedroom. It gives a lovely view of the sprawling city, the ocean just barely visible in the distance but still with the smell of sea salt drifting to the balcony in the breeze. 

But Andromeda’s attention is drawn away from the warm orange and yellow colors of the sunrise towards Xianyun. Ae’s wearing aer glasses, but aer hair is still down, following down in its feathery layers past aer back. She's pretty in her nightgown, the silky black material going down to her knees and draped off of her slim shoulders. 

Andromeda joins Xianyun on the balcony, coming to a stop next to aer. She leans against the railing of it, resting her arms on the cool wood. 

“You’re up early,” she states. 

“One wanted to enjoy the view,” Xianyun says. “The morning sky in Liyue is unique among Teyvat's wonders.” 

“Hmm. Yeah, it’s always pretty like this, isn’t it?” 

“Very,” ae says. She shifts closer to Andromeda, wrapping an arm around her waist. “You are a very nice view in the morning too.”

Andromeda can’t help but smile at that. It’s a little bit of an overused line, but there’s a genuineness behind it that makes her heart beat a little faster. It’s hard to believe that this is real, and that Xianyun can truly love her, but it gets a little easier in the softer moments like this. 

Andromeda presses a quick kiss to aer cheek. 

“Thank you,” she says. 

“You don’t need to thank one for simply stating the truth,” Xianyun says. She leans her head against Andromeda’s, having to lower herself a little to do so. “But one does like hearing you say kind things.”

Andromeda smiles. “Hmm. How about I say that you’re gorgeous then? And easily the smartest person that I’ve ever met. You have such a sharp mind, it’s really incredible to see you at work.”

It’s odd. Andromeda has never been good at giving or receiving compliments. It’s always felt to her that words aren’t enough, that they can’t really show what someone’s feeling. It’s easy to twist words into something else, changing their meaning or saying things that aren’t really meant. And when it comes to her complimenting someone, she never feels like she can find the right words for it, never find the words that conveys what she actually thinks. She fumbles and says what feels close enough, even if it only scratches the surface. 

But when she compliments Xianyun, the words flow out easily. Everything that she says feels right, even if it will never truly be enough to show her just how much she cares. It’s nice not having to agonize over every word, and it’s nice not to feel like she has to script out everything that she’ll say as she speaks. 

“You’re far too kind,” Xianyun says. 

“I could say the same to you.” Andromeda knows that it’s not every day that an adeptus has a relationship with a human. There are risks that come with being together, but the fact that Xianyun is willing to take them with her is flattering in and of itself. 

Xianyun guides Andromeda’s face up towards her with a clawed finger lifting her chin. Aer lips are soft as ae kisses her. She’s more confident at kissing now than she was just a month ago when they had their first kiss— Andromeda still can’t believe that she was Xianyun’s first kiss ever. 

When their lips part, Andromeda still feels lighter on her feet. It’s almost like kissing Xianyun was a relief. She always thought that people were being cheesy and over dramatic when they said that love can change everything, but right now she thinks she can see why they say that. 

“Thank you for letting me be part of your life,” Andromeda says. 

“One is lucky to spend one’s time with you,” Xianyun replies. Ae nuzzles aer nose against the top of Andromeda’s head. “Now, may one treat one’s radiant girlfriend to breakfast?”

She smiles. “Yeah. Yeah, you can.”

I’m so sorry if I’m like bothering you😭 But like I just have so many questions-

So what if in the same scenario where (Reader) is like really strong and kills monsters like the ask from before

And once they find out that some of the Archons/other people are really old they’ll make soo many jokes about it-

Like if Zhongli was like “Please (Reader), I don’t mind if you see me as a father-figure, I won’t be mad if you call me Dad,”

And (Reader) who’s like 12-14 years old is like “You’re too old to be my Dad, you’re more like a grandpa.” And then they just walk away, and Zhongli just lays on the floor, heartbroken

And if (Reader) beefs with Wanderer, and he’s being mean they’ll be like “Shut up old man!” Or like “Your still this immature at your grown age?”

And for Nahida, they would just hold her in their arms, she would be the only few people that (Reader) doesn’t actively make fun of, and they’ll show genuine interest on how she’s so old but looks so young, and they would like sit with her and talk about their world

But suddenly everything takes a turn when (Reader) is sitting with a character (One who’s thousands of years old) and (Reader) just turns to them and’s like “Y’know, I realized if I stay in this world, that means you and a lot of the others are still gonna be here when I die” and then they’ll just calmly turn back to look up back at the starry night-

You pick which ones would be bawling their eyes out or how each character would react-

And then reader would go up to characters who aren’t thousands of years old and would assume they are and they would be like “You look old” or like “I feel like your actually an old person”

Like they would say this to Itto, Cyno, Diluc or any other characters of your choosing (Hopefully those three aren’t thousands of years old from what I know💀)

Zhongli

“Please (Reader), I don’t mind if you see me as a father-figure, I won’t be mad if you call me Dad,”

Your response/ jab at his age makes him pause

At this point no one in Teyvat besides Traveler and Paimon know that Zhongli is Rex Lapis

Is not surprised the great Creator knows things, but he wasn't expecting you to know that

Uses the jokes to mess with you in small ways

Whenever you ask to do any monster killing he'll pull the deaf old man bit, just to annoy you

Will also make you do harder chores by pulling the old man = bad back

It's funny... to him, he also uses this as a teaching moment

Venti

Laughs it off

Another that uses your jokes to mess with you

When you ask him to do something, he'll hold his hand to his ear and say "I'm sorry little windblume, I didn't hear you. My hearing must be going at this age,"

But jokes on him, you use his perceived old age to try and limit his wine drinking

That fails, but you tried kid

Whenever you run around Mondstadt or do monster killing, he sighs and talks about when he was young

You both annoy each other and it is glorious

Ei

She is shocked

She knew you liked to joke, but she didn't think she was that old

Because you're talking to the Riaden Shogun puppet most of the time, you don't get a reaction

Your jokes don't get turned on you

It's kind of boring

Nahida

Only one who doesn't get age jokes

You are genuinely curious about how she looks young but is really hundreds of years old

You both talk about the advantages and disadvantages of being physically young but mentally older

Still unnerved by your monster killing and has her friend Wanderer watch over you

Furina

Huffs of annoyance

she then scolds you herself before snitching on you to Neuvillette

In the ends she'll forgive you, once you bribe her with sweets

“Shut up old man!”

His face turns shades of red no one knew were possible

Will respond by calling you brat and saying how cute you are in a teasing tone

Will be petty

“Your still this immature at your grown age?”

Turns even redder

You both beef with each other and it makes other worried

Still smug about your monster killing, if bribed he'll help you

Your beef is both worrying and entertaining

He doesn't really understand the ages jokes

Thinks that you're just being mean

He'll snitch to grandpa Zhongli

Once it's explained to him by Zhongli

He just is confused

Why are you joking that he's old?

Just a really clueless when it comes to these jokes

Tears

He thinks it's because his hair is white

Now, he'll try his best to be the cool young uncle to you

He also doesn't want to think about how old he is

Will try and go monster killing with you

When he sees your strength... proud

Will carry you around and be like "Look at my awesome friend!"

So yeah, like a grandma showing off pictures of her grandkids

Is surprised

It's probably his grumpy face and his voice

Whenever you make ages jokes he tries to scold you about it

Whenever you run into the desert to do monster killing he'll chase after you to stop you

Try and pull this in the rainforest and he'll have Tighnari case you do to stop you

He thinks you make jokes about his age because of his hair color

Proud of your strength but still worrys about you

Diluc

This is the face he has on the inside

His voice and resting bitch face is probably what makes you think he's old, at least he thinks so

Think Kaeya is the one who is telling you he's old

He canonically 22 so this hits him hard

Tries to keep you in the manor at night

When he sees you sneaking out to kill monsters.... dad mode ™️

The more he scolds, and tries to act like a dad the more you call him old

You'll be the reason he ends up with grey hair, eyes bag, and wrinkles

Neuvillette

Grandpa number 2

He already deals with Furina, so he's prepared

Whenever you poke fun at his age, he'll scold you for it

He'll never say it in public but you and Furina are his grandbabies

Your monster killing worries him, like a lot

So much that he has the melusine spy on you and report back

You often get scolded for reckless behavior

He is the more strict of your grandfather figures

Glares and scolds you whenever you call him old

He thinks your jokes are very disrespectful

Would be upset if they started rubbing off on Furina

Xianyun

Considering she tells Paimon to "respect your elders" when Paimon made her mad

She doesn't really care

To her, age = experience

She will act unaffordable by you monster killing, but it scares her

When you joke about her being a grandma, she plays into it

It's not to annoy you either, she just thinks she's your grandma

Will do standard grandma things

Whenever you try and get her to stop, she just responds with "nonsense!"

Now time for existential dread

“Y’know, I realized if I stay in this world, that means you and a lot of the others are still gonna be here when I die”

Crying on the outside and the inside

the contrast between the way people see Xianyun (witty, chatty, warm-hearted, and easy to get along with) and the way she sees herself (inarticulate, reserved, and unyieldingly proud) screams mother to me... as in literally. i'm guessing she feels that way because despite all the entertaining stories she is capable of telling, all the engaging conversations she is capable of holding— she rarely ever...? talks about herself? she can easily tell you stories of her disciples' childhoods, stories of her old friends— but she can probably never tell us stories about herself alone. something about it might feel too raw for her, too difficult. she might even feel that it's pointless; after all, she can still help people even if she never opens up. she can still be a good master to her disciples even if she does not share with them her own emotions. she can still perform all these motherly duties even if she keeps to herself.

in the corner of her heart that she rarely entertains herself, she realizes how lonely this is. she realizes how this sets her apart from others. but simply being aware of this flaw is infinitely easier than being able to fix it. so for now, she just lives with the awareness and continues on with fulfilling her motherly duties. after all, her duties take precedence over everything else. her personal troubles can wait. :')

They thought gods couldn't get sick. You had come down with an illness. At first they thought you would pass it and get back to normal, but you seemed to get worse. All the best healers from every nation tried to help you, but it didn't work. You sepnt the last week, in pain and coughing. It hurt them, and they were hurt even more when you started to cough up blood. No one wanted you to die, yet they couldn't do anything to make you feel better. Eventually, you had succumb to your illness.

Venti

His tears are hidden

On the outside, he's the same old Venti but on the inside he is crying

A constant visitor to the shrine in Mondstadt, always with a bouquet of Calla Lillies and Snapdragons

Keeps a piece of your jewelry with him

His drinking becomes a lot worseIt's not fun for him anymore, it's a way to make the pain of your death go away

He's lost so many friends, and now he's lost you, his creator

Writes songs dedicated to you, to handle his emotions in a better way than drinking

Whenever he over drinks, he hears your voice scold him

Looks for anyone or anything that could be your second reincarnation

Your festival is celebrated with more energy, only to help the people deal with the lose of you

Your shrines become more decorated in order to make your soul feel at home

Candles are lit in order to guide you home to Mondstadt

on windy days he swears your voce can be heard on the wind

Zhongli

Silence

He avoids you grave

Not because he doesn't care, but he just can't handle it

He lost his wife, and many of his other friends during the archon war

Your young age made him think you would have a little more time

But he feels upset for being wrong

Is one of the main people in charge of the preparations for your funeral

Once your funeral ends, he visits the Liyue shrine with flowers and your favorite food

He cries, you were his grandchild and now you're gone

He shuts himself away in order to process his emotions

Once his emotions are handled, he tries to help others mourn in a healthy way

Walks through Liyue Harbor to reminisce on the memories he shared with you

He swears he can hear your voice whenever he walks past your favorite places

The day you died, people relase lanterns to guide your soul to Celestia

Ei

She cries

She lost her friends and sister, now you

Beats herself up over not making a puppet for your soul like she did for herself

If she wasn't leaving the Plane of Euthymia then, she wasn't leaving now

Stills creates a doll version of you, to have some part of you with her

Leaves sakura blossoms in the local shrine

She starts to reconsider her stop in the pursuit of eternity

She now tries to have a better connection with those close to her

Your death taught her something

Walks around Inazuma to your favorite spots

Sometimes, she swears your voice is heard by the puppet and herself in the Plane of Euthymia

Dolls of you become popular

She holds the doll of you close to her heart

Fireworks are lit to light your souls way home

She can still hear you aspirations and dreams and she wants to make them come true

Nahida

Remember how she cried when erasing everyones memories of Rukkhadevata?

Yeah, she's crying

You were a dear friend to her

She would visit you in your dreams to make you feel better

Plans a funeral in Sumeru for you

Vists your shrine every chance she gets

Talks to your resting place like you're still alive

She holds her other friends closer now

Pushes for more studying of medicine, so no one else suffers like she is

Cherishes the time she spend with you in your dreams

The hoildays about you are celebrated with an air of grief

Incense and flowers are placed on a path to lead your soul to Sumeru

Her walks through Sumeru causes her to get teary eyed

During the Sabzeruz festival she swears she sees brief flashes of your presence at the different stalls and games

Furina

Locks herself in her room to mourn

You were a best friend to her, and now your gone

Makes laws saying that no one can name an animal or other person after you

Makes your birthday a nation wide holiday in Fontaine

A botanical garden in the Court of Fontaine is created to honor your love of flowers

The funeral takes 6 days and every citizen is in mourning

She makes your favorite sweets and shares them with Neuvillette to make both of them feel better

She and Neuvillette grieve together and get closer to each other more then they already are

During walks with Neuvillette in new garden, she swears your laugh will grace her ears

Itto

In tears

He was so close to you

In you last days , he spent time with you as much as possible

The gang is worried about him

He stops his beetle fighting and the games he loved to play with you

Once he makes it half way through the stages of grief he holds onto the card he gave you

The denial stage hits him hard, and then the anger stage hits him harder

He is an emotional mess

Shinobu tries to help him through his emotions

Gets closer to the friends he has so he can feel better

Once he gets his emotions in order, he becomes even more passionate about the games you both would play together

Sometimes during intense games, he swears he hears you chering loudly for him

Wanderer

While he doesn't show outside emotions, on the inside he is a wreck

Hates everyone and everything

The anger stage of grief hits him hard

He now spends most of his time with Nahida

Holds onto any gifts you've given him over the years

He would have shut done if it weren't for Nahida

He visits every shrine of yours he can find

Leaves small offerings

Buys things he know you would have liked

Tries to hide the fact that he is in mourning

When he travels down roads alone, he can sometimes hear your jokes and he can't hep but sigh

Diluc

His emotions are... fucked up

He has already lost his father and now he's lost someone he saw as a little sibling

It was his job to protect you, and he failed

Knows he couldn't protect you from illness, but he could have made you suffer less

Would visit you wentever he could when he wasn't working

Wold give you gifts to make you feel a bit better

Would use that money of his to find the best doctors for you

Visits your shrine during his off hours

Honors you by being a better Darkknight Hero for Mondstadt

Might try and talk to Kaeya in good faith if only to say he tried for you

Sometimes, he hears you tell him to take a break and if he doesn't he'll work himself into an early grave

Cyno

Also silent

He also saw you as a little sibling

It shakes him a bit

He's supposed to be strong, and yet he wasn't strong enough to get you help

Upset at the doctors that they couldn't find a cure for you

Gets even more blood thristy

Your death breaks his heart

Everyone notices he's upset, especially Tighnari

Visits your shrine and promises to protect the others in honor

On his walks through the desert, especially at night, he hears your laughter behind him and it's bittersweet to him

Xiao

Leaves the room

He's seen his friends die and now he lost his sibling

He and Zhongli cry together over your death

He shuts himself off from everyone even more than he already does

Would light a lantern for your soul

Visits your favorite places with Zhongli

Holds your favorite plushie close

Cuddles the plushie close at night

Visits the shrine every evening with flowers

He is a bit mad a Baizhu for not helping you get better

Gets closer to Verr Goblet and Yanxiao

Goes to your burial site with Almond Tofu to feel like he's eating with you again

When he's on the balcony of Wangshu Inn, he feels you hear his arm, and your voice telling him to smile and take care of his friends

Neuvillette

Fontaine is getting weeks of rain

You were one of his grandbabies

He saw you as full of life like Furina, and now you're dead

He tries to drown himself in work to avoid coping

Enjoy's Furina's plan for a garden to honor you

Once Furina makes him cope in a healthy manner, he walks through the garden

Often sits to enjoy the silence some days

Like to reminisce over the time you two spent together

Makes laws about you and legacy

Makes sure the garden is properly upkept

No longer tries to drown himself in work, on purpose

Sometimes hears your voice and feels your presence on the bench he likes to sit at in the garden

Cries only with Furina in private

Xianyun

Shocked

By now she saw you as one of her children

She thought you were an immortal and your death ruins that

Upset that you were unable to be healed by doctors

Makes toys you would have loved

Ganyu has to keep her wraith in check

Takes walks around the mountains to clear her head

Once stable, she cries

Visits your grave to leave the flowers you love

Keeps some of your old jewlery

Keeps your old jewelry in a special box in her abode

Helps Ganyu and Shenhu mourn in health ways, and vice versa

Honors you in her work

Sometimes hears you voice on the winds at night
