Choices Insiders June 2024

I completely forgot about the Insiders this month, and yesterday there just wasn't the time to get to it. So here we are now!

When I learned about this, my mind instantly tracked back to when Open Heart 2 & 3 was releasing and how things started getting, and I was worried about history repeating itself. Thankfully that doesn't look to have been the case.

I'm of mixed feelings about this one, originally I was hoping it would be a case of the MC already being a Firefighter, but once seeing the description for the first chapter and seeing that the Love Interest is going to be another boss Love Interest, I did sigh.

This is perhaps the only reason I would be willing to give the book a go as Cats are ALWAYS a win.

I have to admit, I completely forgot that there were two books releasing this month. I never actually finished Roommates with Benefits but may start fresh with this one. I remember seeing the announcement of it getting a spinoff and being surprised about it.

As for the image, I'm guessing that it is meant to be the CG for the Love Interest.

So in Roommates we got the bubbles, and now for Rivals we have this. I do wonder if sometimes they ever think about just doing the same as the It Lives Within team and going the full nudity route with characters.

I know for a fact that there is going to be a third Immortal Desires which I will not complain about, however I am SO BEHIND on BK2 (I've only played chapter 1), so definitely going to be catching up before BK3 has it's wide release.

I really thought that this would be a duology, but there are no complaints about a third.

I think rather than a third book that follows Kieran and MC, it would be better to have a spinoff that focuses on one of the other realms mentioned during BK2.

I wonder which stories they would be adding to, I remember people joking about a legacy sequel to The Royal Romance series that has the daughter as the MC, but if they are thinking of ways to add to the classic stories, then I wouldn't rule it out.

Looks as though there will be two books releasing in August, the first being the much awaited All Of Us which I am interested to see what it will be like. The next is a new title in the form of Plus One which going by the title and the background will be something wedding related.

I have to admit, the only book I am up to date on is The Deadliest Game. Hot Shot and Immortal Desires I am so many chapters behind on while with Guarded and Along Came Treble, it's one or two chapters.

Next Wide Release is The Ghost Of Us which I am really looking forward to! Then Filthy Rich which I imagine will be releasing in July.

This one I am looking forward to, if it is meant to be like It Lives then I am feeling good about it. This feels like a book that would be a good chance to bring back the Nerve System from It Lives. Really looking forward to Terror Fest when it begins it's Wide Release.

Blaire Reviews: Ezra Season 4

Disclaimer: This is all my opinion, you are allowed to disagree with me. I encourage you to read this route and form your own opinions. (It’s no secret that EAA is my favorite series, so this will probably be extremely biased)

First Impressions

The stakes are very high going into this season. Red is on the loose, and with the spell on the Ice Queen's heart broken, it's only a matter of time before she's there as well. Probably doesn't help that Ezra broke the fucking front door down because either could easily walk into the house and kill everyone.

The conflict becomes immediately apparent when Ezra and FMC go to the university and find that all of the students and faculty are in some sort of trance, lifelessly moving around the school, while barely reacting to anything going on around them (If only Bosco was in this route, he'd fit right in).

They go to the library to find Darla, only to discover that she and Omar are also under this mysterious spell, and have lost their memories of magic. We also got this glorious moment (and you're lying if you said you picked any other option).

Ezra, Mouse, and Edward go off to find Red (and restore the power of three after Ezra broke it last season by running away like the dramatic bitch he is for like the fifth time in his route) leaving FMC with Nora and Arin, who get her to confess that the spell around the Ice Queen's heart has been broken. Fortunately, FMC is also given confirmation that she was not responsible for what was happening to the student body.

Unfortunately, we find out that Red is the one responsible for this, having stolen Omar's lamp and using them essentially as an army to literally "paint the town red".

In order to find Red's book, Ezra and FMC realize they need to go to the magic world to find it. Nora goes with them in order to collect ingredients she needs to reverse Dr. Tutorea's curse. But Arin warns them that The Ice Queen would know if Ezra was in the world, so they had to be quick.

The group (minus MMC and Lucas for some reason) performs a spell that will allow the door between worlds to be slightly open. I thought that this heart scene was incredibly well done, and was 100% worth the hearts.

Once in the magic world, we're immediately introduced to Galahad. Now I know plenty of people want his route, which I can understand, (the amount of male LIs who are genuinely sweet off the bat is very low) but I found him to be boring. Granted, he wasn't introduced until halfway through Ezra's last season, and his character was barely used. If we were given more time to see his character, maybe I'd understand the hype around him more.

Ezra finds Red's book and reads it, realizing that Red was the one who killed the wolves (like with Grandma, I'd suspected it, but the reveal was still shocking nonetheless). The Ice Queen shows up (though we don't actually see her), and with Red's book, the potion for Dr. Tutorea, and our new friend who Ezra totally isn't jealous of, the group goes back through the door.

I loved the final battle (even if it was paywalled) and being able to see everyone working together to take Red down. AND MOUSE FINALLY GOT TO SLAP HER!

Good for you baby, I'm proud of you.

For someone who has been getting hyped for this entire route, the Ice Queen made an appearance for a whooping one episode. In her defense, she did make the most of her short appearance. Her turning on Red and calling her out for betraying the hunters and Grandma was an amazing moment. Also:

Yeah, it's a little on the nose, especially since we already know she's getting a route in June. Still, I thought it was a fun addition. See you then Lavinia!

The finale was similar to Nora's. The MCs get their memories back, and FMC, Ezra, Nora, Lucas, and Dr. Tutorea go to the magic world. But what I wasn't expecting was that last heart scene. In all honesty, it probably was just a cute moment between Ezra and FMC, and I'm probably overthinking things. But it seemed a lot like they were exchanging vows- So I'm allowing myself to have this headcanon that they eloped.

Then and Now

Since this was Ezra's final season, I'm going to compare the character and relationship dynamics in his first and last seasons.

When we first meet Ezra, he's clearly the mean, snarky LI that we have never seen before, especially in wlm routes. We did get a few glimpses of a softer, more gentle side of Ezra as the season progressed, and he showed himself to be very protective over FMC (especially when Edward was introduced). One thing I loved about the relationship dynamic between FMC and Ezra was the banter. Both of them have very strong personalities, and there were moments where they would clash with each other. But rather than being malicious remarks towards each other, these arguments were more playful jabs, which was refreshing.

In this season, Ezra was much more open with FMC. There was still some witty banter between the two of them, but we also got more sweet moments. There was also better communication, and there was clearly a great amount of trust there. Ezra didn't run off as much and would tell FMC his plans beforehand to make her feel more comfortable.

In my opinion, Ezra is an example of the rude LI trope done right. He admires FMC's ambition and bravery, mentioning how most people don't have the guts to stand up to him (which is the origin of the nickname "Little Star"). I've seen other LIs of this type belittling the MC, and sometimes downright insulting them Chance Valentine, but Ezra clearly respects her.

Final Thoughts

It's always sad to see such a beloved route end. This story had so much potential, and it's sad to see the potential wasted by ending a route early, especially with such a beloved LI. As someone who isn't attracted to men, it's rare for me to find a wlm route that I can avidly enjoy and look forward to seeing updates for.

Despite the ending feeling somewhat rushed, this season was incredibly well done and allowed us time to see our favorite characters one last time. Red was an amazing and ruthless villain, the dynamic between the group was wonderful. I don't think we could have asked for a better ending (just maybe a few seasons later).

Overall Rating: 8/10

Favorite CG

I was stuck between this CG and the last one, but if there's anything that I'm weak for, it's beautiful lighting and attractive women.

B-PROJECT

I think it's super obvious by now that B-Project (Kodou*Ambitious, Zecchou*Emotion, and Kaikan Everyday ((even tho I don't play it oof))) is....very special to me

But like,, I never gave an exact reason why? I just scream about it in the tags

Well, this is going to be a post about some of the small and big things i absolutely about my 14 idol boys and their super cute A&R!

This is long so uhh have fun reading! 💕

•The characters: they're so unique and individually stick out in their own ways. Goushi and his temper, Momotaro and his mom habits, Mikado and his nerdiness, it goes on.

It's just so great. After you know them a bit you feel yourself get attached (I've seen it happen thrice) and you want to know more about them. The extroverts aren't all the same and they don't have the same habits (i.e. Yuuta is a literal puppy but Haruhi has a social swag that makes him different) Same with the introverts!

They're pretty realistic in some of their reactions as well. Miroku tries to be perfect and it doesn't work bc it's too good so Kento needs to teach him charm. Ryuji is genuinely surprised when Tsubasa shows concern for him and Tomohisa. There's a few examples but they all make the characters more loveable.

The music: you look me dead in the eyes and tell me that NONE–not a single note out of the 50+ songs–of the B-Project songs are even DECENT. I dare you. I will fight you.

The music is just...beyond me. They really know how to hit you in the Zecchou emotions

One song like lonely fangs can hype you up to where you feel like you can climb mountains and well, discover a new world Whereas another song like love☆revolu can make you feel like you're in a romantic getaway and the wind is blowing you in the right path

The seiyuus do a fantabulous job at singing and keeping their character simultaneously too (cough happy ending cough)

Also the songs are just straight up bops like???? please listen to them

When you really give it a chance, it feels like you're a part of their world and you can just jam out

The MC, Tsubasa Sumisora: This one is more aimed towards the anime since she isn't present in the games(?)

I've seen people throw serious shade at Tsubasa for 'getting in the way of their yaoi.' Gonna be real for a good moment:

Shut the fuck up.

If that's all you care about when watching B-Pro then guess what, you ain't getting it. This is about them wanting to make it big. Not getting it on. Go away.

Tsubasa is just an absolute joy and a sweetheart. Not only does she genuinely care for the boys (^see point abt Ryuji being surprised by it), she tries her diddly darn hardest at her job

After Yashamaru leaves she keeps herself together and doesn't let his threats shake her up. she gives it her all to get the boys to the top

Shes also very pretty as well. Her design is simple but she sticks out in her own way to me <3 she can be dramatic at times (more in S1) but I take it as that she was still adjusting to her job

The seiyuus/voice actors:I'll keep this one short. If I could hug these guys I really, really would

They're just the best and I'm so thankful that they make the liveshows happen and give the fans a fun time performing

They really do a superb job voicing the boys and singing the songs. B-Pro wouldn't be possible w/o these guys they're the really MVPs

Also they give us silly things like this:

Toyonaga is always just,,,,the crazy one it cracks me up while Kato is just as handsome and stylish. Hanae is a sweetie sjdjdj

I love that they're all friends and stuff

It's not that popular in the west and I kind of wish it was. But at the same time it feels like MY thing—the thing that makes me feel like, well, ME

It's just a big bundle of good things that can make you smile when you're sad or dance when you're bored

It might be kind of an underdog within the idol community (at least IMO) but I will always love it with open arms

These boys are more than just crafts to please a female audience

A little update on how it's goin.

I completed/deleted some game apps from ny phone.

But yeah for the longest time, all year basically, my time had been preoccupied with mobile games and discord and reading manga and webtoons, like a shit load of them, like hundreds almost.

And again, I think I'm starting to get better at grasping my time management for all the things I need to do in my life instead of hyper focusing on games and webtoons. It's very easy to feel left behind in games, when you are unable to dedicate a lot of time to it, especially if you play many ganes at once, to distribute time amongst them.

Well, I want to actually try enjoying Genshin Impact, and fix all the weapons and dragons and wyrmprints in Dragalia Lost, and organize my medals and traits in KHUx, and try playing Guardian Tales more, I like that pixelated art story it's got goin on. Most of my focus has gone to Obey Me! Shall We Date?, that I absolutely love and am enamored with lmao.

The game I finished recently was Liar! Uncover the Truth, whose story has surprised me as its amazing the redemption they all get in the sequel. Always so much more goin on to people that you think you know and it showed that, and it showed them willing to change for the MC and the MC for them, for the relationship to start and work out and to go past any prejudices and assumptions both people had about the other person.

It's just a total damn shame that I wasn't playing the game in real time when it first released in 2017?/2018? So I missed out on a lot of special events, but oh well, I can see some special CG art on tumblr/twitter/instgram, at least.

Then been reading so many webtoons, I plan to make a recommendation document sometime, actual concrete what I think are the best ones I'd recommend, not just curated "oh I think this person would like these particular ones".

Well, now I'd just like to say that I'm doing well and I've been here chatting up with peeps, but not reblogging anything until my drafts reach 0.

So sadly, I've been missing out on some goods. I just like to have a process and planned way of doing things personally, so I'd planned that I would evenly distribute queue on both blogs up to 130 posts and reblog around 50 posts on each blog, to get rid of the bulk faster.

Then, when that is finished, I'd go through blogs I'm following to see what's going on with people since the 4 or so years I've been gone and see if I'm still interested in things or lost interest and unfollow blogs.

Then, I'd go thru my tumblr user tag, tag and find blogs to follow that have my current and newer interests.

Finally, I'd be good to go on just casually visiting tumblr to reblog and queue again, and finally look into all those masterposts in writing advice, book recs, art advice and utilize that. Use it, learn stuff. Excited for this!

So yeah, pardon me if you see older posts being reblogged. They've just been hidden in my drafts for years. Stuff I'd been meaning to look at more closely later and never did.

As you can see, gosh I wonder how many will be from inactive or deleted blogs. When that is the case, I have no choice but to post on pink4walls because that's where the drafts are at.

But yeah again, this blog is main interests blog and appreciation for riku and the other one is aesthetic inspo blog to put anything else into.

Choices Insiders November 2022

Hello everyone! Here we are once more the latest Insiders email, so let's have a look over it.

Undercut due to length of post

I must admit, it wasn't until some point during last week that I got to Laws 2. I had a feeling from the moment BK1 ended that Aislinn, MC, and Gabe were going to leave McGraw Byrne. I have enjoyed it so far and I am curious what the main case of the book will be. Something tells me that we'll be going up against Martin and McGraw Byrne. Also interested to see who else we'll be recruiting.

I don't really know what to make of this book to be honest. I'm making my way through it because I'm curious to see what happens next, but yeah. We'll see what happens.

All the art that people do for these books is always amazing! My hat off to those who do it!

By the looks of things, I'm wondering if perhaps this background is for a CG. Only one way to find out!

I have a strong feeling that this book is a Single Love Interest book with MC being a member of one family and the Love Interest being from the other. So I think it's safe to say this will be one a forbidden romance book. I do kind of get some Shakespearean vibes from this, maybe the whole thing of two families against each other. I don't know, purely guessing here haha.

At this point, I feel like I've said all I can about Blades 2 as there is no new information. Until the Q&A is released, I can't think of anything else to say.

I do like the font they've used for Kiss of Death, gives me a crime noir vibe. I am Interested to see what this will be like.

Looks like for VIP it will be starting off with a holiday in Getaway Girls. I am interested to see what this will be like, but until we have more info, there's not much else I can say.

As I said before, I think Roommates with Benefits will be one of their more mature books. This is another one I think will be a Single Love Interest book, whether it will be Gender of Choice for MC remains to be seen. I do get the feeling that this might be a college set book, not sure.

I really can't say anything about First Comes Love since we have no information. The title makes it sound like it'll be the first book in either a duology or trilogy of stories, no idea on that one.

Tomorrow sees the end of The Nanny Affair series. I was surprised by the fact that it ended up becoming a series. But hey, here we are. I can't say it's one I would return to.

I've completely fallen behind on Slow Burn, to be honest, can't give a reason why, it's just one of those. Same with The Nanny Affair actually.

Murder at Homecoming is one I have not fallen behind on, that has kept my attention. I am really enjoying it. I always love mystery stories. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out as we continue.

I didn't play Surrender BK1, so I cannot say anything about the second book, haha. Looking forward to Guinevere in January and seeing how they have interpreted Arthurian Legend. And then we'll get to see what Kiss of Death is like in February!
