Meh, this month's Choices Insiders is a whole bunch of nothing.

Just some quick scribbles over AI generated images (I was actually able to read "getty images" from the lady's face 😅), same old questions we already know answers to in FAQ section and only Filthy Rich has a certain release month. PB is definitely avoiding uncomfortable topics such as ugly MCs and AI "art".

Speaking of Filthy Rich, we now know what it is about.

Choices Insiders February 2024

I actually forgot about this coming in tonight haha!

Here we go again.

For me it's Gabriela, absolutely loved how she was written in BK1. I do like Cas as well, but I prefer Gabriela. That being said, I may do a replay with a poly route before BK2 begins it's Wide Release.

I haven't seen much about this since it came out. I'll give it a go when it begins it's Wide Release though, just to see what it's like.

I'm not too keen on the idea of a VIP exclusive prequel to a book in case they reference it beforehand, but that's just me. I am looking forward to The Deadliest Game as I do enjoy a mystery story.

I'm not surprised Storyloom didn't last, but the biggest thing that sucks about it is that people are losing their jobs from it.

Said it before, I am useless with emojis, so I won't try and decipher these.

Whilst it's a given with MCs getting new outfits in sequel books, I do wonder if Cas and Gabe are getting new outfits for BK2

Having had a look at the image by zooming, I kind of wonder if the thing that will be collected is the stories of how certain characters became Vampires...

I still get the Black Veil Brides song Heart of Fire come into my head when I see the title of this one haha.

Wahoo! Nice to see at least one new new book with more than one Love Interest is coming.

I wonder if this is going to be their mature version of It Lives in the Woods in a way...

I'm going to talk about Along Came Treble a bit lower where the information is.

Only one new title announced, and it sounds like it could be the spinoff of Roommates With Benefits. But we probably won't know until later in the year.

I admit I haven't been making my way through Ship of Dreams, it's the next one to catch up on.

As for the others, I am enjoying them all. Not looking forward to the end of Dirty Little Secrets as I have enjoyed it, despite it being one of the more mature books. I think part of it's appeal is that it knows what it is while also having the mystery element to it.

The Cursed Heart 2 has been an interesting expansion and deeper dive into the lore of the world. Looking forward to learning more.

Alpha has been interesting with a different approach to Werewolf lore. Curious to see how things play out.

After not getting a Wide Release in January, we are now getting two this month! Although they didn't show it on their weekly chapter posts, Unbridled begins it's Wide Release tomorrow! I imagine Guarded will begin either the day Dirty Little Secrets ends or the week after.

So given the colour scheme used for the title with Along Came Treble and going by this description, it's safe to say that this will be a 17+ Single Love Interest book.

So for The Deadliest Game, MC is a crime writer, and I won't lie, I instantly thought of Castle seeing this. Interested to see what this will be like when it begins it's Wide Release.

A BIT OF A PERSONAL RANT UNDER THE CUT BECAUSE THIS IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS, WHAT PB'S BEEN DOING FOR A WHILE:

the way the quality and diversity of their books just disappeared should be studied, it's ridiculous what this app has become. the description of each new story sounds literally the same, just in different words, and the execution of those stories is simply pathetic. i wonder if the group of players who enjoy those stories is that big and that influential that they decided to lean into their demands? cause most of the tumblr fandom keeps criticising every aspect of their new stories and from what i've seen in insta comments people start complaining as well. so who enjoys those stories and pays for the vip and diamonds? which by the way is a rip-off for the quality they provide. the characters are bland, the plot predictable, the reusing of characters, backgrounds and music is irksome, MCs have an entire big round zero of personality, everyone is always happy and all sunshines and rainbows to the point of barfing. pb literally never listens to their players. their representation of minorities is pathetic, and don't get me started on the genderlocking. main characters are either helpless women who have tons of friends to help them in everything and are at the same time the most influential and hottest people on earth OR a strong, empowered woman, the epitome of girl power who does nothing to show that except for barking out pathetic "owns" which are supposed to end a misogynist's entire life, i suppose. all MCs are coded as cis white women, the race or gender do not matter. i suppose that's pb's way of catering to the readers' demands. pb KNOWS how to make great stories and has the resources, so what is it? are they that lazy and cheap? did they take their readers for granted waay to much? perhaps if they didn't assume that every story has to have romance as the most important part, their stories would've been much more interesting. i'm sorry, but at this point many of the readers' fanfics are much much better in terms of quality. i haven't been able to get past chapter one of any of the new stories for a hot minute now because they're so not engaging and bland.

Rivals with Benefits could honestly be good if PB dropped the ingenue MC thing just once and allowed us to be on equal footing with the LI, but I highly doubt that they will

okay, considering this was a popular enough question to make it into the Top FAQ section of this months Choices Insider email, i’m hoping PB realizes that we want more multiple LI stories and starts to make a change.

February 2024 Choices Insiders Tidbits

A couple of outfits for the feminine mc in Immortal Desires 2. Pretty! That blue is a pretty blue, and that purple shirt reminds me of Aislinn's look in LOA 2.

The money/diamond drain for ID 2. It reminds me of those memory teardrops in Nightbound.

Hah! I was right about Hearts on Fire being a firefighter book lol.

I'm excited for The Deadliest Game. It's a single LI book (for me since there's only 1 f!LI) but maybe since it's a murder mystery book, it'll be more plot driven rather than smut driven.

Ooo a goc mc, multi-LI slasher book? Consider me intrigued

Rivals with Benefits is probably the Roommates with Benefits spin-off. And just by the title alone, I'm not all that optimistic about it.

I wonder if Filthy Rich is that Taste of Royalty book that pb teased back in Nov or December last year?

Why does Along Comes Treble sound exactly like Hot Shot but music instead of hockey?? At least it sounds a little different from Platinum. I was expecting a smutty single LI rewrite of Platinum lol

based of the titles alone, “the deadliest game” and “the ghost of us” sound really interesting. the latter is most definitely a supernatural story, which YAY finally, another ghostly story, but then again it’s choices so i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just the mc fucking ghosts for 30 diamonds every chapter.
