These are all computational photography errors. Modern mobile photography is increasingly turning into computational photography every year. And sometimes this results in very interesting incidents, as in the photo below.  [caption id="attachment_85278" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone[/caption] At first glance, it may seem that everything is in order with the picture. But if you look more closely, you can see that the girl who published this photo looks different in two neighboring mirrors, and besides, neither of the mirrors reflects the girl’s real pose.  Is this iPhone possessed by the devil? Creating such an image in Photoshop or another editor is not difficult, but the caveat is that this photo was taken on an iPhone without any further processing.  The reason for this result is actually quite simple. For some reason, the iPhone algorithms mistook the girl’s reflections for other people, and since modern photos are taken by gluing together many instantly taken photographs, we see that from somewhere in this set of photos the iPhone took one girl, from somewhere else, and then I glued it all together.  The funny thing is that in the past, when there was no talk of any modern smartphones or cameras, such a photo could have been regarded as the work of the devil.

Although all these are still rumors It's possible that the base next-generation iPhones will still have 60Hz screens. [caption id="attachment_83433" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone 16 and 16 Plus[/caption] Insider Revegnus claims that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will receive 60Hz LTPS panels. In the first case, the diagonal will be 6.12 inches, in the second - 6.69 inches. That is, nothing will change relative to the current generation, although, of course, the panels themselves may be more modern. iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will still only offer 60Hz screens But the screens of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, as previously stated by other sources, will grow to 6.3 and 6.9 inches, respectively. To be more precise, 6.27 and 6.86 inches. Let us remember that earlier there were rumors that the younger iPhone 16 would receive 90 Hz screens. Also, previously, even younger new products were assigned an Action button. What else, besides the platform, will be new for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is still unknown. Insider Revegnus was the first to publish a photo of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 before its release, reported on the AMD GPU in the Exynos 1480 SoC, and also described the characteristics of the Exynos 2400, which were then confirmed in Geekbench software.

New Counterpoint Research Counterpoint Research data shows U.S. smartphone shipments fell 19% in the third quarter of 2023 as more and more Americans put off upgrading their smartphones. Smartphone shipments in the US have declined for four straight quarters. In particular, shipments of Samsung, Google and TCL decreased by 26%, 37% and 51% respectively. Apple's shipments fell 11% compared to the third quarter of 2022. [caption id="attachment_79290" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone 15[/caption] iPhone 15 sales are at a record low. Counterpoint cites three reasons that are contributing to the sluggish smartphone market in the US. Firstly, smartphones now have greater durability and better build quality than before. Secondly, new models released often do not live up to expectations in terms of technical upgrades. Thirdly, the uncertainty of the macroeconomic situation plays an important role. As for the iPhone 15, sales are at historically low levels. “We expect the ratio to recover seasonally in the fourth quarter, but it may still be worse than the same period last year,” Counterpoint said. Analysts are predicting iPhone 15 sales could hit a record low in the holiday quarter.

Rumors about the new line continue to spread iPhone 16 smartphones may be equipped with an additional button, as Macrumors writes. In addition, Apple is also planning to move the mmWave antenna away from the left side of the smartphone to accommodate this change. The iPhone 16 Pro's "action button" is expected to be flush with the device as Apple is expected to switch to solid-state technology and ditch the current design. While the action button is expected to change, the volume keys and power key will remain the same without any changes. These buttons are not currently solid state, although Apple's plans may change. iPhone 16 may get an additional button, and the action button will become solid-state [caption id="attachment_79161" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone 16[/caption] The purpose of the additional button, which sources call the “capture button,” is still unknown. It is expected to be located under the power button on the right side of the device and will be capacitive. Macrumors claims that the new button will be introduced on all iPhone 16 models, including the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models. The announcement of the iPhone 16 is expected in September next year.

However, the Federation Council did not ban the iPhone Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that the iPhone and other Apple devices definitely cannot be used for official purposes from the point of view of state security. It’s clear why people are abandoning the iPhone. At the very least, you definitely can’t use them for official purposes, because our non-partners are already listening to the whole world. This has long been proven; no one denies that such a possibility exists. From the point of view of state and personal security, of course, this already poses a certain threat. [caption id="attachment_73803" align="aligncenter" width="748"] iPhone[/caption] Valentina Matvienko added that Russia needs to continue to develop domestic industrial production, including the production of smartphones, to completely abandon Western gadgets. the head of the Federation Council said that the iPhone threatens state security Both the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Digital Development are doing this. They must be competitive in both quality and price. And with appropriate accompaniment. She added that there are no bans on the use of iPhones in the Federation Council, except at closed events: “Whether someone has an iPhone or not, it doesn’t matter, because we usually hold open meetings. But when closed meetings are held, where a certain level of secrecy is required, of course, the bringing of any phones, not just iPhones, is prohibited.” Previously, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia prohibited customs officers from using Apple products for official purposes. The Russian Ministry of Education has banned its employees from using iPhone smartphones and other Apple devices in the workplace from July 18, 2023. Last week, employees of all Rostec organizations were prohibited from using iPhone smartphones and other Apple equipment for official purposes. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade officially confirmed that department employees will be prohibited from using iPhone smartphones for work correspondence from July 17.

Deliveries are promised in November or December On the Chinese social network, the iPhone 15 and its price reduction, which has continued since the start of sales of new Apple smartphones, are leading the ranking of the most popular requests. According to Mydrivers, prices for all iPhone 15 models have dropped significantly. Some models can be purchased with a discount of $150 or more for older versions with the Pro prefix. [caption id="attachment_73032" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone and Huawei[/caption] The decline of the iPhone and the dawn of Huawei? Previously, a research report published by Counterpoint Research confirmed that sales of the iPhone 15 series were 4.5% lower in the 17 days since its release in China than iPhone 14 sales last year. At the same time, sales of the iPhone 15 Pro Max fell the most - by 14%. It is followed by the iPhone 15 Pro with an 11% drop. This situation turned out to be very unusual for the launch of new iPhones. The situation with the Huawei Mate 60 series is different. There are no Mate 60 smartphones in online stores. Huawei's official flagship store on JD.com also has no smartphones in stock and accepts purchase orders twice a day. Even if you manage to order a smartphone, deliveries will not be until November or December.

It was initiated by the Chinese authorities China has launched an investigation into iPhone maker Foxconn over taxes and land use, the Financial Times reported, citing Chinese state media. The Global Times, citing anonymous sources, said tax authorities were inspecting Foxconn facilities in Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces, while natural resources officials were inspecting facilities in Henan and Hubei. Foxconn said it would cooperate with the investigation: “Compliance with laws and regulations is a core principle of the group around the world. We will actively cooperate with the relevant authorities." The Global Times article quoted an expert as saying, "Taiwan-funded enterprises, including Foxconn, should also shoulder corresponding social responsibilities and play a positive role in promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations." The iPhone manufacturer became a defendant in the investigation [caption id="attachment_72986" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone[/caption] In the past, Beijing has targeted local subsidiaries of Taiwanese companies through regulatory investigations and political pressure. Chinese officials often call on Taiwanese companies to promote “peaceful development” between the two sides. Apple is trying to navigate a rocky relationship with China at a time of tension between Beijing and Washington. Last week, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook traveled to China and met with members of Xi Jinping's leadership team, including Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang and China's ministers of commerce and information technology. Chinese government departments and state-owned enterprises have banned or discouraged employees from using Apple devices in recent months. In September, Beijing warned of "security incidents" related to the iPhone.

The update will reduce the specific absorption rate (SAR) of the smartphone to below 4 W/kg The French National Radio Frequency Regulatory Agency (Agence nationale des frequences, ANFR) announced that Apple has committed to releasing the iOS 17.1 update, which will reduce the radio frequency emissions of the iPhone 12, by October 24. [caption id="attachment_68756" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone 12[/caption] iPhone 12 will not be banned in France: Apple will release iOS 17.1 within 10 days “ Following the recall of the iPhone 12 due to excessive specific absorption rate (SAR), Apple has committed to releasing the update in France. The patch will be available to all French users no later than October 24 ,” ANFR said. The agency also added that after the update, the specific absorption rate (SAR) will not exceed the country's limit of 4 W/kg. Apple has already tested the beta version of iOS 17.1, which recorded a decrease in SAR; it remains to release the final version of the patch. It became known recently that the iPhone 12 exceeds the radio frequency radiation standards adopted in France . French Digital Economy Minister Jean-Noël Barrault threatened to stop selling this model in the country if Apple does not correct the situation.

He scored 149 points The DxOMark laboratory has updated the ranking of the best smartphones for taking selfies, putting the iPhone 15 Pro Max in first place, which received as many as 149 points. This is 4 points more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and Huawei Mate 50 Pro, which were rated at 145 points. The iPhone 15 Pro Max scored 145 for photography and 156 for video. DxOMark said that the quality of pictures taken with the iPhone 15 Pro Max selfie camera has improved significantly compared to the previous generation, especially in terms of exposure, focus, and background blur. iPhone 15 Pro Max achieved better results with accurate exposure and a wide dynamic range in photos and videos. iPhone 15 Pro Max is far ahead of all competitors in the DxOMark rating [caption id="attachment_65753" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone 15 Pro Max[/caption] In brightly lit scenes, the detail in photos and videos is excellent. Regardless of whether we are talking about a static or moving scene, the smartphone demonstrates excellent stabilization and accurately blurs the background. At the same time, engineers noted noise that sometimes appears on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as random artifacts in photos and videos. When recording video while driving, there are occasional differences in sharpness between frames. 34% of respondents have an Apple Watch Young people in the US love the iPhone. A survey by investment bank Piper Sandler found that 87% of respondents own or have previously owned an Apple smartphone, and 88% said they were going to buy an iPhone again.  [caption id="attachment_65164" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhones[/caption] It is worth noting that more than 9,000 people were surveyed, and the average age of respondents was just under 16 years.   Young people in the US mostly use iPhones. 88% said they would buy such a smartphone again The survey also showed that 34% of respondents own an Apple Watch smartwatch, while in April, according to a similar survey, the figure was 31%.  Also, Apple Pay, which is logical, dominates among payment systems. But the figure is not so large compared to the share of the iPhone: only 42% of respondents used the payment system in the last month. However, this may be a consequence of the young age of the respondents.  It is also interesting that 31% of respondents own virtual or augmented reality devices. This is a good sign for the upcoming Apple Vision Pro.

Details from a verified insider Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has confirmed that an all-new MagSafe battery pack for the iPhone is in development, but not yet ready for deployment. The next-generation battery pack uses a new concept that allows users to “daisy chain” multiple battery packs by stacking them on top of each other and wirelessly charging multiple devices simultaneously. For example, it will be possible to charge two iPhones simultaneously by placing one on each side of the battery. Of course, it will also have a USB-C port. [caption id="attachment_54496" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhones[/caption] The new MagSafe battery will be able to charge two iPhones simultaneously. Gurman said he doesn't think the new AirPods Pro with a USB-C port in the charging case announced next week will be sold as the third-generation AirPods Pro. The third-generation AirPods Pro will be a more significant update, coming out next year or early 2025, Gurman said. Previously, sources published photographs of non-original MagSafe external batteries with a USB-C charging port instead of Lightning, which were already prepared by manufacturers of counterfeit products. Apple's presentation will take place tomorrow, with announcements of the iPhone 15 and other devices expected.

The company could lose more than $200 billion in market capitalization The ban on Chinese officials using Apple smartphones at work has led to a serious drop in the company's shares, and it may continue. [caption id="attachment_53521" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone[/caption] The ban on Chinese officials using the iPhone triggered a collapse in Apple's shares The shares have already fallen by almost 8% in total, although they have recovered a little in price since the peak. Analysts expect that the Chinese ban will ultimately cost Apple $212 billion in capitalization. It is worth noting that the ban for Chinese officials applies not only to the iPhone, but in general to all devices of foreign companies, but Apple’s position in China is especially strong, so it hit Apple the hardest. However, the ban applies only to the workplaces of officials - no one forbade them from using iPhones at home.
