PARAMOUR

Hyacinthus Shrapnel is the 4th child of the infamous, late (as in dead) and conniving businessman, Clematis Gunn: the crowning result of a scandalous affair between wives. He was raised in a fabricated lap of luxury but was always hidden behind closed doors; a bastard is best if never thought of; let alone seen, heard, or mentioned. Gunn’s untimely but inevitable death, left the fate of Hyacinthus uncertain — however, he was saved from an untimely social death by his eldest sibling, Tagetes. The catch: he is to be wed to The Keeper of Chateau Aux Ailes D’or in a sham of a political marriage, supposedly beneficial for both parties. No one has seen The Keeper outside of their flowing robes and perpetual masquerade masks, and their motivations for marrying Hyacinthus on obviously forged papers is unknown. Nor can Hyacinthus discern the legitimacy of Tagetes’s claims of the "benefits" of this union. Hyacinthus’s only respite from this growing web of treacherous lies is his personal butler, Amon, even if the two bicker more than they exchange pleasantries. As the two of them grow closer, with Amon even donning the veil of Hyacinthus’s paramour, his secrets slowly come to light, in ways that offset everything Hyacinthus thought he knew.

or, in summary:

hyacinthus shrapnel (31, he/him, and our main pov mc), is the illegitimate child of wealthy but super shady biz man clematis gunn. he’s hidden from the public view for most of his childhood/adolescence due to this, and faces imminent “social death” after his father dies bc he’s a bastard tm and has no claims to his father’s estate or $$.

eldest sibling of the gunn bunch, tagetes (and the main inheritor of the estate after their father’s passing— which is what clematis’s second wife belladonna is currently PISSED about), has a way out of this “out of the goodness of their heart” (PLEASE read that with heavy sarcasm): arranging a marriage between hya and The Keeper who is one of the 6 chambers that lord over society and have more power even than the monarchy/government. they’re seen as unchallenged in their authority and The Keeper specifically has the most power of the entire chamber bc they have all the money.

why the FUCK The Keeper would want to marry a bastard like hya is beyond him and hya smells that something is amiss, but he doesn’t really care as long as he has money and a comfortable living where people leave him tf alone. he has no interest in forging a relationship with The Keeper and initially, the feeling is mutual. after the wedding, hya is left to his own devices and is given reign over the staff and general happenings at the chateau while The Keeper does… god knows what. hya doesn’t really care, takes the role on a shallow level… but ends up getting his interest unwillingly piqued by a particular butler who has no qualms shooting barbs with and at him: amon.

the two end up getting closer for a variety of reasons on both of their ends, and after some offhanded advice from tagetes as well as amon continuing to get under his skin, hya takes on amon as his paramour and the two start up a sexual relationship where oops feelings ARE getting involved.

however like mentioned, there’s something weird not just about The Keeper or their marriage to hya, but the chamber in general. and for better or worse hya’s going to have to deal with some of it even if he doesn’t want to LMAO.

REQUIEM FOR THE MONOCHROME (or just monochrome) — follows the story of hya's younger half-sister lavendula calderon as she navigates learning how to be her own person amid an abusive husband, her mother's expectations, and having the ability to feel all but trained out of her. this wip will also explore the messy situation that is hya's elder brother iberis and his affair with his childhood best friend myrtus who is married to their sister narcissus.

THE PRIM & THE PROVOCATIVE — in the aftermath of however the situation in monochrome solves itself, narcissus, lost and flighty heads to the capital to stay with tagetes and their husband reginae. being fully thrust into the world of high society, narcissus's strive to fit in may just be her downfall.

EMPIRE — with their initial plan to seize the chamber's power shafted by hya's unexpected interference, tagetes decides to take their ambition fully into their own hands. they will lie, cheat, steal, kill — they'll do whatever it takes to get their claws into this land, no matter the cost to claim it.

there is also a prominent au that’s brewing in my mind for this universe and surprise surprise, it’s a role swap au where amon is rich and hya is the butler. all of those will be tagged as “role swap au” until i make a better title.

I think this is my biggest yearly art-dump to date!

A lot of it is personal/friend art, though

1. I watched most of the Predator movies with my friends, and during one- I drew these two. the fisher’s hat one for a joke- the other was a meme image we shared from a con.

2. Emojis I made for an Isle server Discord

3. Tried to play a different game of D&D with a different friend, because I’m terrible at improve and at speaking in general, I asked if I ‘could play a druid stuck in wildshape, and his quest is to find someone to unstuck him’. He was a horse that kicked a chicken as a distraction to some guards so my to-be party member to sneak around and knock him out. His name is Kurr.

4. Played Cenozoic Survival with friends, and made two National Park styled posters. We were kelenkens that killed other kelenkens (the Kele-Killers), and a pack of Direwolves that lived in the swamp.

Everything here is from headword/RP with friends that We’ve been slowly planning out over the course of a year and a bit. Its a mix of final-fantasy-esq magic and dinosaurs.

21. Caustiopteryx. A Caudiopteryx that has acidic elemental powers and isn’t looking so great anymore.

22. Stryaticosaurus. A Stryacosaurus that has lightning elemental powers.

23. Dryovoidus. A Dryosaurus that has void-like powers that can turn into a puff of smoke at will.

24. Pyrosolophosaurus. A Parasaurolophus that has fire elemental powers.

25. Dinosaur mounts. not exactly domesticated, but tame enough to let a rider on their backs and steer them.

Friends got me into a Warriorcat clan generator thing witch is kind of like a rouge-lite drama-simulator? its hard to describe.

32. First major clan. absolute drama. Halfheart murdered a lot of cats by using the medicine cat, Laketail, and so did her daughter, Barkkit- only with a more claws-on-approach. 10/10 would recommend reading that book.

33. Current clan. Less drama- more survival. They’re not labelled, but we have; Lilacstar, Boulderheart, Flipleaf, Skyclaw, Blotchpaw, Owlfur and Wormtail.

Who makes up your family?  How close are you to them?

Sawyer signs happily, "My parents are my only family by blood, but I have many who I'm close to. My father is a midlander, native to Gridania, but settled in Thanalan. He spent much of my childhood on the road, repairing the homes of mud and clay during the floods that came with the rainy seasons. Despite that, we're close. The work always brought enough that the dry seasons were spent together, flying kites in the raging heat and painting patterns and murals on our home and on tablets with the other children at an oasis to the east. My mother held a more consistent schedule. She worked as a scribe, recording political business and generating cyphers while I was in the care of teachers. Our evenings together were always busy with chores and dinner, but I do have happy memories to lean upon."

"To start, I have my late father, Thokk, who was a healer and passed of natural causes, age. My mother, Yevelda, yet lives in my home town of Realta. She was a seamstress, and still is sometimes, when people approach her with tattered dresses and children's clothes to be refitted, but she is mostly retired.

"While I am unmarried, I think my partners would agree to be called family, Marie, Mina and Cam at least. Iberis has re-entered my life, but, things are strained with him. I think of Cam and Marie's little girl, Dahlia, as my own, and my friend Lou is as close to me as a brother could be."

Sawyer reaches out to grab Sybille by the arm, forcing fleur to bend towards them so they can plant a kiss on fleur cheek. They return to signing, "Sybille, certainly. I hired fleur years ago to join me on an expedition, to work as adventurers together and act as interpreter for the sake of the rest of the adventuring party, but our relationship has grown into one of great friendship. There is no one I trust more."

Borgakh holds the side of her face. "I shouldn't have mentioned Lou before, I'm liable to give him a big head, but my best friend is certainly that little warlock. I've given all of myself to protect him before, and I would again. He's earned it through our friendship, and his good heart."

Fae wrings her hands a little. "I don't have a friend I trust more than my partners. We keep greater secrets and stories between us than anyone else I've had in my life. I think I've always needed that as part of a romantic relationship, to be best friends, and share interests, and values, and pains. We have the four of us, so generally we can find connection and solidarity with at least one partner, if the others are too weary to shoulder a burden, or whatever the case may be."

So as you know there’s an event looming in the next month. There’s going to be a bunch of event temporary characters, that like in Redbellion, might stick around, might not. Might die, might not. So for now, I thought I’d go over them, at least show the faces, a few pieces of info.

Things that at least people can sort of hum on. As said in a previous post, this’ll include muses using Team DEFY of GFL as FCs, and a set using the Helltaker girls as FC. As well as including the FCs people voted on in the community poll awhile back. The only change, was that I swapped out the community’s vote for Rhea, for Nian. As she fits the mold I needed for characters.

Most of these muses have power ups that are heavily inspired by Bleach’s release system. With the 3rd Generation daughters using the call out of Dread and Fear, as they’re all named after the obstacles to enlightenment. The 2nd generation are all named after flowers, and use flourish and bloom. And the last group, use only Heart. Their releases allow them to channel parts of their patrons power, turning their bodies into hybrids of their respective monsters, where a full release is true to form, indulging in all the power their patron has. For the daughters, 3rd and 2nd generation, their patron is Jeanne. For the others, that has yet to be revealed.

More will be added on how these work, but for now known that these release relate to their more monster forms born under the Red Light, and for the last group their powers will be born under a different light. Their individual weapons and abilities on top of forms, will be revealed at a later time.

And if you’re curious, the first generation of Jeanne’s daughters are those like Lust, Envy, ect. The Redbellion daughters.

So without further ado, the new muses below. Big thanks to @usagienforcer​ and @dizzydeadinside​ for name help.

Starting with the 3rd Generation of Jeanne’s daughters, born as she fully realized her red world, and built off the souls that Michiko so kindly offered up to Jeanne as a gift.

These four are the closest to being mostly humanoid till their final forms, while others exhibit far more traits, these four made of such high quality souls, do not twist when subjects to so much of Jeanne’s power.

Name: Skara

Obstacle: Clinging to forms, perceptions, and mental states as ‘real’

Height: 5′6″

Personality: Quiet, reserved, uses few words and hides emotion.

Monster: Horned Centaur

Added Release Features: First release Skara sprouts horns on each side of her head, like large bull horns. Second release, Skara’s lower half takes the form of a horse, embodying a true centaur in look.

Name: Yuma

Obstacle: The obstacle of death itself, fear of change, and impermanence

Height: 5′7″

Personality: Honest, direct, stern and forward with actions and words.

Monster: Basilisk Lamia

Added Release Features: First release Yuma’s eyes take the properties of a Basilisk, inviting death as their glow and change to slits. Second release her lower half changes to that of the Basilik’s lower half, like Skara they remain mostly humanoid.

Name: Klesia

Obstacle:The habitual pattern of negative/destructive emotions

Height: 6′1″

Personality: Cold, angry, hostile and rash. Hates social interaction.

Monster: Zombie Amalgamation

Added Release Features: First release Klesia’s skin turns cold and she loses all feeling of pain. Second release, her body can freely detach, reform, sew together, and change shapes flesh wise.

Name: Deva

Obstacle: The craving for pleasure, convenience, and ‘peace’

Height: 5′7″

Personality: Aloof, scheming, teasing and strange. 

Monster: King Slime

Added Release Features: First release, Deva’s body becomes slime but retains it outward appearance, impacts on her merely splash slime. Second release she entirely tosses away the humanoid form to be a massive ever changing slime creature with many mysterious properties.

Next, the 2nd generation, born once Jeanne fully dragged Wadanoharo into her red universe and red world. Leeching the abundance of magic in her grasp to form these souls.

Like the 3rd generation, most of these try to retain some humanoid appearance, some fair better than others. Most adopt wings or very visible changes before second release.

Personality: Haughty, confident, impulsive.

Monster: Abomination*

Added Release Features: First release Dala is able to freely change and mold her body, most changes having many eyes. Second release all humanoid form is lost in an every change abomination of deep sea eldritch monstrosities.

Flower: Rafflesia

Height: 5′6″

Personality: Enigmatic, secretive, boastful.

Monster: All Insect Monster

Added Release Features: First release Raffia grows buzzing wings. Second release she turns into a mist of insects that may reform to turn into any sort of giant monster insect.

Name: Berri

Flower: Iberis

Height: 5′4″

Personality: Nervous, chipper, curious, holy!

Monster: Harpy

Added Release Features: First release sprouts harpy wings, second release Berri turns into an angelic harpy bathed in light.

Name: Hinu

Flower: Antirrhinum

Height:5′9″

Personality: Decisive, strict, punishing.

Monster: Gargoyle

Added Release Features: First release grows strong wings and slightly stone skin, second release turns into a hulking devilish gargoyle.

Name: Paver

Flower: Papaver

Height: 5′9″

Personality: Laid back, easy going, empathetic despite duties.

Monster: Behemoth

Added Features: First release Paver displays large horns and a swinging bushy tail. Second she grows immensely in size, turning into a full bull faced monstrosity.

Name: Nit

Flower: Aconitum

Height:5′4″

Personality: Cold, uncaring, vengeful.

Monster: Nue

Added Release Features: First release allows Nit to fade in and out of vision, second release she turns entirely into an unrecognizable creature, the exact appearance depends on the enemy’s fears.

Name: Lyco

Flower: Lycoris

Height:5′6″

Personality: Scheming, playful, cruel.

Monster: Hydra/Leviathan

Added Release Features: Lyco’s first release allows smoke, fire, and vapor to be used and shot out. Even giving her decapitation protection. The second allows her to turn fully into a massive leviathan hydra with endlessly growing heads and bodies. 

Name: Mea

Flower: Ipomea

Height:5′5″

Personality: Reserved, uneasy socially but confident otherwise.

Monster: Phoenix 

Added Release Features: Mea sprouts rainbow feathers wings, and second release turns her into a giant form changing phoenix. 

Name: Rysa

Flower: Chrysanthmum

Height:5′3″

Personality: Loving, teasing, sexually charged.

Monster: Medusa/Succubus

Added Release Features: First release her hair moves and shapes like snakes to turn others to stone. Second release she turns fully into a medusa like creature, lamia lower half and all. Those curious her hair and eyes can either turn to stone, or charm and hypnotize as she sprouts succubus wings.

Flower: Trillium

Height:5′3″

Personality: Fun, playful, hounds that bite.

Monster: Cerberus (duh)

Added Release Features: Rii’s first release adorns her with hound like senses, ears and tails. Her second release allows her to become cerberus, even making endless copies of herself as heads split off into new three headed bodies.

And finally the last group, that can be referred to for now, as the heart seekers. Are a group listed by Harune as potential candidates for the memory weaver’s heart. Gathered eventually by Zen.

These five are all from different places and times that will be explained in their debut drabbles.

Personality: Caring, easy going, older brother type. Selfless.

Monster: Manmade Golem

Added Release Features: Leb’s body becomes golem like, durable, regenerative, and brimming with magic.

Name: Raven Wainwright

Height: 5′4″

Personality: Silent, caring, secretive.

Monster: Manmade Automaton

Added Release Features: Raven’s body because doll like and has the ability to suffer more damage, and puppets others/other dolls.

Name: Gao Jie Xue

Height: 5′8″

Personality: Proud, impulsive, a small bully at times.

Monster: Dragon

Added Release Features: Gao’s release allows her to change from just having some dragon features, to have wings, to being a full dragon.

Name: Kiyoko Kurousa

Height: 5′7″

Personality: Silent, few words, a loner despite good intentions.

Monster: Black Moon Bunny

Added Release Features: Kiyoko’s release allows her to make use of lunar bunny magic, as well as make use of shadows as weapons.

Name: Aloysha Kazakov

Height: 5′5″

Personality: Closed off, standoff ish, selfish.

Monster: Siberian Tiger Thunder

Added Release Features: Aloysha’s release allows them to harness thunder and shift between added claws, and full transformation into a tiger.

There will be a lot more to edit and add, but i wanted to get this sort of, basic thing posted.

Iberis didn’t look at him. Myrtus sighed. “Please don’t be cross.”

He waited a beat, two. Iberis only shifted slightly to get more comfortable, then took his glasses, chain and all, and set them on the nearby nightstand table. “I’m tired of having all of the sensibility between us.”

The saloon was lively and the night was young.

On the northern-most outskirts of Rapture, holed up in the saloon of some seedy little town, Graves nursed his drink.

GRAVE (the chronicles of lathsbury; epilogue saga—before part 2)

“I can bet ya it’s the lil’ missy. Heard her complaining about it aaaallll night a few weeks ago, last time I saw her. Can’t imagine it’s any better now.”

“I’m afraid I must inform you her complaining has only gotten worse.” Saith said gravely. The two men exchanged a look, then devolved into laughter.

TASTE (paramour; ft. amon lying through his teeth lmao)

“It’s not as though I find you attractive.” Amon snorted. “Oh, of course not, my liege. Nor I you, you’re too pretty for my taste.”

“I fail to see how this is payback.” Hyacinthus snapped, scowling at his tease, but the sinfully deep chuckle that Amon let out had absolutely no right to alight his whole spine ablaze with the prickly sensation of desire.
