The training stimulus will dictate the result - if It doesn’t line up with the the goal then It will likely slow progress . The question should always be “what am I trying to do right now and what’s the best way to get there”. The Coaches job is to create the right stimulus that contributes directly and effectively toward the agreed goal . This can be both physical and psychological . What needs to be in and what doesn’t because time and energy are limited resources. Training has a purpose . It’s not a “bunch of stuff that makes you sweat “ or a random mix up that results in meaningless exhaustion .
