I just reread the last chapter of the main story and nearly cried. They’ve come so far, I love these idiot boys sm

I actually really enjoyed how different it was to write Nat in the newest snippet vs the main story, which I worked on last. I mean, don't get me wrong, I absolutely adored writing his character progress and his perspective in CYE, but it's just so... freeing? exciting? to write the glimpses of his confidence and growth in the snippets that fall later on and into the 'future' of the timeline.

And it's not just Nat, it's their relationships/dynamic in general! So fun to explore how much they've learned about each other over time, and how their interactions have become different, familiar, and more... secure(?)

Future snippets are definitely much easier for me to write as the atmosphere is a lot lighter in them, mentally-wise and in general. It's pretty satisfying lol! But I don't think the contrast between the main story and the future snippets would be anywhere near as satisfying if I hadn't put in all that work to develop the mental health journey in CYE.
