A Chapter 7 thought
What if in addition to blaming Lilia for causing Malleus’s overblot the senate/council/I forget what they're called blames Yuu. Because their soul is empty and they showed up at the start of the year so clearly they're the cause for these multiple incidents.
And that's what makes Grim overblot. Not Yuu going home, but Yuu being taken away by thorns.
