I know supervisors aren't your friends and i keep a healthy boundary with my older higher ranking colleagues but it is kinda nice having a couple older higher ranking colleagues who check in on me and my health out of what seems to be genuine concern and not a manipulative business tactic

#our head of communications is a really great lady who at face value you would not think would get along with me #superficially she gives off like insta wine mom with designer clothes vibes but in truth shes older Italian American elle woods #if elle went into PR and crisis management instead of law #shes hilarious and very caring and while she occasionally goofs shes very quick to apologize and correct her behavior #and since she started her team's well being and morale has improved significantly so im glad she's here #but its always funny talking to her because she swings from trying to mom me to being a friend so quickly lol #she wanted to know how much switch of meds was going and how im feeling with the side effects and if treatment was booked #its just nice when they check in knowing they cant and won't use it against me
