☆Seeking Beta Readers☆

For those who have the interest and spare time, I'd like a second set of eyes for what I've got for Ch3, and variable-hunters for Ch 1+2!

What I'd Like Help With

1) A beta reader for UTDM Ch3's rough draft - I'd love a second set of eyes and opinions, and I'd like to have the variations, dialogue and scenes set in stone before coding them.

2) Adding variations in UTDM's Ch1 and Ch2. I don't mean entire paragraphs for a single variable, but moreso mentions and references.

I will be using discord DMs to communicate w/ beta readers. No tumblr DMs or tumblr asks.

This is low pressure and not serious. I totally understand if IRL comes up (lord knows its been kicking my butt for months). Please tell me if you're busy and/or no longer interested. And don't worry, I am NOT dumping thousands of words on you at once nor expecting fancy professional editing! It's just a second set of eyes to suggest things and notice glaring errors because I'm often too deep in the weeds to see them.

Suggestions for Existing Variations

I'm also taking suggestions from readers for the tons of variations in UtDM, within reason. I may not include it and I am NOT adding new variables to character creation. You can send this through tumblr asks or tumblr dms. Please do not spam me.

Examples: Taking off glasses before bed, more chronic pain mentions, more references to one's culture, a long tail getting in the way, and so on.

Bad Example: A variation that's only for Distiller + Has a Son + Femme Clothing + White Furred + Chronic Pain. Too specific, too difficult to code.

Basically, if there was a time where you thought 'Oh, I thought X would've come up here?', you can suggest it. There are MANY options in UtDM's character creator and I don't catch all of them.

What About Last Spring Beta Reading ??

Unlike Devils Moon, I dont write Last Spring 100% linearly. I'm open to a single beta reader for Last Spring, but some scenes will be out order or unavailable. I'm currently looking to cut down a lot of Arryn's intro, fixing up Mormont's, and polishing Staedmon's. Beesbury is finished, Sarus and Harlaw need work.

Bug fixing is not necessary yet, and I won't be accepting new Character Creation options for Last Spring.

Under the Devil's Moon. Lackdaisy Interactive Fanfic made with Twine. A crime/gangster story set in 1920's St. Louis, in which everyone is a cute cat and the MC has a terrible habit of getting into trouble and also owes a debt to the sketchiest lawyer imaginable. Fully customizable Cat!MC with multiple backgrounds + personalities, ~8 official love interests and aro/ace options.

The Last Spring. ASOIAF Interactive Fanfic made with Twine. A court drama story set in Pre-Robert's Rebellion book canon, the MC is invited to King's Landing for Prince Rhaegar and Princess Elia's wedding ... and in true ASOIAF fashion, has to juggle avoiding death, scandal and an awful marriage. Fully customizable Female MC, multiple backgrounds + personalities, aro/ace option not in yet, only three love interests so far.

NOTE Last Spring is currently unavailable while I do a mass rewrite and switch it to CSS.

Ive been steadily plugging away at both interactive fictions this week; writing for Lackadaisy, and coding for Asoiaf. Here's a little update for those that are curious. The projects actually have names now!

The Last Spring is my ASOIAF interactive fanfiction. You can customize your Lady's appearance, her House, her personality, and pick between three love interests (so far): Ned Stark, Stannis Baratheon and Ashara Dayne. It's set a year before Robert's Rebellion, when Mad King Aerys was still in power.

This update will add House Mormont, as well as the Playful & Disarming personality and many text changes.

If I have the energy, I'd love to add the beginning of Chapter 2 to the update as well; aka the aftermath of your outburst with the King. And! Improve the character creator now that I'm (slightly) more knowledgable. Also, hmm, whose the next love interest... ~

You can play an outdated version here. Includes House Arryn and Beesbury, and the whole first chapter. 25k+ words last I recall ?? Yes she's messy but she's my baby.

Next! Under the Devil's Moon is the Lackadaisy one. I haven't mentioned anything about the plot, so let's do a fancy summary:

1925. You work for Cecil Flynn, a ruthless high-rolling lawyer and gang-adjacent businessman based in Chicago. While not your first choice of employment, you made a deal with this devil three years ago. Since then you've turned into an excellent investment. Chicago has been your home for three years, but now your employer has decided it's time for a change of scenery: St. Louis. A wildly popular speakeasy has fallen into Mr. Flynn's crosshairs. It's a shame what you may have to do, but that's just business, isn't it?

This was another challenge for me: A way more advanced character creator (30+ options) and getting to choose which specific characters you feel platonically or romantically for (you can be aromantic and/or ace too!). Rocky and Mordecai are my focus in love interests, but I'm absolutely planning for more. Devil's Moon has a very different story structure than Last Spring, one that's more forgiving of additional love interests and time skips (my betas picked up on this quick).

So, that's the 411! I'm just proud of my progress and wanted to share. Once I pretty up the html I'll post some pictures. It's been lots of fun to learn more and challenge myself :>

hi, i just wanted to send in this ask so people (who have ipads, iphones, etc.) will know what to do when they can’t access the interactive fic. Here are the things you need to do.

Download the interactive fic and put it in your google drive then put it in your files.

if you dont know how to save it in your files, press the three dotes on the right and press open in, then press save to files.

as you can see, when you press “open in” it shows you a variety of apps for you to open it in.

however don’t press anything until you have already downloaded Dropbox. (It’s needed for the html to work trust me).

once you have downloaded dropbox, open the app, sign in, and press the logo that has a line under an arrow pointing upwards. (It’s at the top near the left)

once you’ve pressed it you will now be met with a big box, at the top it says “upload photos” and next to it “upload files”.

press upload files, find the google drive app icon, press the interactive fic then press upload.

wait for it to upload then when it says it has already uploaded, find the file, press it.

and finally, you can play.

Yanno at first i was worried ned and stannis would be too similar in their scenes but theyre such opposing introverts LMAO. Stannis full of awkwardness and salt while Ned is the sweet shy one. Both would rather step on rusty nails then have to attend these nightly feasts and dances

Popping in for a super fast-update!

I won't be able to add House Mormont or the new personality to The Final Spring until this weekend - I'm SO sorry! This past week I've been a bit burnt out, plus looking after my niece, whose staying with us for the summer. I also realized just how messed up a lot of the code was, and I'm so so sorry for that, too. I've put out a big chunk of fixes and typo corrections, and I apologize for the jank. I don't want to make a nice, pretty post for it until I've pushed that update.

For Under the Devil's Moon, I've added some typo and code fixes, as well as a few additional character creator options: heterochromia, pink eyes for albino cats, partial deafness, and specific patterns for tabbies.

I almost made it to my goal of creating Devil's Moon 1.0 and getting Final Spring updated this month ... Oh well. Life + health got in the way, as it often does, and I still accomplished a lot. Im still annoyed tho sdfjsdjf!!!

Honestly you should write what's fun for you in the order you want (sorry I'm an enabler). Also I had to google Staedmon & Sarus because I hadn't heard of them, but I couldn't find anything for Sarus 😔. And would MC be the bastard in the Staedmon house background??

Sarus is an OC house! The only one as well. Theyre from the Riverlands; I didnt want to pick Tully and there's just ... not a lot on other Riverlands houses besides Blackwood or Frey haha. Blackwood almost made it, but I really like what I did with Sarus :3

Staedmon has almost nothing about it too but I love their sigil! So I couldn't resist. And yes Staedmon!MC is a legitimized bastard :3

Hi, I was just wondering if you have a separate blog for your asoiaf game The Last Spring? I was mostly interested in that (it's amazing btw!!!), but it seems like this blog is mainly for your other game, and it's tough to find stuff about The Last Spring since it's not in the pinned post & Tumblr search sucks.

Alas i feel i dont update it or talk about it enough to justify a whole new blog 😓 it'd be pretty empty! and im sorry for that. I cant juggle last spring + devil's moon + work and life stuff.

Hello again! Just popping in to share a little more of what I'm working on (also, say hi to all the new people! Hello!!) Thursday is crazy at work so it's the day that no writing gets done .... makes it a good time to post an update, though.

My goals for this Sunday:

Under the Devil's Moon- Rocky's scene being 50~75% complete. Compared to others, he's got a lot of variations depending on if you're platonic/romantic to him, your affection level, if you're a musician.... We know how this cat is, lol.

UtDM - The character creator is totally (finally) done. All I've got left for this is bugfixes. Making it pretty and aesthetic are for later x.x! Always room for improvements.

(If peeps are open to the idea, I'd like to make the character creator available early, just to share my excitement and get some feedback. The tons of customization options has led to Devil's Moon being a pain for my noob ass to edit... sigh. At least it's easy fixes bc they're rookie mistakes! And I love the extra options and goodies. It's just how I prefer to play and write.)

After That:

Once the Rocky scene and the closing scene of Devil's Moon is drafted, then it's just some bugfixing and testing before release! I'm so excited! I hate putting dates on things but it'll certainly be by mid to late June.

Then it's time for The Last Spring. All the content I wanted to add is already written, so it's simply coding that content, then bugfixes and more flavor text that references player customization choices a la Devil's Moon. I don't anticipate I'll have time to add intros to chapter 2 by the end of June, but I'd really love to start drafting them!! Chapter 2 itself is about 50% done, it's just... very out of order, lol. I write my favs first, what can I say? Also im so excited for the Ashara scene, and the introduction of some OCs! I think I did well.

It may seem like a lot but I think it's all doable by the end if June *knocks on wood*

I love writing interactive fiction and visual novels (that blog is here), moreso than writing typical fanfic posts, so I get a little obsessed, lol. The Last Spring is my A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones interactive fiction that this blog was initially made for (hence the asoiaf theme & icon lol), before Lackadaisy took it over. It doesn't have a pretty post like Devil's Moon bc I want to update it, but you can still play it here. Like UtDM, only it's first chapter is available.

If you're familiar with GoT/ASOIAF, it takes place a year or two before Robert's Rebellion. The Reader is a highborn lady who attends Prince Rhaegar and Princess Elia's wedding, and uncovers some suspicious stuff while in King's Landing - in addition to romance stuff.

It's way simpler than UtDM so I'd like to update it .... the character creator, adding additional Houses and love interests, a new personality, etc.
