wi hajoon. 36. cis man. he/him. ┊┊ YOON KYUNGSEOK, better known as agent LOVESHOT has been with cerberus corp as an eo since 2012 and is LEVEL I. BEING IN A HOSTAGE SITUATION has gifted them SUPERNATURAL WEAPONS PROFICIENCY ( ARCHERY ), though NEEDING TO CREATE HIS OWN WEAPON & ARROWS  has also been noted. when they aren’t protecting the tri-state area, they are fond of (SLUTTING IT OUT) WINNING and are never seen without A GOLDEN CHAIN NECKLACE. civilians think they are BRILLIANT & CAPABLE, but some of the other agents see them as EGOTISTICAL & CONDESCENDING. cerberus corp should consider the fact that their last mission status was A COMPLETE SUCCESS when giving out the next one.

002.  EXTRA ORDINARY
[ NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE. ]
( tw. gun violence )
as the son of a rich family, you have enemies that you've never met. you've never spoken to them, you've never crossed their paths. to you, they're just a stranger. and really, to them, so are you. the difference is that know who you are. they know you're the child of someone important. someone with money.
kyungseok thought it was a shooting. a fired employee coming back to the office with a few words and a handful of lead to leave behind. by the time he put it together, the barrel of the gun was jammed in his back and a mean voice told him to walk to the window. ( in his dreams, kyungseok is chased by voices: get your father on the phone. i don't want to hurt you but i will. no one move or i shoot him where he stands. I SAID NO ONE MOVE! )
three hours and kyungseok stood there. three hours and he watched the news vans roll out, armored cars and officers all holding aim, and a hostage negotiator shouting across the street. three hours of feeling the sweat dip down his back, of feeling so weak and helpless, of just standing there as this stranger waved the gun around. if only he could reach the lamp, if only he could grab something, if only he had a weapon! if only, if only, if only.
i don't want to die! i don't want to die! i don't want to die!
something was said, something ticked him off, some fuse snapped and the gun was shoved right there up under his chin and kyungseok swore he heard the click of the hammer against the barrel. he swore he heard the gunshot. he swore he died. he swore it. ( and he has the scar to prove it. )
but in his hand was an arrow made of ... something pink stabbed deep into the chest of the armed perpetrator.
he was still alive. still gloriously, utterly alive.
Tumblr media
[ POWER. ]
supernatural weapon proficiency ( archery ) + soul-bound weapon.
kyungseok can make a large bow out of his own 'spirit' energy. the bow is generally the size of a long bow and pink. although he could warp it to various sizes, he's mostly comfortable with the large bow. along with this, he can create arrows out of the same 'spirit' energy.
along with this, he has supernaturally accurate aiming capabilities. he can hit any target that he can see. hitting a dime, through a loop, behind his back — it doesn't matter. he'll do all three. so long as he can see it, he can hit it. please try him, he loves to show off.
Tumblr media
[ WEAKNESS. ]
kyungseok has to maintain calm in order to keep his bow stable and solid. if he begins to get agitated, freak out, or stresses then the bow will start to deteriorate. if he is too stressed, he can't make anything at all. he practices meditation and martial arts in order to increase his abilities to be calm and handle stress but there is only so far he can push the limit.
if he is too exhausted and unable to focus, the bow will crumble.
the arrows have a limited number. once he hits the limit that he can passively create then he has to start borrowing from himself. he can convert parts of himself into energy if he needs to. for example, a particularly difficult mission required him to sacrifice his hearing in order to create an arrow. he managed to heal somewhat but he only regained partial hearing.
the more energy he expends, the more he has to sacrifice.
Tumblr media
[ CERBERUS CORP. ]
after his powers manifested, his parents insisted he join cerberus corp. he put them off as long as he could as he learned and developed his power on his own. the actual reasoning behind kyungseok's joining is to try and repair their perception of their reputation concerning cerberus corp.
he shot up the ranks quickly. he doesn't seem particularly interested in their success, only his own.
he is really good in front of the camera and likes the attention. being a hero is truly what he was made to be. what more could he want? right?
Tumblr media
[ CODENAME. ]
loveshot. he gets the name loveshot because the bow is pink. it was a joke when he threw out the equally joke of a name, hotshot. loveshot, unfortunately, won out in the end. ironically, hotshot is used as a shipping name between himself and agent hades.
Tumblr media
003.  HEADCANONS.
he has a strained relationship with his brother, taejoon.
he has an interest in the arts. he enjoys sculpting and modeling for artists. it never went beyond a hobby but it gives him a good tactile sense in order to connect himself and calm his emotions. he also occasionally models for artists.
film buff, he loves movies. he had the small dream in the back of his mind to become an actor. it never went beyond a dream. he particularly loves fantasy, psychological thrillers, and crime films.
a shameless flirt, he's constantly seeing how long that button can hold those pants together.
he joined cerberus in 2012 but he wasn't made a level i agent until 2015. he is considered one of their best agents due to his track record of continued success.
he practices taekwondo as a means of control and meditation for a means of calm.
while some compare him to eros, the god of love — kyungseok feels he's more akin to apollo, the god of light and a supreme archer himself. as he puts it: "eros fucked around and got stabbed by his own arrow. as if i'd do anything that stupid."
Tumblr media
004. CONNECTIONS.
FIND HIS ESTABLISHED CONNECTIONS HERE.
fellow level i's — kyungseok is a team player ( most of the time. ) he would want to be, if not friends, at least fairly acquainted with the level i's. ( but bring the friction. all kinds. )
enemies! — kyungseok is ruthless out on the field and if you get in his way then he will put you in your place. he sees one option and that is success. there is no plan b, there is no 'at least we tried'. we win. at all cost.
friends! — he loves to party, he's a flirt, and he likes to enjoy himself. he's akin to a god, what's better than this? too many friends, stop being nice to him.

Let me tell you the story of one of our unfortunate residents who seems to be a POLITICAL ADVISOR on the island. Fate has assigned this individual guidance from THE MAGICIAN REVERSED card. But they needn’t worry, their secrets are safe with me.
DOB: may 28th 1989 DEFINING TRAITS: Manipulative, self-serving, secretive, level-headed, extroverted, ambitious RESEMBLES: actor wi hajoon
YOU ARE PRESENTED WITH A PRISTINE DECK OF TAROT CARDS. TAKE YOUR PICK.
Others would deem it foolish. Perpetually attuned to the perceptions of those around him, the man knew to hold his tongue. Yet one could not sweep years of teachings under the rug, discount the influence they had on shaping him into his adult self. His entire profession hinged upon analyzing those very implicit opinions, capitalizing on these innate beliefs of populations that could not be changed. It would idiotic to analyze all others but not identify such tendencies in oneself. Juhwan, though not a genius by objective measures, was no idiot either. Having grown up hearing stories of supernatural creatures, of beings greater than man, he could not renounce those beliefs completely. Rationality be damned! Yet he knew better than to tell others ( unless they revealed it first ) that he put credence in such folklore. Always a chameleon, his views were vague enough to be palatable for anyone’s taste. But in the privacy of his own thoughts, he could say whatever he wanted. He could believe whatever he wanted. He did not seek rationality because humans were not always rational creatures, no matter what philosophers or economists liked to assume. So to his irrational mind, the Magician Reversed seemed an ominous warning, urging him away from the path that he had chosen for himself. Rather than dread, the same card may have brought great joy had it merely been the other way. A non-believer would have paid it no mind. A believer would have heeded the warning. Yet like a man who hadn’t learned not to sail on two boats, he neither discounted it completely nor adhered completely. Because for Ha Juhwan, his ambition would reign supreme.
THE CARD FLUTTERS TO YOUR FEET. WHO WERE YOU BEFORE THIS STORY BEGAN?
Small towns have their fair share of mysteries and in Gwasuwon, the conception of Ha Juhwan was one such mystery. Word traveled fast. Ha Geumja was pregnant. Otherwise meant to be a joyous occasion, questions were the only thing surrounding this declaration. When did it happen? Was she keeping the child? Was she going to get married? And most importantly, who was the father? All questions with no answers as Geumja kept the secrets associated with paternity hidden from every soul, down to her own parents. The Ha family was of humble means, working honestly but meagerly. They were incapable of feeding another mouth, especially a child who had no identity. No father. His grandfather picked up another job, working as a security guard at night. His mother began to work as a seamstress from home, using the skills she had to tailor clothing. Together, they managed to scrap together enough to ensure that on May 28, 1989, they could welcome Ha Juhwan with financial security.
His childhood was uneventful. Every so often the circumstances surrounding his birth would be brought up by classmates or well-intentioned neighbors whose voices were too loud. For the most part, he learned to ignore what others said. Keep your head down, don’t pay it mind. His mother’s nonchalance rubbed off on him. Whether the questions upset him or not, his expression remained schooled. The same easy smile slowly warded off anyone who sought to target that weakness and soon, he managed to make everyone forget that he was fatherless with his smooth-talking. He had never been the strongest student, nor was he the weakest. Very securely in the middle of the pack, Juhwan developed a knack for dealing with people. He could understand them well and he learned to talk his way out of any and all trouble. The more he did so, the more he realized what a silver tongue and a charming demeanor could earn him. If he could get himself out of trouble, what was to say the same tactics couldn’t be used to get himself a better life.
And so his interest in politics was born. A profession dedicated to understanding people, their preferences, and convincing them to support one person over another. He became student council president year after year, easily winning what was essentially a popularity contest. Because Juhwan knew how to be popular. With mediocre grades and a track record of leadership, he was able to secure a spot in a college outside Gwasuwon, leaving behind his mother and grandparents for a chance to make it big. And in a way he did. Immediately upon joining college, he began to volunteer with political campaigns. Shrewd and calculated, he slowly but surely rose through the ranks with each subsequent experience. By the time he was graduating, he was working with political aspirants more than going to school. Of course his humble beginnings did not earn him much responsibility. Once again experienced the backlash that came from having an average background. He could not easily compete with students who came from elite institutions on paper alone. But with more hard work than them, he managed to make a name for himself in the rather small circle of advisors.
At 28, he was recognized for his talent and given the chance to work on the campaign for the mayor of Seoul as one of the chief strategists. Not all their methods were fully legal, and certainly not ethical. But if anyone knew how to talk their way out of problems, it was Juhwan. His talent proved invaluable when his candidate was caught up in a scandal. Given a pretty penny to make it go away, he watched as the man won the race. Juhwan received a golden parachute and without explanation, returned to Gwasuwon, bank account loaded with more money than his family had seen in ages. The stay was meant to be temporary. He had a career to return to, or so he was told. But the political scene quickly forgot him as did the candidate who had vowed to vouch for him upon his return. Initially he decided to settle for the simple life, his grandfather’s deteriorating health and mother’s growing age keeping him back in Gwasuwon. He began to work in city hall but it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. As the unusual events began on the island, his saw opportunity. His desire for something more than the ordinary was once again piqued and he began to contemplate working another political campaign. This time, his own.

i really spent last day last minute of 2021 binge watching squid game (been on my watch list since netflix post casts photoshoot but had to hold it back bc idk the hype scares me) and it made my january first so gloomy like heck why do i make myself suffer like this... i just want to ditch this from my cw but at what cost now...
Tumblr media
but talk about the show itself, the games reminds me of saw & hunger games and the disturbing aesthetic reminds me of midsommar (but not at midsommar level obviously this is the most disturbing movie EVER for me and i don't think any movie can beat it bc i swear im not gonna watch smtg like this again squid game is cute compared to midsommar).
altho it mix of three disturbing & thrilling movies surprisingly it didn't disturb me as much as those movies did (still it makes me gloomy tho but i feel like it's not entirely bc squid gameㅡit's just cherry on top of my overall life that already feels so gloomy like im so low spirited i don't even want to wish anyone 'happy' new year because i don't feel happy at all and squid game make it worse).
honestly the first few eps are so good but once the vips (white men, on top of that, urgh) comes out spouting nonsense im like???????? dude this is so hunger games but at least hunger games got strong background while sg's vips are just bunch of annoying rich men who idk?? looks like a loser who just suddenly appear comment random things trying hard to look classy but it makes me cringe... they did mention 'player from korea are the best' hinting this sickening game is i guess happening worldwide if not only in some countries but they did not explore more so the whole vips viasco did not make me gasps 'whoa' or make me sick to my stomach like I just want to laugh at them and hope they stop appearing on screen.
Tumblr media
i know though everything pretty much explained like there's nothing huge beside this game rich people just got bored and they gamble on people like they're horse parallel to our protag who also loves to gamble. but since they capable of make such huge organization with sickass facilities and super organized pink staffs i hope they give us more how this sick organization formed at the first place (more than a simple saying "rich people are bored that's why"). like how they first started it? how pink staffs & frontman chosen? how the facilities build?? how they got the player detailed data?? how staff like gongyoo chosen?? i think it'd be nice to include one episode to explain this or at least make highlight how was this formed when the gganbu granpa told giheon bout the game reason. I know it's squid game and it's focused on its game and how player struggling physically and mentally and how much they're willing to suffer & abandon their humanity for piggy cash but i think it wont hurt to explain the organization. i think i'd prefer this than that random organ smuggling squad arc. ((but considering its mass popularity and how it ends, i guess they keep this for season 2? where giheon will make this game stop down to its root?? bc heck he choose to go back and didnt fulfill his promise to his daughter once again... i hate this ending for this reason))
want to comment other thing which when frontman said himself police would likely just ignore and to be real wi hajoon character were also there initially not bc he's a police but bc he's looking for his lost brother like he did ignore giheon report in the first place thus make the front man right and make his chara (which i rooted for) seems pointless. and these two relationship also feels so weird bc idk when police bro got the call i got the vibe that the bro only gone missing for days, or two weeks at most? so i suspect he's one of the player but dang he's the front man AND HIS OLDER BRO (all along i thought he's looking for his broke younger bro caught up in college loans thus hes joining the game). also the data shows he's the winner from years ago MEANING he's already gone missing being a front man for years also?? why his police bro only looking for him recently?? am i missing something here bc i really i don't understand??? please tell me kindly bc i binge it in one go & i most prob miss the detail and im too lazy to rewatch to prove my point.
Tumblr media
scenes that truly touches me are the teamwork in tug-of-war game, the super famous "thanks for playing game with me" by jiyeong to saebyeok and when sangwoo betray ali. when jiyeong keep suggesting things to do together when they realize only one of them could get out there alive... also ali desperate call to sangwoo and his bitter realization when he finds out he tricked once again, by his boss and his 'hyung'. i hate sangwoo for that bc i really thought he's genuinely trying to seek a way for both of them to be alive, like i was rly believe his theory bc it aligns with what granpa said "gganbu" what yours or mine doesnt matter, like i was thinking there must be some tricks to win this together by both of them not get the 10 marbles bc what yours is also mine, gganbu, but no there's no trick like that and they're all just.... died.
Tumblr media
aside from all those rants, i really want to appreciate how they manage to insert traditional korean games into this horrifying gore series, like they're so successful to wide spread their culture across the world bc ironically now i see kids around my neighborhood play that green light red light & singing it in korean, like god i doubt the kids watch the show but due to it insane popularity and social media kids easily know and pick it and being the nowadays kids they follow through the trend. i both amazed and despise it bc wow they able to do it through a show and im sad how my local games are getting forgotten. i can't believe a gore show threaten my own culture. i make it sounds so dramatic but really though, it's happening here for real.
to summarize squid game just feels ok to me (maybe bc i spoiled too much) and i apologize i didnt talk much about the stark difference of social class this show trying to depict rather i want to highlight how there's something notably about how Koreans make something not particularly new (like i mention it's just something like three movies i mentioned earlier) but manage to make it so authentic thus able to set their own color & identity in this chaotic clash of cultures thanks to internet. i think it's something we should all learn; to strongly maintain our identity while keep up with the trend. korean is the prime example like see how much & how varies korean contents are consumed worldwide now.
Tumblr media
it's getting longer than i intended to write sorry for the personal rants and a mess order of commentary but if u read it till this point thank you i guess coming to my ted talk about this year most hot talked show!
