so anyways . Before i post stuff tomorrow im going to post my thoughts in advance. ff7r dlc spoilers ig

obsessed w how sonon was some guy that died for yuffie pain (#feminism #equality) i think that was funny. it still got to me though bc im a sucker for older brother /type figures (do i want u or do i want to be you) and also when adults r nice to children. but anyways besides that i do like his voice (and yuffies <:-) ) i liked his character for what it was in relation to yuffie, and less so himself bc they rly did try to cram in a backstory and stuff only to kill him off. still miles above clay terran and [redacted for those who know] but yknow like. short dlc. some guy.

SO.

it was interesting to see yuffie deal w someone who was simultaneously protective of her (as any adult should be) but also respected her capabilities. (also them bonding over the da chao beans as a familiar food to both of them :-) very familiar). like well. Yuffie's whole deal makes me😭 shes only 16 sob and wutai and midgar's deal...

back to their relationship (for the short time we've seen them (💔) i rly rly enjoyed yuffie rebuffing sonon's projecting onto her a bit (a lot? They made his sister look very similar to yuffie on purpose) bc yuffies like im not your sister. and maybe she couldve had more tact about it but shes yuffie but i think she absolutely was justified in getting put off by that. and getting back to the point abt yuffie not being taken seriously like there were those moments sonon was like *slightly exasperated rolling eyes* just as like. Perhaps also a justified reaction to yuffies antics LOL but he rly called her "boss" from the start and not in a joking matter ever as i recall. so like, yippee for yuffie.

i just think its rly interesting dynamic o)-< and i was not expecting a scene like that.. that would make me think so in depth abt it LOL i only know yuffies character from the original and now remake and havent even seen crisis core so i am missing some pieces of her story but even what i have the original really makes me o(-< yuffie... shes so important. i hope remake does .. good with wutai but im still sad abt the leviathan materia ur supposed to get in wutai from that tower for yuffies battle sidequest that its just given to u in remake wherever else and not tied to that as i was told -_- i did like seeing the random ppls dialogue include talk of wutai so i hope that goes somewhere ..

in conclusion i think it wasnt necessarily. i think introducing sonon and his tragic backstory just for him to die for yuffie pain was .like okay LOL but u know what. he did rly complement yuffie and they were fun. top some guys for sure (as in not a main character who is some guy but a some guy who is some guy like this is getting too long as it is maybe ill explain the some guy rating later).
