Look I just want there to be a moment in the fight against Gortash where durge is about to strike the final blow. Then their eyes meet Gortash's for the briefest of moments. His eyes aren't filled with hate or even anger. No, he just looks up at them with this melancholic longing in his last moments. This fleeting-look becomes more paralyzing then any spell or poison ever could be. Durge in that moment freezes. Maybe their dagger stays suspended right above his throat, refusing to move closer to its target. Maybe a spell fizzles out of durge's already bloodied hands. Their mind can't give an explanation for why they freeze. They know all the horrors he's unleashed on the city, on their friends. Yet, there they are, utterly frozen, from only a glance. Bonus points, if the moment durge can actually manage to move, they act on autopilot, taking a critical blow from Karlach that was intended to end the tyrannt.
