im gonna try not to shit on a si/gn of affe/ction while saying this... starting now. A thing i like about From Far Away is it's protagonist, noriko, a high school girl has really, really attractive qualities about her that make her a likable protagonist. She's very perceptive, empathetic, determined, earnest, helpful, and hopeful. just in the first volume, she gets fucking isekai'd into this fantasy world and after understandably getting upset, does this:

and she continues to look for ways to help out, through the entire volume. her actions also arent just a man's idea of what women should do (she doesnt suddenly fill the traditional role of girlfriend/wife/mother). her trusting izark is really nice and i think the story having her learn their language is really unique

and a lot of men when they try to make a "strong" female character have her just pick up a weapon and fight, but i like that noriko picks up and saves izark, shes not like charging into battle
