idc if you hate imagine dragons or think i’m cringe or whatever but listening to smoke + mirrors as a depressed catholic 13 year old was literally life changing for me like there was so much going on in my life that i had no idea how to name or deal with and i was constantly being told that i was just being dramatic or going through a phase by every single adult in my life and then BAM there’s a whole album that affirmed every single thing i was feeling. like that was the first time i truly connected to a piece of art like that and i will never ever hear a single bad word about that album

#just remember. if you’re here you’re a fob fan. you have no moral high ground #it is So important to me #like the themes of depression and guilt and religious trauma #it was the first time i’d ever heard those acknowledged by an adult and it was insane #like. i didn’t know music could be like that and i think that’s really when i fell in love with it #bc i love pop and i love music that’s just fun to listen and dance to but also like. music and art in general that deals with mental illness #and other hard shit is so important and can be so life changing #and like blah blah the connective power of music and whatever i’m tired my cousins getting married to a republican tomorrow (🤮) anyway.#im the leader of the imagine dragons defense squad #if u hate them get the fuck out
