There were no news of what happened to Skywalker, none of his death (or Kenobi’s) and hell, maybe Rebel-aligned people had some hope until Luke Skywalker showed up, proving Kenobi-and-Skywalker were dead, Maybe you bring up some crack theories, make jokes and then suddenly, there he is again, no longer Jedi General, but Imperial Consort. Sure sends a message.
