Online shopping is huge, improve your website now
I chose to look at the third Expert Session which looks at how social media, search engine optimization and content marketing help drive profit for a business. Firstly I think the expert made some good points about social media and how its main focus when created by a company is to drive traffic and to develop loyalty. Customers are given a great platform to share their experiences with the products/services and check out new ones the company are launching. When my favorite brand come out with a new shoes for example, I always see it on social media first because that is where most millennials spend their free time. According to Disruptive Advertising (2019), “64% of online shoppers say that a video on social media helped them decide on a product to buy.” Social media can be represented as owned media but it as simple as word of mouth by people sharing info about a company. This building online community and building traffic and having more loyal customers. Content marketing is capturing different audiences by using blogs. People are using longer keywords because they want the website to do the work for them by generating exactly what they want and that’s why companies should engage in blogs. Through word of mouth and other ways of content marketing, people give the website popularity and relevancy.
Search engine optimization is so important because most of the searches people perform are transaction searches meaning they do not know what exactly they want and where to get it from that’s which I mostly have a favorable decision from the website perspective where the viewer actually buys the product/service after seeing it. Another observation I have noticed is that the higher a web page is ranked, the more likely people are to go on that web page for whatever they are looking for. Another thought from the post is that the speaker talked about how Google’s algorithms are set up to run companies’ website and to search for key things to prove its legitimacy. Some of the algorithm Google will look at to determine if a website is legit are privacy terms, link out to other sites and its references and sources. For there not to be any red flags raised a the website must have these pointers, so this is a good break down of what to look for or even what goes into a great website that want to maneuver heavy traffic.
