man while i do like watching people draw and stuff its always like "how to make your sketchbook pretty" and similar titles and like. babe my current "sketchbook" are the multiple printer paper pages i used when trying to check if i managed to fix it that one time (i havent) and used pages for college that i dont have to submit, and also theres the whole thing of having to teach yourself to use your sketchbook however you want, that it doesnt have to be pretty it just has to be a place youre comfortable trying stuff out, that looking at videos like that will just make you have to work hard at it again

#my posts #i mean yeah its nice when your pages are pretty and its things youd like to show others #but also... its a sketchbook its not an extra portafolio #in fact i havent been using my sketchbook properly in a while bc it managed to feel intimidating. it happens to me relatively often dsiugh #so. half used printer paper and stuff isnt intimidating at all and i can just fuck it up there more comfortably #i even posted some of those doodles and stuff bc i realized i enjoyed them actually bc the no pressure is good for art!!#and i feel thinking your sketchbook has to be pretty or has to be good... adds a lot of pressure to it #this isnt my first 'a sketchbook isnt for masterpieces its for practice and fun' post either but i have to get it out lmao #id like to add that the issue is with the title of those videos mostly #the concept a bit too but sometimes they are like 'i do this as a low pressure activity' so they mean well sometimes but #still it is considered as a 'you have to make it good' like.... yeah
