ever since benni was young she was curious. with each thing learned they needed to know absolutely everything. as a toddler her favorite word was ' why '. as they continued to grow and ask, benni's parents would push her towards a book ( maybe as a distraction ). so she essentially lived at the library, always reading something new tucked behind the stacks. it truly all started with falling head over heels with the mystery genre.

the thrill of attempting to guess the ending before it was revealed, analyzing clues as if she herself were amongst the pages. around the age of thirteen she began to notice how this distant relative they'd apparently met once when they were four was somehow in every family story. from every generation, transcending every single one. every time benni asked her parents they'd dismiss her and say it wasn't the same person, just multiple generations of the same name. while that answer was plausible, there was an instinctual feeling that it somehow wasn't the case. regardless of how impossible that may be.

over the years benni excelled in school and planned a future around journalism, even writing for their high school paper for experience and to beef up her college applications. with all their efforts, benni ended up accepted into columbia university. absolute dream come true. benni enjoyed college life, thrived in classes and had a healthy enough social life. there was one party that changed her life.

she unfortunately got drunker than intended and ended up in the arms of a very hungry vampire. in all honesty they don't remember most of it, basically only that there were fangs in their neck and then there weren't. the culprit on the ground either unconscious or dead benni didn't know. what she found out felt even more mind boggling. her savior ? that damned impossible relative. the one who now revealed themself as a vampire. admitted that benni's mother had asked them to watch over her for a few months until she settled into school, knowing how unsafe the city could be.

and just then had vampire's been thrown into her universe. benni's relative explaining their story of transition and onward. how with each generation they only introduce themself to family members who have had previous experiences with vampires, always hovering around in attempts to protect their family. then it clicked that her mother must have had interactions with vampires if she knew this relative to send out. now that benni had been attacked they informed her how to defend themself. giving benni their very own discreet wooden stake. this relative then compelled benni to never look into or research anything supernatural besides general knowledge of vampires. they knew the more one knew, the more dangerous it was.

leaving benni behind with their contact information, the relative road off into the sunset and benni was left to go back to their normal life. due to the compulsion she sort of did slide back into their normal life. continuing with school and being aware of but not terrified or overly interested in vampires. after undergrad went grad school and an internship turned job after graduation. though there was something still brewing under the surface, like she needed to start somewhere new.

the move to new orleans certainly did the trick. by this point benni's been in the city for like three months and is becoming increasingly interested in the off feeling inside of her ( internal push to supernatural ) and her interest in vampires is beginning to grow.

Kaya has lived a relatively nice and normal life, aside from the fact that she's surrounded by supernatural creatures. As the eldest daughter, she's always been attached to her parents, Tyler and Gabriela. However, she so desperately wants them to be happy, that she often keeps her own issues to herself.

She's used to bottling up her feelings and never telling anyone the whole truth about herself. Of course, she's terrified of triggering her hellhound curse, but she doesn't want her parents to worry about her so that fear has stayed tucked close to her heart.

At 18, she moved out of her parents house and got a studio apartment in the art warehouse district to pursue her dreams of being a painter. She specializes in oil painting and particularly enjoys painting figures and landscapes. Although she has punched a canvas or two, due to her short-temper.

william is the eldest mikaelson son to klaus and caroline mikaelson.

he was more of a quiet child growing up. he didn't possess the charm his father has or the extroverted qualities his mother has. he tended to stick to himself or his family. even when he attended the boarding school, he didn't make too many friends. he always thought with all the siblings and cousins he had that he didn't really need to seek companionship from outsiders.

he triggered his werewolf curse at the tender age of fifteen. despite his usually cool and complacent demeanor, he is klaus' son after all, and that added with his werewolf gene made him susceptible to emotional outbursts when pushed past his limits. what started off as a verbal altercation escalated into a physical one when the other person decided to hit william. it was at that moment that he saw black and before he knew it, the other guy smacked his head against concrete and died almost instantly. fortunately for william, there weren't any witnesses around. it was a scary experience for him, even though he knew exactly what was happening based on the stories he had been told of werewolf genes being triggered.

his vampire gene was triggered just recently - only about six or so months ago. a late night walk with one of his very few friends, a witch he met at the boarding school, led to them being ambushed by a group of hungry vampires. there were too many for him to take on with his werewolf strength, and he quickly resorted to using magic to taking them out. when the vampires realized they were dealing with two witches, they panicked and decided to just snap their necks and leave to find another meal. william woke up a few hours later, in the midst of his transformation. he was devastated that he couldn't save his friend but, unable to control the urge, he fed on them to complete his transition.

📚 Backstory 📚

From a very young age Bexleigh has always expressed an interest in just about anything artsy that you could imagine and as she got older she leaned towards photography, painting, and piano mostly.

While her love for art was strong, Beleigh was always adamant that it was nothing but an outlet and joy in her life. Her real life has always been in the water and any chance she got she would find herself in a body of water somewhat be it a pool, lake, or the ocean. She had always been intrigued by the unknown and the creatures of the ocean that are rarely seen on a regular basis, envying the peace and freedom that they have.

She's just recently gotten out of a relationship after she discovered that her boyfriend had cheated on her. Between that and all of the fighting that had been going on between the pair, Bexleigh decided to call it off and has since closed herself off to the idea of love so good luck to anyone that finds themselves crushing on her cause changing her mind will not be easy.

Healthy mix of both her parents; like Caroline, she’s quick witted, self-aware, fiercely loyal, competitive, and can sometimes be aggressive and like Klaus, she’s confident, sarcastic, compassionate, sensitive, outspoken, adventurous, and really loves the arts (painting is her biggest pastime). She has always been a free-spirit, rebellious in nature and as such she was constantly getting herself in trouble as a kid, sneaking out and going to parties without her parents knowledge.

Before we meet Keelin, she was a normal girl (for a werewolf). Keelin Malraux was raised by older parents, Thomas (Tom) and Bethany (Betty). Her mother having already made the chose to step away from her pack and marry a human and live a 'normal' life with him before Keelin was born.

Keelin was 14 when she triggered her werewolf gene when she accidentally killed someone at a Halloween party. She handed another child a chocolate bar that had nuts in it and the person has an allergic reaction and died, triggering Keelin's werewolf gene. Her parents helped her through it, and she made peace with what had happened, deciding that she was going to become a doctor and try and help people.

Keelin had just finished high school when Lucien tracked down their family in 2009. Her grandmother managing to get a call to them before she was killed. Keelin and her parents and brother went into hiding, changing their last names to Taylor and disappearing from their old lives. Keelin lived like this, unwilling to connect with people knowing they wouldn't understand, until she met Freya in 2015.

Freya turned up, looking for Keelin's family, needing her werewolf venom to save her own family. And when Keelin's brother called to say Lucien's people/hunters tasked with ending the Malraux bloodline had found him - Freya came with Keelin and they saved her brother from being killed. (Just going to headcanon that in the canon version Keelin lost her brother and parents because she wouldn't met Freya/Hayley for another few years). After this; Keelin agreed to help Freya in return and woke up the rest of the Mikaelsons and saved Klaus.

The two ended up hitting it off and started dating shortly after, staying where Keelin lived in Austin, Texas while Keelin was still in med school. The two got married before they relocated to New Orleans, so that Freya could open the Mikaelson Boarding School in 2020.

In New Orleans Keelin and Freya lived in a pent house apartment in the central district neighbourhood (see here) that they brought and had always planned to move out of when their family grew, but ended up raising their kids there. They also relocated Keelin's parents to New Orleans and they lived in the same building as Freya and Keelin (who passed away recently from old age). Freya and Keelin adopted/their own biological children using IVF with the help of Keelin's brother as a donor (some suggest names can be found here). Keelin worked at the New Orleans hospital and on the side at the Mikaelson Boarding School, till 10 years ago (in 2030 after Freya and Keelin had been together for 15 years) when someone came into the hospital with a knife and Keelin was killed when on shift, leaving her family alone.

Keelin will be just back from the dead and looking to work out her life.

despite his feelings for the girl, he felt scared at the prospect of being a young father and disappeared for a month. eventually coming back (can be plotted that someone found him and brought him back)

as he got used to the thought of becoming a father, a car accident caused his girlfriend to go into premature labour. He spent an hour with his daughter before she died from an undetected injury.

his girlfriend was in surgery and despite everything she didn't survive and he had lost his love and child in the space of 2 hours at the age of 17.

he started to spiral out of control

after a few years of wreckless behviours and going to the school for giften in new orleans, he started to be brought on the right path again by kaya lockwood and soon the pair were together.

as things got more serious, grayson grew distant from kaya and eventually the pair split up and this caused tension between the pair.

now the anniversary of his child death is coming up he is spiralling again with hardly anyone around his to ground him.

Jay was born (well he doesn't know) all he knows was that he ended up in a baby box at the fire station. With nothing but a blanket wrapped around him with the letter 'J' on it. He went from foster home to foster home for the early years of his life. Never having a home or having a place that he was wanted.

He was 8 years old when he was sent to yet another foster home, and this time he ended up in New Orleans. It was only meant to be for a week before he was sent off somewhere else, but that was when he met them, Josh and Aiden, at a crescent party.

It wasn't so much that he spoke to them but that they learnt about him and next thing he knew, the couple said they would foster him next. He lived with them for 3 years as their foster child, expecting to be moved on at anytime, even though they said they wanted to keep him.

He was sure it was going to happen when they started talking about kids and adopted another child (blossom) that he knew he was about to be kicked out; instead they sat him down and said they wanted to adopt him. Completely. For him to be their son. Forever. Paperwork was completed and not only did he get a home that day, but he got a last name and a new sister.

From there, Jay was supported to follow his dream to be a doctor with the support from his dads; he raised that dream was possible for the first time in his life.

During his studies to become a doctor, he met Lizzie Saltzman and she changed his life, getting him out into the world and slowly he fell for her, not expecting her to return his feelings. Until one day, she did. The two were an official couple for 2 old years as the merge got closer and closer. Jay proposed on their 2 year anniversary , mostly because he loved her, a little because he wanted her to fight for their future and not just give up; but mostly because if the worst did happen at least he knew he had been engaged to the best person he knew.

Then she died, 3 years ago, Jay doesn't say it, but in the back of his mind, he calls it what it was... murder. Josie killed her. And his life was changed completely by that night.

Mia's life had a complicated start. She was born to a very young girl, not ready to be a mother. A girl that denied she was even pregnant for a very long time until she turned up at Whitmore College Hospital in labor. That was the first time Elena laid eyes on her future daughter, when this young girl gave birth and said that she couldn't be a mother, that she wanted to give the baby up for adoption.

For Elena and Damon it felt like fate, as they had been in the hospital that day giving birth to their own daughter. And they decided to adopt Mia, naming her something special; after Elena's mother and Damon's lost friend; Miranda Rose Salvatore. She wasn't a perfect baby, almost like she knew that someone already had given up on her. But Damon and Elena loved her and she soon grew up happy and health.

At 9 years old, Mia's childhood love for the piano was spotted by professionals. By 14 she was offered a scholarship to a music school in Washington and she moved away from her family to attend there.

becoming a mother to josie and lizzie fundamentally changed caroline's life. after turning into a vampire she had been battling with the fact that motherhood was not in her future. not only was that not the case, her family would soon to grow bigger than she'd imagined when it had been just she and the girls. reconnecting with klaus and adding to her family was everything. as william, nikolas, and faith were born, caroline tried to balance the work she valued very much at the school, being a devoted wife and mother, and looking for some sort of loophole for the merge.

losing lizzie left caroline in shatters. guilt of not being able to save both her children from something so horrible weighed deeply within her. still she had to stay strong for the rest of her family. maybe she got a little overbearing after. checking in on her children a little more than normal, worry wormed into her heart and fear of losing another child ached. she couldn't help it.

as time passed caroline tried to heal, to rid herself of the pain in hopes to try and honor the living. her family helped, working helped, as long as she didn't lock herself away she could carry on, and she did. with her children grown and flying the nest caroline is tries not to overwhelm herself with work and her worries. making time for things that make her happy. she's going to live forever, life will throw things her way eventually and like always she'll fight like hell.

In her earlier years, Elena suffered from a lot of stress and trauma. Dying, become a vampire, becoming human again, falling in love with Stefan and then Damon, it was truly a whirlwind. In 2016, Damon and Elena became human together and settled down. Elena finished her medical degree at Whitmore College, and then the pair moved to a small town to live quietly.

They would have two kids, of which Elena cherished deeply. She was there to protect them from anything that could go wrong. Whenever something happened that she couldn't protect them from, Elena was certain it was her fault.

Though it took some convincing, Elena and Damon decided to move to New Orleans in order to spend more time with their friends and family, something that Elena desperately needed.

Now, she's taken on a position in The Faction as the human representative, hopeful that she can protect her family and other humans in town from harm by rogue supernatural creatures. She also just started working again, this time at a hospital as an trauma surgeon.

Claire was born in Salem over two hundred years ago. While this was after the witch trials there was still a community of supernatural beings living in Salem under the radar and by the time Claire was twenty she'd crossed paths with a man who would change her life forever. The Klaus we know and love but honestly got much better luck. He got the girl (Caroline) and he never got separated from his daughter, Hope. And he didn't die! Yay for him. Klaus was the prisoner of Marcel for a very small time (like a few months if that) before his family freed him. At which point he reconnected with Caroline and they started their love affair (without the travelling given they both had kids). They got married and starting a family. Klaus after what happened with Lucien is hellbent on being the best father he could be and with Caroline at his side, he chilled out ALOT. Like Caroline says no dead bodies in the house, there are no dead bodies in the house. Caroline said get a job and stop stalking the kids to school and watching them from over the fence, so Klaus got a job.

Klaus got into his painting and art completely. Klaus gave the Compound to Caroline, Freya and Alaric to open the Mikaelson Boarding School. He and Caroline brought a new house (find here) in the French Quarter where they raised their kids along side Alaric and Hayley (suggestions for names for the kids can be found here).

He teachers an upper level art class at the Mikaelson Boarding School and also at the local college. While the lower floor of the home they have, art studio where Klaus shows of art work (some of his, some of his families and some of students) which can be brought. And as much as he likes to be involved in things, took a he step back from 'ruling' New Orleans because he doesn't really know how to do that in a peaceful time and he doesn't want any risks to befall his kids. However he still part of the faction just in case. He keeps an eye out on other wolves (his bio father's pack most of all), and support Hayley with keeping the pack happy with whatever they are doing.

Most recently with their kids grown, Klaus and Caroline have been on a year long trip around the world, Klaus wanting to show Caroline all the places he loves. They have just stopped home to catch up on some things before they go the next location.
