I love Test Tube and her cute, nerdy scientist character who tries to be serious but ends up being dragged into random stuff thanks to usually Fan or Lightbulb, and how Ep. 14 showed her bada*s side and how much she was willing to rescue one of her best friends, even if they didn't end on a happy note last time, (which probably makes it sadder,) and to rescue the egg they were raising, but I HATE how the fandom usually either portrays her as a cold, sadistic scientist who doesn't give a sh*t about her friends, including FAN, or as this girlboss baddie bada*s scientist who is good at everything and is on her way to rescue her UwU weak femboy malewife Fan from everything (literally f*cking Millie and Moxxie) and did I mention she has no flaws she is just so cool? Like, can we BALANCE her dorky side and her bada*s side and keep the evil side to Wattpad AUs? Let her be a girlboss AND girlfailure!

(Also, since Test Tube had her bada*s moments, can Fan have some too? Let my dorky fanboy stand up for himself and tell someone off! Maybe that moment where he rejected Steve Cobs in Theft and Battery and how he immediately leapt in to protect the egg counted, but I wanna see more, like, he just has enough and throws hands at someone over, like, Bot, or something, like, Mama Bear style, PLEASE do not let him become another MOXXIE!)

So, I'm thinking of trying Inanimate Experiments, cause I heard it's "better" than most evil Test Tube AUs and it looks interesting, even though it's yet again another "tEsT tUbE gOeS cRaZy AnD eXpErImEnTs On OtHeRs" fic.

But I want to know what you guys think of it and the pros/upsides and cons/flaws of it, cause I noticed some flaws while skimming through images of it. One of it being how Paper reacts to OJ after he's finally freed from the lab. Paper, your BF has been missing for God knows how long and you've been worrying about and trying to find, and the moment you reunite with him and see him all beaten and bruised, shattered, no juice left in him, you say "I'm glad you're back! Oh-😨you look rough!😇🤭" the first part not being bad and sweet and understandable but the SECOND HALF-

Also, when Paintbrush runs off crying, Lightbulb is more worried about having scars than her friend having a breakdown and goes "Yay!😄" when she finds out she doesn't have scars.

the s1 remaster negativity is killing me 😭 now listen i am of the idea that s1 is beautiful as she is and that it shouldn't be erased (which it isnt being erased!) but its not unreasonable or unnecessary for AE to want to reboot it.

i think they're reasonably a little embarrassed by it and not because its poorly animated or they found walmart funny at 13 years old or the fact that it has angry birds and annoying orange and everything a teenager laughed at in the early 2010s. its because of the blatantly ableist tropes they (unknowingly at the time) implemented and all those really weird racist jokes they were finally able to cut out via youtube editor because they've grown and changed as people. rebooting s1 gives them the chance to revisit all that as well as other things (the TERRIBLE sound mixing, lightbulbs sudden transgenderification, the way brian talks about it being canon in this stream really makes me think they're gonna revisit that)

i do think there's a reasonable chance the crustiness of s1 will remain if its a reBOOT and not an HD remaster. while they did go back an redo all the thumbnails years ago, theres a newly animated section during karma waits (the halloween episode section) resembling the old style (all of which was done by adam himself!) and i really don't think they'll backtrack on the old style since its been implemented in various other instances. and in terms of the humor and shit i would hope they wont change much? but all in all they do keep the meta-narrative of ii in mind (brian has talked about iii also being a sort of escape for the cast) and i don't think they'll change too much going forward in that case.

overall its not invalid to feel. Weird. but i dont think assuming the worst possible scenario is for the best!! be aware that we literally haven't seen anything yet!!! yknow. stay tuned and all that shit
