#maharajaranjitsingh #sheripunjab 🙏🏻 Maharaja Ranjeet Singh,Sher-i-Punjab, 13 November 1780 – 27 June 1839, united the Sikh misls & took over local kingdoms to create the Sikh Empire. 1796,Afghan Shah Zaman,of Ahmad Shah Abdali dynasty,crossed Indus for 3rd time in attempt to annex Panjab,Ranjeet then 17,defeated his general Shahanchi Khan & 1200 soldiers. In 1798,Afghan ruler sent in another army,Ranjit let them enter Lahore,encircled them,blocked off all food and supplies, burnt all crops and food sources that could have supported them,the Afghan army retreated back to Afghanistan. 1st of Baisakh,April 12,1801,Sahib Singh Bedi,direct descendent of Guru Nanak,daubed Ranjit Singh's forehead with saffron paste & proclaimed him the "Maharaja of Punjab". The geographical reach of Ranjit Singh 's Empire included all lands north of Sutlej river,& south of high valleys in the northwestern Himalayas.The major towns in the Empire included Srinagar, Attock,Peshawar,Bannu,Rawalpindi, Jammu,Gujrat,Sialkot,Kangra, Amritsar,Lahore & Multan. His reign introduced reforms, modernization, investment into infrastructure, and general prosperity. After centuries of barbarian tyranny,Maharaja RanjitSingh in 1819 gave Kashmir a healing touch.Cow slaughter was banned, temples renovated,wrongs rectified. Fakir Azizuddin was asked by an officer of Governor Gen in which eye was Ranjit blind, said Fakir,"The splendour of his face is such that I've never been able to look close enough to discover" Ranjit Singh was a superb horse man,since horses were the ruling passion of his life,he often spent 10 hrs of the day in the saddle.He wore the plainest clothes,plain shite muslin in summers & saffron cashmere in winters.Simple in habits,utterly outspoken,warm & generous. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language period drama film[3] based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi.[9] It was directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi from a screenplay by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and produced by Zee Studios, Kamal Jain, and Nishant Pitti. The film stars Ranaut in the title role.[10]
A special screening of the film was organised by Zee Entertainment for Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Cultural Centre on 18 January in presence of Kangana Ranaut and her team before release of the film on 25 January 2019.[11] After watching the film the President felicitated the artists and crew of the film.[12]
The film was released on 3700 screens in 50 countries worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on 25 January 2019.[13] The film performed well internationally and in India in its theatrical run. Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi had highest first day collection for any female oriented film. It also became highest grossing Indian film in Japan.[14][15] The film opened to positive critical response.[16] The film was selected for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.[17]
