As I woke up this morning, from my alarm, recognizing my awareness again, I received an email that made me smile. I’d like to share this victory with y’all.

This indigenous people’s day, let’s try and not forget the pain and suffering that colonizers have brought upon native people from ANYWHERE. Yes, this is a more USA celebration. But that doesn’t mean that we can forget the genocides and slaughter and erasure of natives that other nations have contributed to. We should be learning all sides of the issues of colonization, how it brought us our homes but essentially was stealing them. Hell, I’m in the US Midwest, literally all of the land I walk on is stolen. It’s messy, muddy and very sad history, but it is history nonetheless, and should be taught nonetheless.

And maybe, unlike SOME people (staff), we can post about it and remind each other about it and educate each other. Because apparently fat bears are more important that the literal erasure of a minority’s history.

(And yes I know not every tumblr user is from the US but they had a today on tumblr post for “extremely loud sound Wednesday” and that was a US only thing, so idfk why they can’t care enough to even make a LITTLE blurb about today which is clearly more important than any of their polls or dumb little events? Whatever I guess)
