Why the fuck Rammstein isn't in a rock n roll hall of fame yet????!!! They 10000% deserve it
Hi 👋
I've researched a bit about the process of artists getting into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and there's actually only one proper rule to get into the performance category: "an artist has to have had their first record 25 years ago". Furthermore, the election process is also a bit complicated: "The formal selection of Performers begins with an extensive panel of journalists, historians, previous inductees, noted musicians, industry heads, etc. In turn, those nominated are sent to a committee of more than 800 people around the world (journalists, historians, music industry management, all previous inductees, musicians, etc.) who vote. Those receiving the highest number of votes and more than 50% of the votes cast are inducted into the Hall. Usually, this means five to seven new performing members each year. So you can see the road to being inducted is an arduous one and for the most part, removed from the realm of influences or politics." (source)
Rammstein are eligible to get into the Hall of Fame since 2021, so we maybe someday will witness them getting inducted into it - but I don't really believe the band would care about being part of such an institution. They always stood for evading norms and expectations, doing their own thing in their own way without caring much what others would think, so I have the feeling that something like a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would be maybe be nice, but nothing the band would be overly proud of/be interested in.

How Do People Get Into the Country Music Hall of Fame?
How Do People Get Into the Country Music Hall of Fame? https://cecilraybaker.com/how-do-people-get-into-the-country-music-hall-of-fame-cecil-ray-baker/ The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum stands as a beacon of honor and recognition for those who have made significant contributions to the country music genre. Induction into this prestigious institution is a crowning achievement for any artist, songwriter, or industry professional. But how exactly do people earn this esteemed honor? Established in 1961 by the Country Music Association (CMA), the Country Music Hall of Fame seeks to honor those who have made a lasting impact on the genre through their music, performances, and contributions to the industry. Induction into the Hall of Fame is considered one of the highest honors in country music, reserved for the genre’s most influential and revered figures. So, how does one earn a coveted spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame? The process begins with nominations, which are submitted by members of the Country Music Association and the Country Music Hall of Fame Foundation. These nominations are carefully reviewed and considered by a select committee of industry professionals, historians, and music experts. Once the nominations have been reviewed, the committee votes to determine the finalists for induction. These finalists are then presented to the Hall of Fame’s board of directors for final approval. Inductees are typically announced each year during the CMA Awards, one of the most significant events in country music. But what criteria are used to determine who gets inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame? While there is no strict set of guidelines, certain factors are taken into consideration during the selection process. These factors include the artist’s impact on the genre, the influence of their music and recordings, their contributions to country music history, and their overall legacy within the industry. Inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame fall into three categories: performers, songwriters, and industry professionals. Performers are typically artists who have achieved significant success and recognition through their recordings, live performances, and contributions to the genre. Songwriters are honored for their exceptional songwriting skills and the impact of their compositions on country music. Industry professionals may include producers, record label executives, and other behind-the-scenes figures who have played a significant role in shaping the course of country music history. Once inducted, members of the Country Music Hall of Fame are celebrated and honored through various means, including exhibits at the Hall of Fame and Museum, special events and ceremonies, and recognition within the country music community. Their contributions to the genre are immortalized for future generations to appreciate and admire. Induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame is a prestigious honor reserved for those who have made a lasting impact on the country music genre. Through their music, performances, and contributions to the industry, inductees have left an indelible mark on country music history, ensuring their place in the annals of music greatness for generations to come. via Cecil Ray Baker | Music https://cecilraybaker.com May 12, 2024 at 05:07AM

Rock Hall of Fame Class of 2023: Breaking Down the Inductees’ Chart Feats
Trevor Anderson

On Nov. 3, 11 musical acts, one hit-generating songwriter and Don Cornelius, the creator-host — from 1971 to 1993 — of groundbreaking syndicated Black music showcase Soul Train, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
This year’s list of honorees includes a crop of legendary performers: British art-pop legend Kate Bush, hip-hop trailblazer Missy Elliott, late megastar George Michael, pop-rock hitmaker Sheryl Crow, outlaw country icon Willie Nelson, rap-rock firebreathers Rage Against the Machine and smooth soul group The Spinners.
Elsewhere, two individuals are set to be inducted under the “musical influence” category, including “Father of Hip-Hop” DJ Kool Herc and guitar pioneer Link Wray; while the “musical excellence award” will be given to three others: funk idol Chaka Khan, veteran studio musician Al Kooper and longtime Elton John lyricist Bernie Taupin.
Notably, four of the seven performers are being inducted on their first nomination: Crow, Elliott, Michael and Nelson. Among those, Elliott was the only artist eligible for the first time in 2023.
While the achievements of many of the above-named inductees — performers like Elliott, Michael, Crow, Nelson, Rage and Khan — are well-known to many, others on the list require more of an introduction. Below, we’ve compiled quick facts on each of the honorees, from the trails they’ve blazed in the industry to the hit songs that shot them to fame and fortune.
Below, a look at their musical milestones and chart achievements.
Tumblr media
Kate BushPhoto : TV Times/Getty Images
In 2022, Bush scored her greatest Billboard Hot 100 success when “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” reached No. 3, spurred by its synch in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things. The song reached No. 30 during its original 1985 run.
Sheryl CrowPhoto : Karjean Levine/Getty Images
Crow boasts seven No. 1s on the Triple A Airplay chart, the most among women in the list’s history. She has also landed nine top 10 albums on the Billboard 200.
Missy ElliottPhoto : James Keivom/NY Daily News Archive/Getty Images
Elliott became the first female rapper with three No. 1s on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, with Supa Dupa Fly (1997), Da Real World (1999) and Miss E… So Addictive (2001).
DJ Kool HercPhoto : Steven Ferdman/Getty Images
Fifty years after Herc’s historic party in the Bronx, where he set hip-hop in motion, the genre has gone global and reshaped popular music. According to Luminate, R&B/hip-hop accounted for nearly 27% of all U.S. music consumption in 2022 — more than any other genre.
Chaka KhanPhoto : Leonard M. DeLessio/Corbis/Getty Images
Between Khan’s work with funk bank Rufus and her solo material, the legendary vocalist scored 58 hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart between 1973 and 2008. From her early days, she proved a consistent commercial force, landing a top 10 on the chart each year from 1973 to 1984.
Al KooperPhoto : Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images
The musician who contributed organ to “Like a Rolling Stone” (1965) and tambourine on “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” (1966), Bob Dylan’s two highest-charting Hot 100 songs — both reached No. 2 — has also performed with such rock legends as The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and B.B. King.
George MichaelPhoto : Michael Putland/Getty Images
The late U.K. artist charted seven No. 1s on the Hot 100 as a solo artist and three as part of the duo Wham! Michael’s most recent visit to the chart was in 2022, when Wham!’s classic “Last Christmas” hit the top five for the first time, 38 years after its release.
Willie NelsonPhoto : Courtesy Everett Collection
In July 2020, 87-year-old Nelson became the first artist to score top 10s in every decade — seven in all — on the Top Country Albums chart since its launch in January 1964. His 70th solo album, 2020’s First Rose of Spring, was his 53rd top 10 on the chart.
9
Rage Against the Machine
Rage Against The MachinePhoto : Niels van Iperen/Getty Images
Of eight total appearances on Alternative Airplay, Rage Against the Machine has placed three songs in the top 10 — all in 2000 — with “Guerrilla Radio” peaking the highest at No. 6.
The SpinnersPhoto : Echoes/Redferns
The Michigan R&B hit-makers boast a 34-year span of hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songschart, from their 1961 debut, “That’s What Girls Are Made For,” to a featured credit on Rappin 4-Tay’s “I’ll Be Around” in 1995. In that time, they racked up 19 top 10 hits, including six No. 1s.
Bernie TaupinPhoto : Fin Costello/Redferns
Taupin has co-written eight of Elton John’s Hot 100 No. 1s and 27 of his top 10s, as well as 16 of the Rocket Man’s Adult Contemporary No. 1s, which helped cement John’s standing as the chart’s all-time top artist.
Link WrayPhoto : Gie Knaeps/Getty Images
One of rock music’s guitar innovators, particularly with the 1958 instrumental “Rumble,” Wray reached the Hot 100 three times, led by the No. 23 peak of “Raw-Hide” in 1959.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2024 Inductees: Cher, Jimmy Buffett, Mary J. Blige, Dave Matthews, Peter Frampton, Foreigner and More
Chris WillmanApr 21, 2024 5:40pm PT
Tumblr media
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has revealed the names of 16 artists or other musical figures who will be inducted in 2024. It’s a diverse list that stretches from R&B/rock pioneer Big Mama Thornton to pop superstars Cher and Dionne Warwick, and from ’70s-rooted rockers like Peter Frampton, Foreigner and Ozzy Osbourne to ’90s icons the Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige and A Tribe Called Quest.
Surprisingly, Jimmy Buffett pops up among the inductees — unexpected because not only was the late singer/songwriter not on the ballot this year, but he had never even been nominated before. But the Rock Hall’s committee was clearly in a sentimental mood after his death seven months ago, and took the liberty of ushering Buffett in via a separate, non-voted category, for “musical excellence.”
That honorary category is also the side door through which the committee installed two other performers who had been nominated before without ever being selected by voters: Warwick and MC5. The latter group had been nominated six times without ever being voted in (only Chic had been nominated more times and remained shut out); with the “musical excellence” classification, the Rock Hall finally took matters into its own hands in installing the influential 1960s trio.
Popular on Variety
For the first time, the inductees were announced as part of an “American Idol” broadcast, during a Sunday night episode themed around the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Following is the complete list of inductees for 2024:
Performer Category:
Mary J. Blige
Cher
Dave Matthews Band
Foreigner
Peter Frampton
Kool & The Gang
Ozzy Osbourne
A Tribe Called Quest
Musical Influence Award:
Alexis Korner
John Mayall
Big Mama Thornton
Musical Excellence Award:
Jimmy Buffett
MC5
Dionne Warwick
Norman Whitfield
Ahmet Ertegun Award:
The eight “performer” inductees are the ones selected by a ballot sent out to the Hall’s voters after the 15 nominees were announced on Feb. 10.
That leaves seven nominees from this year who will have to wait for another crack at getting in: Mariah Carey, Jane’s Addiction, Sade, Sinead O’Connor, Oasis, Lenny Kravitz and the duo Eric B. and Rakim.
One question mark now is how Cher will react to her induction. Just last December, in an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she aid, “You know what, I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars … I’m never going to change my mind. They can just go you-know-what themselves.” At that point, though, she had never received so much as a nomination, so the odds favor her changing her tune on that vow, now that she got voted in her first time actually appearing on the ballot.
Five out of the eight voted in this year were first-time nominees: Osbourne, Cher, Frampton, Foreigner and Kool & the Gang.
A Tribe Called Quest got in on the hip-hop collective’s third time on the ballot (and their third year in a row being nominated). Blige and Matthews both got in on their second try (she was previously up for it in 2021; DMB had a prior nod in 2020).
Frampton, for his part, beyond the merits of having had one of the biggest albums of all time, may be a sentimental favorite this year, due to his being in the acknowledged twilight of his musical career. He has been out on a farewell tour off and on since 2019, following his diagnosis with the debilitating disease inclusion body myositis in 2015. The rocker just wrapped up the last round of dates he had scheduled, although he has not said there won’t be more.
It does not come as much surprise that Oasis did not make it in, after the defunct group’s singer, Liam Gallagher, went out of his way to disparage the Hall as an institution after the nomination (perhaps preemptively, given that no one considered the band an automatic first-ballot shoo-in). More surprising, to some, may be the fact that O’Connor did not make the voters’ cut, even after a wave of newfound appreciation for her following her death last July.
Osbourne becomes a second-time inductee this year; his group Black Sabbath was voted in all the way back in 2006. Sometimes there is contention over whether singers who are already in the Hall of Fame, as group members, really need to be pushed to the front of the line as solo artists, too, ahead of other contenders. In any case, voters decided that Osborne’s post-Sabbath career established him as one of rock’s major icons, even apart from his initial round of influence and success as a frontman.
De Passe is getting her flowers for a career that included a long stint as one of the major players at Motown, developing the Jackson 5 into superstars and signing the Commodores, among other triumphs, before becoming a film and TV executive. She was profiled by Varietyabout her long and wide-ranging career in 2022.
Motown is also being celebrated with the induction of Whitfield, a songwriter and producer whose astonishing catalog of hits in the ’60s and ’70s included “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” “Just My Imagination,” “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” “War,” “Ball of Confusion,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “(I Know) I’m Losing You,” “I Wish It Would Rain,” “I Can’t Get Next to You” and “Car Wash.” He died in 2008.
Coming on under the “musical influences” umbrella, Alexis Korner may be the name among this year’s inductees that is least known to contemporary music fans. He was a major player in the British blues scene of the 1960s and became a popular broadcaster as well; he died in 1984 at age 55. With John Mayall also being selected by the committee for the same honor, it’s an unexpected banner year for British blues-rockers.
