I genuinely thought it was canon that Sylvia cheated on Dal with Tim. I genuinely believed it. Now, im sitting here, at 7:44 in the morning, asking myself "is it actually canon?"

Boy howdy do I have a lot to say about them-

Darry

He would go on living for the most part, not because he doesn’t care about the fact that you’re gone, but he just can’t afford to shut down. if he does, he risks losing Soda and Pony too.

He’d bring flowers to your grave once a week, on Wednesdays (don’t ask why i just decided this). Your favourite flowers. When the first bunch he put down dies, he gets someone he knows, (maybe Ponyboy, i feel like he’d dig arts and crafts) to either press the flowers or dry them so he always has them, even if they bring back painful memories.

To add to the whole getting flowers thing, he’d always take one out of each bunch, just like he did before your death to make sure that he replaces them as soon as they wilt.

He most likely got the call about your passing and had to tell the guys. He tried to stay calm while telling them but he broke down before he could finish.

Ponyboy

This hurts just to think about! He, unlike Darry would shut down completely. He’d be failing class, wouldn’t get out of bed and would hardly eat. If we count it as after Johnny and Dally die, that would be 3 people he cared about that died (other than his parents)

If you two watched the sunset together often i feel like he’d never watch it again. it would be too painful for him.

Whenever he gets into an argument with Darry he runs out of the house and straight to your grave. He’d sit there and vent to you and eventually fall asleep there. the guys probably put a bench by your grave so he’d sleep there.

I think that after he was functional again, he’d get very cold and bitter, kinda like Dally. He’d get into fights all the time and would start acting out. He just doesn’t know how to cope with you gone..

Sodapop

Sodapop would go to your grave everyday after work and just talk to you about his day. he would fill you in on everything going on with the guys, any rumbles or fights with socs, stuff like that.

I honestly think that if Soda was serious about your relationship he would have given you a promise ring. I think that even after you were gone he would keep wearing it and maybe even put yours on a chain and wear that under his t-shirt, right next to his heart.

If it was a violent death? He would completely stop fighting, he would only see it as a constant reminder of what happened to you, he would realise that it really didn’t do any good.

He wouldn’t fully shut down but i think he would stop hanging out with the guys so much and would get very quiet. He wouldn’t be his laughing, wild self anymore. He knows that isn’t what you would’ve wanted but how could he keep on joking when you were gone? how could he ignore it?

Dally

Dally would go on hating and fighting more than he ever did. The world took so much from him and now it took you too? Why should he care about anyone or anything if you weren’t there anymore.

He’d spend a lot of time at your grave. No talking, he’d just sit there and smoke a cigarette. Sometimes he’d silently cry, but he hates crying out in the open.

Dally would blame himself. It doesn’t matter how you passed away, he would look at every detail of the days leading up to your death and see if there was any moment where he could’ve done something to stop it. if it was a violent death, could he have stopped you from getting into that situation in the first place? if it was an accident, could he have stopped it from happening, could he have made it so that it was him instead?

Steve

Steve would be kind of like Dally. He’d hate and fight more than ever. How could the world be so cruel that he’d take you from him?

I feel like it could be his first proper experience with loss, which is different to the others that i’ve written about so far. He really wouldn’t know how to cope. he’d try to go on living, then he would shut down for a while, then he would probably just have to get out of town for a while.

I honestly think he’d do something drastic. Rob a gas station or snap and start a fight with his dad or something. He would get very reckless too. where he would be careful when competing in drag races, now he would speed up if anything.

He is so afraid of forgetting your face. He keeps a picture of you in his jacket pocket to make sure he doesn’t forget but he realises he’s starting to forget the smaller things like how you’d make this particular face when you’re being sarcastic, and how your face would light up when someone mentioned your favourite things.

Two-Bit

Two would start drinking even more, you were lucky to see him sober. He’d stop hanging out with the guys.

He would be angry for a while. Angry that you left him here alone. Of course he knows deep down that it’s not your fault but he can’t help it. Two probably went to your grave one day, drunker than ever. He started giving out that you left him and ended up throwing his bottle of beer at your headstone. That snapped him out of it. He picked everything up and cleaned the headstone best he could.

After the angry phase is gone he would start to write you letters filling you in on everything. He couldn’t bring himself to go to your gave so he just pretended you had moved far away. He puts them in a big box under his bed. He considered burning them, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it

He sometimes forgets you’re not there though. Say if he’s doing something he might yell “Y/N could you pass me the ___” then remember you’re not there and just sits down and cries, even a few years after.

Johnny

Johnny really can’t deal with it. With his parents being so bad and you being his main support, he couldn’t take it anymore.

I honestly think that he would run away, let everyone forget him. Sometimes he would consider the ways to see you again, but luckily someone always snaps him out of it.

He hangs out with the guys more than ever, it keeps him from shutting down completely. they become his main support, but he’s even more quiet, he sits a little outside of the group when in the curtis’ house.

After a few months of grieving he remembers a list you guys wrote about all your hopes and dreams. So he decides that he’s going to complete everything on it. He lives for the two of you.

Pony kept Johnny's jacket. He doesnt wear it often cause he doesn't want it to loose his smell.

He'd doodle Johnny's and Dal's face, scared to forget what they looked like. Instead, he slowly forgets the faces theyd make when they were happy, joing around, excited, etc.

He'd write letters to Johnny. Maybe they werent everyweek, but atleast once a month. He'd never deliver them, though.

He hardened. He 'got wise' like Dallas said.(" You better wise up, Pony. You better wise up, man. You get tough like me, and you don’t get hurt! You watch out for yourself, and nothing can touch you, man"). He did it without realising it.

You now how in the book Dallas was blonde? So blonde his hair was almost white? Ponyboy kept his hair bleached, but he grew it out longer. For Dallas. This is all i could think of for right now, but I might have more later lol.

I am screaming. Blond Pony is one of my favorite things and I love when people remember that he liked to draw. And getting tougher! Ugh, that’s real. I really, really dig that one-

Dillo looked up when he felt the the tap to his elbow and turned from the drink he was shaking, coming face to face with Ash. He grinned and stepped to her. “Whatcha need, baby?”

“Just wanted to say hi,” she murmured, slipping her hand into the curve of his arm to pull him a little closer.

He pressed a smiling kiss to her temple before pressing one to her cheek. “Well then. Hello to you, hon. Ya want a drink or something?”

Ash smiled and gave him a nod. “That’d be nice, my love.”

Dillo pressed another kiss to Ash’s cheek before waving her to the other side of the bar and turning to fix up her favorite drink.

Two-Bit Headcannon(s)

After Johnny and Dal's death, he worried about the littler things to get his mind off of it.

He never showed how upset he was infront of anyone, not his mom, the gang, his sister, teachers, no one.

He'd sit in his room, looking down at his black handled switch blade, trying to silently cry to not worry his mom or little sister.

He would skip school, or just not be mentally present in the classroom, causing his grades to become an 'F' instead of his 'C's and 'D's.

Before Johnny died, he'd drive himself, Johnny, and Ponyboy to school and if he didnt have his car, theyd walk together. But after, he'd wait around for Johnny at the Curtis house, Ponyboy sitting on the couch.

"Hey, where's Johnny?" He would ask, forgetting. But as soon as Ponyboy looked up at him, tears in those greenish-grey eyes of his, he'd remember.

He drinks more. He becomes the alchohol feind, but one night he lashes out, accidentally yelling at his younger sister or his mom, somehow thinking it was one of the boys.

He would realize, halfway through a mean sentence, what he was doing. He stood there, frightened at himself. He saw the tears running down his mother's face, and how scared his sister looked.

He ran to the empty lot and stayed there, scared that he'll lash out on Ponyboy.

The next day, he swore to himself to never drink that much again since he didn't want to be like Johnny's dad. He 'bought' a stuffed animal for his little sister, and something nice for his mom.

This wouldve been the year he finally graduated, actually wanting to graduate, but after their death he wasn't worried with graduating. He do some work, maybe one or two questions, but just.. gave up?

He eventually might've dropped out.

Even a year after Johnny and Dallas' death, in the early mornings, he'd go to the Curtis', expecting Johnny/Dallas to be there, but a rush of realization hit him instead.

Lemme tell you something-

Tim. Dallas. Sylvia. The cheating scandal. I’ve got a ton of thoughts but I’ve gotta clarify some stuff first.

I’m gonna be talking about True Canon, Sophie Canon, and Dillo Canon and I intend to make it very clear which is which, but y’know, don’t hate on me if I say something you don’t agree with. I’m just a dude running a blog, okay? If you don’t like it, you don’t gotta stick around, this is all just for fun and all interpretations.

I’ve got a lot to say so it’s going under a cut- sorry about that folks-

So! Let’s start with True Canon!

As far as I remember, cause I don’t have my book in hand at the moment, Dallas says that Sylvia’s been two-timing him while he’s in jail and that’s why they called things off. True Canon!Sylvia has a history of running around on Dallas and flirting with other people, for example Johnny. At the same time, True Canon!Tim is True Canon!Dally’s fre-enemy. Dal slashed his tires, Tim still visited him in the hospital.

As far as True Canon goes, as far as I remember True Canon to go, it never explicitly says who Sylvia was doing the two-timing with. Just that Sylvia was messing around while Dally was locked up. And that’s True Canon. Simple enough.

(Again this is all from memory but if I’m wrong, someone please correct me, please, I’m not joking-)

Now! Let me introduce you to Sophie Canon.

Written by my wonderful friend @sophie-i-guess13, Sophie has an extensive take on the inner workings between Sylvia, Dallas, and Tim. I’ve spent countless hours talking with her about how the three of them work, their history, their future. We’ve talked. A lot. And that’s not to say that I impacted Sophie Canon, she came up with almost everything and I cheered her on and fooled around with her ideas like they were my personal dolls

(I highly recommend reading everything she’s ever written I love all her pieces and she’s got a lovely writing style that I would kill for, check her out here and on her AO3, I’m not even joking, her works changed my whole outlook on the fandom)

But in Sophie Canon, Sylvia and Dallas have one of those on-again, off-again relationships where they break up every other week. Sylvia and Tim are also childhood friends. There’s break offs and AUs that she’s made too so that sorta changes thing, but at the baseline, Dallas and Sylvia are a problematic relationship and Tim and Sylvia always end up as an endgame relationship, no matter if it’s platonic or romantic.

In Sophie Canon, as far as I can remember, Sylvia never really cheats. Dallas’ is just very jealous and Sylvia knows that she gets attention from him if she flirts a little with other guys.

Sophie canon has greatly impacted and formed my opinion on this matter and is a big contributor to Dillo Canon.

Dillo Canon is exactly what it sounds like. My canon.

In Dillo Canon, Sylvia never cheated. Sylvia never cheated. Sylvia Never Cheated. SYLVIA NEVER CHEATED. And she definitely never did it with Tim.

In Dillo Canon, Sylvia and Tim and Dallas grew up together. They were buddies and Sylv and Dal did their off and on dating thing as they grew up and Sylv and Tim were friends long before Dal rolled into town and stayed friends long after he died.

Dal was jealous of the close bond Tim and Sylvia had and often accused them of having feelings for each other, even when Dal and Sylv were dating. He’s an insecure hood who’s had a rough life and a tough time with relationships, alright? No one said he was perfect.

So honestly? Here’s how it went down in Dillo Canon.

Dal came home from his stay in the pen, found Sylvia staying at Tim’s because she’s got shitty parents, just like everyone else, and Dal thought something was going on between them. So they broke up, Dal took his ring back, and that was that. They would’ve gotten back together within the next week or two because they always end up together again, no matter what either of them say <3

So….yeah!

Patience by Guns N Roses can be 2 things. Either Curly missing his partner in the reformitory, or Sodapop missing his family and his partner at war. But with Soda's, theres a follow up. November Rain by Guns N Roses. Patience isnt that sad, but with November Rain paired to it makes the song sadder. But, we can make this even more depressing with Live and Let Die. Specifically with Pre Chorus and Chorus. I just- augh. My mind cant quite with imaginging Curly sitting around in the reformitory, thinking about his lovely partner. I find it sweet. (Im personally imagining his lovely partner as Loop.) And with Sodapop? Him pulling out pictures of his brothers, his friends, and his girl everynight before bed. He thinks to himself "For them. Thats why im doing this." And it scares him that he wont be able to see them again, but he imagines hugging his brothers when returning home. He imagines cracking a beer with the boys and seeing the smiles on their faces when hes returned home. He's probably called his lovely partner when he can, and always says "We just need a little patience." Months pass while he was drafted, and he gets shot on the battlefield. His mind wonders back to his brothers, upset that he has to leave them behind especially after Johnny and Dallas. One day, theres a knock on The Curtis door. 2 Soldiers, both in formal unforms. No one ever knocks on the door, but Steve answers it. "Hello. This is the Curtis residence, correct? We are on the behlaf of the United States Army. May we come in?" They say, and Steve nods as he lets them in. Ponyboy, who was laying on the couch, sits up and turns off the TV. "Are you Darrel Curtis?" An officer asked Steve, to which he shook his head. "No, he's not here right now. He's working." "Please, call him. Its important that all close kin are here. When Darry arrived at his house, he wasnt expecting two military officers to be in his living room. "Darrel Curtis?" An officer asked, to which Darry slowly nodded "Whats going on?" "Please, sit down." Darry complied, wearily. "I am Corpral Jones, and this is Private Staples. " He finally introduced themselves as they both stood infront of the group of boys. "The commandant of the United States Army has entrusted us to express his deep regret that your brother, Sodapop Curtis, was killed in action in Veitnam. " "Live and let die"

Short explination: I dont think thats true. Stuff happens, but people don't know about it. Long Explination: I dont really think this is true. One of the latest things was a kid that killed her brother and blamed it on 'paranomal shit'. Happened in Tulsa, Jan 5. Oh and apparently a murder suspect that has been on the run for 13 years is finally arrested in Oklahoma. Those are just 2 examples. There are suprisingly alot of criminal things happening, but not as much as Ohio or New York, etc. Of course, you won't hear about it on the News unless you do a search on the internet or you watch Local Channels. I live in a small town, about 2 hours away from OKC. Gossip spreads like wildfire. Find out why someone was suspended, whole school now knows. Guy dies on the crossroads going into a slightly bigger town than where I live? People know it automatically. People are more interested on whats happening in/around the town their in unless it has something to do with murder. Things happen here in Oklahoma, but no one knows about them unless you search for it.
