My Taobao order arrived today and the boys got some snazzy new clothes and shoes. c:

Ken got a pair of plain black eyes to replace his grey ones, and I like them in him so much more. He also got a snazzy new black coat. I also got him a pair of glasses, but Jonathan has temporarily stolen them. Been thinking I’d like to get him new hair and maybe get him repainted; been really feeling like he deserves to be his best late 00s goth/j-pop doll self lmao.

Jonathan is also sporting some new shoes and big ol’ pants and I got a little soda cup as a free gift. c:

Shuu also got some shoes that are a bit more his size (they were a bitch to get on his honkin’ feet though……) as well as a new silly shirt. Also finally sueded his neck like I’ve been meaning to for months lmao.

Probably my favorite outfit and pictures I took of Jonathan, even now. He’s just so cute. T AT There really is just something special about old school BJDs; there’s just something about their more simplistic sculpting that I have come to appreciate more and more over the years of collecting.

Figured I’d start off my slow return to this doll blog with a picture of the last doll I posted pictures of here! xD

This is from when Jonathan (formerly known as Miles) got back home from being painted by Nocturne Doll Studio (formerly Shadowed Force Aesthetics). I had him styled as Ken Kaneki for a good while, but this year I snagged a Migidoll Jina head to make into him instead, and so Jonathan is back to his cute red-headed look. c:

Jonathan is one of the few dolls I own that doesn’t have a character he represents. Just got him because I liked the doll. xD

The new boy is slowly coming together. I’m really hype to eventually get him painted, though I haven’t yet decided on an artist to send him to. 🤔

I also haven’t decided on who he is either! For a while I was thinking I’d turn him into Conrad Queen (formerly a Bobobie Apollo), but now he just has a different feel. Part of me is now thinking the name Celeste would suit him, which was the name of my old Iplehouse Freezia’s brother and jfdklafdal. Yeah. I don’t know!

Surpriiiiise. A new doll has joined the crew! He’s an Iplehouse Soori and aaahhhh I love his old school looks. ; w ; Makes me real nostalgic.

This is my first big impulse buy in some time—as in this is a doll that I’d never considered getting before stumbling up on him for sale recently. XD All my other “impulse” buys in the last few years have pretty much all been dolls already on my wishlist, I’d just had plans to get them later on (but then discontinuations and whatnot forced my hand or I ended up happening to have the extra cash to splurge on an earlier than planned purchase). I think Naoko’s head was the last true impulse purchase I made, and that was a couple years ago. P;

Anywho, I was a little nervous about if I’d really like him in person or not or if his uneven yellowing would be more extreme than it seemed in photos and whatnot, but hot damn after giving him a good scrubbing, I’m in love! :D His uneven yellowing really isn’t all that bad once I cleaned him up. The most obvious thing is mainly just that his arms are a different shade than his body, but that I can easily live with. I already own a couple of dolls with some parts that don’t match their bodies at all, so this isn’t anything new. XD I might one day give him a proper spa day, but I’m in no rush.

At this point I mostly just want to get him a nice faceup and have a waist joint added to his torso (right now he just has a hip joint that works terribly), but that’ll have to wait until next year after the holiday rush has chilled out since I don’t really wanna send any doll parts out in the mail right now. I’ll have to settle on buying him an outfit + a wig for the time being.
