Il KF-21 lancia con successo il missile IRIS-T Dhiel Defence ha comunicato che in Corea del Sud il missile aria-aria a corto raggio IRIS-T (AIM-2000) è stato lanciato per la prima volta come missile guidato dal KF-21 di KAI, il caccia sudcoreano di quarta generazione e mezza attualmente in fase di sviluppo. Questo lancio di prova segna un’altra pietra miliare significativa nel più importante programma di caccia coreano. Diehl Defence to integrate IRIS-T Missile to the FA-50 and KF-21 Aircraft

The German Company Diehl Defence and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to integrate their Infra-Red Imaging System-Tail/Thrust vector-controlled (IRIS-T) Short Range Air to Air Missile (SRAAM) into the FA-50 Fighting Eagle and KF-21 Boramae Aircraft.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) currently operates a dozen of the FA-50PH Fighting Eagle Aircraft, and also uses the AIM-9L/I-1 Sidewinder Missile which is also made by Diehl Defence. The IRIS-T Missile is also already integrated into the JAS-39C/D Gripen which the Philippines is reportedly getting soon.

So this is a good Prospect for the IRIS-T, if the Philippines does get the Gripen soon and the Boramae later then that will be three Platforms in the Philippines that can use it.

Traguardi sostanziali per il programma HYpersonic DEFence Il programma di intercettazione HYDEF ((HYpersonic DEFence), in risposta alla richiesta del Fondo Europeo per la Difesa del 2021,  sul tema “Interceptor endoatmosferico” nella categoria “Protezione contro le minacce aeree ad alta velocità”. ha raggiunto importanti traguardi nel trovare una risposta europea ai missili ipersonici. HYDEF è strettamente legato al programma PESCO dell’UE «Timely Warning and Interception with Space based TheatER Surveillance» (TWISTER) e si occupa dello sviluppo di un concetto complessivo di intercettore endoatmosferico per la difesa aerea.
