January 01 2021 and I popped open this #glendalough 13 year old #irishwhiskey finished in a #mizunara cask and it is tasteeeee. One of the most exciting #whiskey brands I have met this year has to be @glendaloughdistillery and now trying this 25 year #triplecask I am blown away. It’s a Double distilled #Irishmalt, 15 year first-fill #Bourbon cask, 10 years first-fill oloroso sherry and then a little bit less then a year in virgin Irish oak cask. First release in their Connoisseurs Collection, released once a year, oldest, rarest and most unique #whiskeys they make. Oh my oh my. Wow. #whiskywednesday and coming in at no 4 of my top 10 #whiskies I drank in 2020 is this #glendaloughwhiskey 25 year old #irishwhiskey. Initially this #whiskey is matured in heavily charred ex #bourbon before being transferred into an #olorososherry cask, and then finally aged in a virgin oak cask. It’s got so many layers of flavor to it, a perfect sweetness and a nice bit of spice. #whiskywednesday and last weeks chat with @doublemeasuredonal from @glendaloughdistillery was amazing. I love learning about #whiskey, the integrity of the juice, the heritage of the distillery and innovation and #glendaloughwhiskey checks all those boxes. On top of that Donal is one cool cat, we got into their pot still #irishwhiskey finished in Irish Oak that grows close to the distillery and the finish it gives their whiskey. Hell I drank almost a third of the bottle on the call, it’s that good.
