#ra speaks#personal#poetry#kinda? idk.#I have an obsessive personality. before I was diagnosed w autism OCD was assumed.#i know a lot of people who feel this moral duty to constantly expose themselves to the worst of humanity as an act of witness#but that can hurt you in the long run if you’re not careful#is it the trauma and horror others are enduring? no. but it can seriously impede your ability to be of actual help to those people#if you’re so consumed by the horror and trauma of others that it paralyzes you#if you’re starting to feel overwhelmed stop staring at the horror. you have the luxury of taking a break.#but use that break productively - share recipes and art and culture. inform others be active in your community.#and dear fucking god hold onto hope that the horror will end and that there will be peace and joy once again.#or something I’m rambly today look away
