Stoick handed the telescope-thingy to Valhallarama because he couldn't look anymore.

Her arm trembling very, very slightly, that iron woman Valhallarama put the telescope-thingy up to her eye. "The dragon seems to be about to fire..." she said grimly.

#just found some more storyboards with a rlylyyyy nice art style #not gonna post them bc theyre not toooo differetn from the final film and also ive spammed so much already.#but theyre so cuteeeee.#the bedroom bratt scene is here imagined as in the kitchen. and extended quite a bit #dru is very good here. in my opinion #also the storyboarded dinner scene . veryyyy good #great comedic timing and i like the punchline of them being able to just abt hold in their laughter #until someone says literally anything #the only thing ill say abt that scene is i wasnt rlly sure whyyyyy the girls were so... unimpressed?#like obvs their impressions were awful and its not even a rlly funny joke #but they r happyyyyy.#and their day was ok too so not like they were mad from that #idk if smth else got cut in between but it felt a little odd. like its fun to see ppl having fun esp for someone like gru. to be laughing #idk . maybe its me. alwasy felt a little strange to me

#My art style keeps changing and every time I do something new #I yearn for the days of old #where i want to draw what i used to draw like but also loathe the anatomical inconsistencies #i think 2020 may have had my best works which sucks because i'm on the decline #text post #lana please shut up #i also want to ask why there are mmx fans that keepndrawing charactera with #odd skin tones that are very drastically different from canon #it confuses me greatly #is it from an au or some sort of fic that isnpopular on here #or a fanon type thing because it seems to be consistent between select artists #i think skin color alteration is very strange on canon colors #i just end up collecting characters with my skin color like miruko or grey instead of altering things #its odd but fine i think i just dont understand the motivation behind it #actually it's kinda reverse of what artists do to faputa on pixiv #it makes me feral when people make faputa reg's skin color and then go “it's the lighting”#as if to say if you put me under a white light then i too shall be white in skin tone #or god forbid they have someone say indoors and become an entirely different race #maybe both ways makes me mad idk #i just hope it isnt the same thing that happened with dave strider back in homestuck days #it might be and i'm in denial #i will probably stick to canon skin colors for my fanart #unless the skin tone varies in the ref images then i'll bullshit it #adding tags is like whispering #but most of my characters (human looking) have whacky skin tones #by which i mean theyre usually everything but pale #but at the same time #the only pale character i can think of is the stark white one that is based on 0² #and i guess my tiger character but he has vitiligo since he was made Back Then when it was a fad #everyone else is fucking green or orange or somethign

I suddenly remembered this old oc i had a few years ago and realized that i had never really drawn the other character for the story I had started to develop in my head

The story/plot is still uuhh being developed, so it's mostly these two and a bit of world building lol

The world being sort of steampunk/ a little bit dystopian. The world is filled with automatons, have for hundreds of years. Early automatons were bulky and not very human shaped, but became more human looking over time. Although some are still bulky, they have jobs that are usually either heavy lifting (like construction or manufacturing) or appliances (they're basically walking ovens/washers/the occasional television). A Lot of the human automatons are used by the government and military, but automatons are almost everywhere.

The robot above is very old and is a bit rusty, and was shutdown for a while, so he's got some moss on him. He's been around a long time and has done repairs on himself. But he can't fix everything and so he has a bit of a memory problem. Most automatons have some kind of purpose or job. But he doesn't have one? At least not that he remembers. He tends to wander and just help people with various tasks. (such tasks include anything from helping a cat out a tree, to helping repairing a building, to stopping a mugging). Eventually he meets Jess

Jess is a kid that has been running around the city for several years. They were abandoned as a baby and never cared much for the homes or orphanages they were placed in. Jess is very good at mechanics and loves to steal. They are a gremlin despite most of the art making them look serious lol. The Automaton doesn't have a name, so Jess calls it many names: Rust Bucket, HunkAJunk, Tin Can, but most often he is called Scrappy (names start out purposefully insulting but become fond over time). At some point when Jess is helping him with repairs, they find the letters B E N on him and decide that Ben is his official name (but still calls him Scrappy) For the majority of the story Jess is actually younger than the art, around 12-14 years old. They ended up looking older when i was drawing lol
