Mỹ là một trong các thị trường xuất khẩu hàng hóa quan trọng của Việt Nam khi mà nhiều mặt hàng có thể đem về nguồn doanh thu lớn như: - Gạo; - Cà phê; - Tiêu (hồ tiêu); - Trái cây; - Dệt may, sợi; - Giày dép; - Sản phẩm gỗ nội thất; - Thủy hải sản; - Máy vi tính; - Sản phẩm điện tử và linh kiện; - Máy móc và phụ tùng; - Thức ăn gia súc và nguyên liệu 2. Lựa chọn hình thức vận chuyển hàng đi Mỹ bởi khoảng cách địa lý chênh lệch lớn, hình  thức chuyển hàng nhanh bằng hàng không được sử dụng thường xuyên nhất khi gửi hàng hóa, bưu phẩm từ Việt Nam sang Mỹ. Gửi hàng hóa đi Mỹ bạn có thể lựa chọn một trong hai cách: vận chuyển bằng đường hàng không và vận chuyển bằng đường biển. Mỗi hình thức vận chuyển sẽ mang những đặc điểm riêng. So với cách vận chuyển bằng đường biển, thì cách vận chuyển bằng đường hàng không có thời gian vận chuyển nhanh hơn, các thủ tục và quy trình giao nhận hàng cũng ít phức tạp hơn. Nhưng chi phí vận chuyển lại đắt đỏ hơn so với vận chuyển bằng đường biển và chỉ phù hợp với các mặt hàng có kích thước và trọng lượng nhỏ, thời hạn bảo quản ngắn.
3. Vận chuyển hàng đi Mỹ mất bao lâu? Mỗi dịch vụ có thời gian vận chuyển hàng tới Mỹ khác nhau như sau vì điều này phụ thuộc vào loại dịch vụ khi bạn lựa chọn. 3.1 Dịch vụ chuyển phát nhanh thông thường Hàng hóa/bưu phẩm của bạn  được chuyển ngay tới địa chỉ nhận tại Mỹ chỉ khoảng 2 – 3 ngày làm việc thông qua dịch vụ này, và bạn sẽ có ưu đãi khoảng 30 – 50% cước phí so với khi gửi trực tiếp qua hãng. 3.2 Dịch vụ chuyển phát tiết kiệm Thời gian trung bình hàng hóa/bưu phẩm tới tay người nhận khoảng 10 – 15 ngày hoặc có thể lâu hơn tùy thuộc theo các điều kiện tác động tại thời điểm gửi hàng. Dịch vụ này dùng đường thủy làm phương thức kết nối chính. Hoặc đường thủy kết hợp cùng đường hàng không hoặc đường bộ. 4.  Gửi hàng đi Mỹ cần chuẩn bị thủ tục gì? Để gửi hàng đi Mỹ thuận lợi, bạn phải cung cấp những thông tin như sau để thuận tiện trong quá trình giao phát hàng hóa và khai báo hải quan, gồm có: - Thông tin đầy đủ người nhận tại Mỹ (Họ và tên đầy đủ, địa chỉ chính xác – số nhà, tên đường, khu, thành phố, nước đến…) - Thông tin khai báo hàng: lô hàng gồm có những gì, khối lượng hàng hóa. - Thông tin người gửi: địa chỉ nhà, số điện thoại liên hệ Chúng ta nên cung cấp thêm thông tin để công ty vận tải biết chính xác kiện hàng gửi đi thuộc loại nào(Hàng hóa thông thường, hàng giá trị cao, hàng điện lạnh, điện tử, chất lỏng, hóa chất hay hàng thủy tinh, dễ vỡ…) để đóng gói, đảm bảo an toàn cho hàng hóa

5. Bộ chứng từ cần có để vận chuyển hàng hóa đi Mỹ Trước khi xuất khẩu hàng hóa sang Mỹ, bạn nên chuẩn bị trước bộ chứng từ cơ bản như dưới đây:
- Invoice (Hóa đơn thương mại). - Packing list (Bảng kê đóng gói). - Sale contract (Hợp đồng bán hàng). - Giấy chứng nhận liên quan (nếu có). 6.  Những thủ tục kê khai khi xuất khẩu hàng hóa sang Mỹ - Kê khai hải quan tự động (Automatic Manifest System – AMS) Theo quy định, doanh nghiệp cần kê khai thông tin về lô hàng nhập khẩu vào Mỹ cho Hải quan Mỹ trong vòng 48 tiếng trước khi tàu vận chuyển ở cảng khởi hành đến Mỹ. Nhà xuất khẩu phải kê khai thông tin này ngay ở cảng xếp hàng. - Kê khai an ninh cho nhà nhập khẩu (Import Security Filing – ISF) Mỹ cũng yêu cầu nhà nhập khẩu phải hoàn thành thủ tục kê khai an ninh dành cho nhà nhập khẩu (ISF). Thông tin kê khai ISF này, người nhập khẩu phải thực hiện khai báo cho Hải quan Mỹ 48 tiếng trước khi tàu ở cảng khởi hành vận chuyển đến Mỹ. Thủ tục ISF yêu cầu người nhập khẩu phải cung cấp thông tin thêm như nhà sản xuất, thông tin nhà nhập khẩu, mã số hàng hóa, người vận tải đóng hàng vào container… - Soi container (X-ray) Hải quan Mỹ sẽ thực hiện soi container nào mà họ nghi ngờ mang vấn đề về an ninh hoặc thực hiện soi ngẫu nhiên. Quá trình soi container này có thể tiến hành ở cảng chuyển tải hoặc cảng đích đến ở Mỹ.
