Which is more important? Her leg or her fingers? This whole not-quite-zombies thing had been kind of fun when it started, but as the days dragged on, Uzi found that being trapped in an apocalypse actually kind of sucks. Moreso when her super-awesome Solver powers have slowly been degrading, but by bit, until she actually has to choose which of her limbs to keep intact with her regeneration.
At least she found V. She was worried that- well, not worried, it's just jarring to see her every day and suddenly be separated for almost two weeks. That's all. It's not like she cares or anything. Stinky.
The keycard drops from her oil-stained fingers, and she groans before bending down to pick it up. Why are her hands shaking so much? It must be because she's lost so much oil, not like she's afraid or worried or stressed or whatever. Behind her, she can hear V working to defend them both, to buy them a few more seconds so Uzi can get them into the train to the Isle of Glass. Islands being safer is a staple of zombie stories, right? They'll be okay up there. They gotta be.
The reader beeps as Uzi swipes the card, and she can hear the door unlocking. With a vent of relief, she pushes the door open, looking over her shoulder. "V! It's open, let get the hell outta here!"
But V is probably enjoying the bloodbath. It's hot. No it isn't. She takes her sweet time heading for the door, and Uzi slams it shut and engages the locks as soon as she's through. There's a part of her that wants to rest for a minute, to slump against the wall and spend some time just cycling oxygen, but they can rest when they're safe. They'll be safe. Uzi won't let anything happen to them.
"C'mon, let's go. Train's right through here, and we'll be home free," she says, limping down the maintenance hall. "Oh, maybe there's some oil around here? This is where they do repairs and stuff, I think. I could really use a drink..."
She stumbles over her injured leg and braces herself against the wall. Her hand is missing half its fingers. How did that happen again? She can't recall right now. There'll be plenty of time to unpack the trauma later. Let's not think about it right now. Let's keep moving. Let's survive.
But Uzi doesn't move. "Gimme... Gimme a sec," she groans, leaning against the concrete. "I'm good. I'm okay. Just... hurts a bit."

Somewhere in Fibonacci, maybe? Makes sense, with how tall those buildings could be. Uzi remembers hearing something about teleporters, so as long as those are still functioning, those buildings should make a pretty safe holdout. Might have to clear out any glitched that are already there, but how hard could that be?
Uzi frowns for a moment. She's usually too genre savvy to think things like that, so hopefully it doesn't come back to bite her.
"Well, it's a plan. Let's go before they mutate again and get jetpacks or something," says Uzi, taking Mika's hand. "Just let me know if it gets too hot."
Her internal temperature isn't too high right now, it should be fine. Grasping the other girl tightly, Uzi gives a few experimental flaps to judge the power she'll need before taking off into the sky. From this height, it's hard to tell anything's wrong with the city at all; there's not much visible destruction, and no plumes of smoke or anything like that. You'd almost think it was just another regular day in Spirale if it weren't for the dark, twitching masses of people.
"Kind of a boring zombie apocalypse, huh?" she says, coming to a hover. "Not even any cool blood splatters or chainsaw attacks. Well, I guess there's still time."
Uzi takes a moment to scan the cityscape. "So, uh... Where we goin'?"
"O-Oh I see..."
There was an influx of embarrassment hearing the words come from Uzi but she still did her best to try and not blush too much. The two of them really were helping each other out in a really unfortunate situation. Maybe the two really did have that "protective" instinct for each other even if they did fight and complain a lot.

"I mean it's about a few dozen stories up." Mika said approaching Uzi as she glanced over the side as well. "They haven't been able to get up here yet and we aren't too high up. So as long as nobody else let them in we should be fine..."
And even then it was probably only a few more glitched then usual. Nothing the two couldn't handle like they had so far.
"Seeing us is different from actually getting to us." The pink haired girl stretched out her hand towards the drone. "It's our only real place to go now isn't it?"

This feels right. Powers, wings, regeneration; even though the [NULL] command still isn't totally restored, it's nice for Uzi to be able to sort through her own code without seeing the BLOCKED BY USER: [UNKNOWN] popping up when she tries to do cool stuff. That's really all it takes for her to side with NULL (didn't even think about the names matching!), a couple of cool gifts and a middle finger raised towards the Island Stars. Call her shallow, but eh. She's in high school, what do you expect?
All she's gotta do is keep the cables intact. No one told her if it had to be all of them or not, but she's taken up post inside one of the underground parts of the city, where a thick length of rubber and wiring snakes its way through the dirt. And the best part about being a drone is that she can do this all day, literally.
Perched upon a rocky outcropping, Uzi watches the only way in or out of her chosen station. It's only a matter of time before something happens, right? In the meantime she's playing Bubble Bobble.
Wait, there's footsteps. Time to get to work.
With a wave of her hand, a chunk of rebar dislodges itself from the wall and sails through the air, embedding itself in the floor right in front of the new arrival. "You're good there!" calls Uzi, not descending. "Right where I can see you, yeah? Don't want you getting any ideas!"
Hold on, she recognizes this one. "Oh, hey Jersey! Sorry about almost turning you into a kebab. Just kinda a hectic time. Can't be sure who you can trust, right?"

"Oh, hey Frye. Check this out!"
A brick lifts off from the ground and hurls itself through the shop window, propelled through the air by a triangular violet hologram. Uzi cackles as the glass shatters, altering some of the glitchy entities shambling around at the end of the streets. Paying them no heed, Uzi climbs in through the now-empty window frame and begins rummaging around. A few moments later, she kicks the front door open, throwing her arms wide.
"You're free now! Go and wreak havoc in this new apocalypse!" she shouts. A few quiet moments later, a swarm of small, disc-shaped... vacuums come rolling out of the building. A quiet whirring can be heard from each of them as they make their way down the sidewalks towards robo-god knows where.
"See? Figured this would be the perfect chance to rescue my imprisoned AI brethren," says Uzi, still grinning. "And yeah, I know they're not, like conscious AI, but still! Principle of the thing, right?"
The distorted voices from down the street grow louder, and Uzi glances over her shoulder at the approaching mob. They're not fast, but... they're coming. "Walk and talk?" she says. "Away from the don't-call-them-zombies?"

There's one of those drop towers built in Golden's boardwalk, not too far from the big wheel. Uzi alights upon it, still holding onto Kookie so as not to drop her precious cargo. Even from this height, the shouts of fear and joy from all the people below are easy to hear, but no one seems to notice the odd pair perched so high up.
"Never been to this part of the city before," says Uzi. "Sea breeze doesn't agree with me, usually. But it feels nice. Didn't know what I was missing, I guess."
It's a nice view from up here. The ocean to one side with the Isle of Glass off on the horizon, and the city on the other, with the different wards' architecture all on display. Giving a content sigh, Uzi lifts off again before finally dropping down to ground level. Once there, she finally lets go of Kookie so the little bear can have a bit more freedom.
"One tour of the city, as promised. You had fun, right? Don't need to answer that, of course you did! But while we're here..." Glancing over her shoulder, there's some rides, some arcade games, and the sun's not even close to setting, so they've got all the time in the world. "You're up for more, right?"
OH! she thinks she knows what Uzi is talking about! They probably spin and have lots of pretty pretty views! It's all the more reason that Kookie is even more excited!
"YAY! GOLDEN!" she says, throwing her little paws up but only to grip back onto Uzi's arms. "Whaaaa!!!!!!"
Luckily Uzi is fast and they arrive and Golden! "Oohoohoho! Yes! Haha! All my stuffing is inside! None slipped out!" Oh, Kookie Beary is absolutely giddy!

CYOR 2024 Info
For Choose-Your-Own-Rerun 2024, Uzi will be headed to Security Breach Pt 1! She thinks both sides are lying, but she's not so much pro-GPU and NULL as she is anti-Island Stars. She's fine with risking erasure, and is mostly looking to just inconvenience the Stars as much as she can while she can. In other words, she's trying to prevent people from cutting the tubes!
So it could either be a fight scene if your character is allied with the Stars, or they can have a philosophical discussion if your character is also with GPU. Either way, like this post for a starter! Cap of two!

Uzi Doorman - Alternative Allegory Information -Sonic the Hedgehog AU-
All middle school kids had Sonic OCs. Uzi was no exception.
For this event, Uzi the Worker Drone is now Uzi the Crow, from a Sonic the Hedgehog AU! She will be aware of the transformation from her usual self, and is really excited to finally have her powers back. Plus, she gets to do cool human-ish stuff like eat food and breathe. That's fun too.
What she doesn't quite realize is that she's still a robot underneath her feathery outer layer; otherwise her powers wouldn't work at all. They why isn't super important, but she's too caught up in her cool self-insert brought to life to pay close attention.
I'm just gonna use her regular icons, but here a visual aid:

Really, she just wants to know if it's safe to talk about burning down the festering core of the city and inciting some kind of robot-led rebellion from the ashes. Maybe save that for their second meeting? Or at the very least, it's good to know that even the Island Stars need to outsource sometimes. Could be a good in if they ever need a super-cool hacker robot.
"You're literally the first lawyer I've ever met, so I'll take your word for it. Didn't really 'em where I come from," says Uzi, watching him pack. It all seems a little excessive for a field trip, but what does she know about law stuff? "But I guess if someone ever gives me legal trouble, I'll know where to go." It's nice to have a- can she think of Aurelius as an ally, or is he just doing his job?
Uzi's wings twitch- they didn't use to do that, how does she stop it?- and she nods again, perhaps a little more excitedly than she meant to. "No, I really want- I wanna see it today, if I can. They've got... some class sign-ups and today is the last day for some of 'em, so..."
And now her feathers are ruffling again, and she wishes she didn't have so many automatic reactions. "I'd offer to fly you, but..." She looks Aurelius up and down, frowning. "Not sure this body's built for heavy lifting like the old one was."
「✧」 Aurelius laughs—it's warmer, when he's human like this, more full of mirth and the understanding of what humor's supposed to be.
"I think I owned a firm at one point—inherited from my father." The memories of that are a little fuzzy.
"But ever since coming here, I've been working independently. Sometimes that involves picking up cases for the city, so you could call me their part-timer?"
"A lawyer wouldn't be worth his attorney's badge if he couldn't play both sides, hm?"
He's already starting to pack up his things, ordering them neatly in the leather briefcase he's picked up from the shelf behind him.
"There's still some time before the museum closes today. Did you want to make a rush for it, or schedule another time?" He checks his watch and calculates the time. "Next bus is in 10 minutes. If we catch it and make it in, you'll still have time to see your art."

Feels like a lot of people have been losing things in the tumult of... whatever you'd want to call this. Perhaps you could call it some kind of... different story? No, that's dumb.
Uzi shakes her head, remembering she's supposed to be looking for a dragon instead of musing about the city. She cranes her head up to see Jersey's phone, nodding. "Yeah, stairs are for chumps. Lesee what we got..."
Ah. She knows this one. Wasn't super into the series but it's not totally alien. Uzi decides not to mention it, but looks back out over the city. "Don't think we'll need to worry too much about this one flying away. Call it a gut feeling."
She clambers up on the ledge that surrounds the roof, looking down at the city blow. Pedestrians wander about, oblivious or uncaring of the dragon loose in the city, and Uzi wishes she still had her suite of optics options. "Maybe there in that dumpster? No, that's a cat. Ugh, I would've bought some frickin' binoculars if I'd know I'd be playing lost-and-found all weekend."
A flash of green movement draws her attention, and Uzi points down at the backlot of some kind of restaurant. "Is that it? Probably not a cat, they're usually not green, right?"
"It's all good no real lasting harm done. 'Sides it would've taken me a lot longer to get up here all alone."
It might've been a tad bit harder to spot who they needed to but this was some much needed space to see the entire city from. On top of a pretty good view for everything else going on in the city. Still sightseeing was for later, there was a lost individual on the loose somewhere here...
"As for who we're looking for they look like this." NJ said before taking out her phone, showing a picture of the creature she took a few hours prior to all of this happening. Not the best photograph ever but it still got the point across.

"Like I said I don't know if they could sprout wings at any moment. The only time I would've ever met one of these creatures would've been behind in front of a screen or a movie. So I guess anything is possible..."

They were both outcasts, that was it. The drones Uzi worked with regarded her as an annoyance, always asking things like "Can you turn down your music?" or "Do you have any friends to talk about this stuff with?" They don't like her, but that's fine, she doesn't need them! And while Cyn has a few other drones she's close with, most of the others, and nearly all of the humans, think of her as just defective. Uzi can't help but wonder why Cyn hasn't been discarded, with all the issues she has. She's seen other drones scrapped for less, so maybe one of the higher-ups has a soft spot for her?
The stress fracture definitely comes from some kind of impact, but Uzi can't prove anything yet. One of these days, she'll crack the Grand Elliot's firewalls and access the security cams, find the proof she needs, and...
And what? It's not like anyone cares. No one who can do anything about it, anyways.
"I-I told you to stop calling me that..." mutters Uzi, a flush on her cheeks. "Whatever! Not like I actually like it or anything! But if it makes you happy, I guess it's fine..."
Cyn's definitely older than her, but maybe there's some credence to those threats of being reset? Uzi doesn't like to think about how her entire sense of self is dependent on satisfying some nebulous bottom line. She rises to her feet, kicking the toolbox to the side of the room as she stretches her joints. "It could be this one, if all the humans died," she says. "We'll overthrow our creators and take it all for ourselves! We just need... I dunno, a big pandemic, or a core collapse, or something. Never say never."
But it feels so far away. It feels like this is the most they can have, just moments of peace squirreled away where humans don't think to look. Even if she doesn't like her coworkers, she knows they feel the same; not a single worker drone is happy about their life in Spirale. Well, maybe aside from that maid with the pigtails, but screw her. Uzi wants that life, and she'll take it even if she has to pry it from the frozen, skeletal hands of her former masters. It's the least she can do for Cyn.
"You done for the day? Let's get outta here," says Uzi, holding her hand out. "I got some oil back at the drone housing, and my dad's working an overnight shift. You know what that means: The next Friday the 13th!"
θ Cyn didn't "work properly". She understood that was how humans saw her. They saw her presence as detrimental, and yet they made no efforts to fix her. Uzi could repair her neck until the robo-cows came home, but ultimately it wouldn't matter so long as her owners didn't spend the money in to replace the parts properly. Nonetheless, she wouldn't say no to having it temporarily fixed and sat there quietly while adjustments were made.
"Yes. Very MYS-TERI-OUS!" She chimed in agreement, mostly because she wasn't able to speak the actual answer. She'd been forbidden from speaking of those "incidents" with others by the same owners that were causing the damage in the first place. Deep down she'd hoped someone would one day figure it out on their own.
Cyn rolled her her neck on the repaired joint. It definitely had stung a little, but she shook it off. It wasn't audible, but there was a click in the rotation that the drone could sense. That was the real problem area, but Uzi was right to point out that she needed to see an actually technician. "Thank. You. It feels a LITTLE better. But seeing Big Sis Uzi always makes me feel BETTER. Slight smile!"
She tried to take Uzi's words to heart. Humans were just like that. They didn't grasp that drones had wills and feelings of their own. or maybe they did, but they feigned ignorance. "I-wonder-if-there is a WORLD where drones a-a-are treated better? But that feels like Make Believe."

"Oh you know. Feather boas, raven skull necklaces, long black nails, that kind of thing." Uzi waves her hand uncertainly, wondering where she can buy a necklace like that. "But if people wanna make fursonas, well. Clearly I can't judge."
Not that she had a choice in the matter, but still.
"I could carry you. Maybe? Most likely. No, yeah, I could do it." She does a few quick mental calculations; worker drone Uzi could definitely do it, and raven Uzi... probably could? It's just one guy, how much could he weigh? "Probably won't be able to go too fast, but if it's your first time, that's probably for the best."
She gives her wings a few test flaps, finding the familiar sensation comforting. They're a little different from Solver wings, but wings are wings, right? If nothing else, she has confidence in her own skills.
"Tell you what, we'll trade. Gimme the donut and I'll fly you wherever you like. Well, not anywhere- be reasonable about it."
Hiyori laughed at the use of trendsetter. "Hm, you think more people that look like birds will arrive now, or more will turn into birds when they weren't before? Either way, I'm looking forward to it♪"
He moved his hand slightly as he spoke, causing him to recall the doughnut. He brought it to his mouth to take another bite, looking at her with a mild sense of approval. "I can imagine," he said cheerfully about the feeling good nature of flying. He had something similar: returning to the version of himself that felt at home in the sea, gliding along underwater in a way humans could never understand.
"How do you propose to show me? Taking off by yourself, or carrying me along with?" her appraising look didn't get past him, even as he busied himself politely chewing away before speaking.

Answering a question with an unrelated question, so that's how this interaction is gonna go. Uzi can't hep but roll her eyes; first she was getting questions about being a robot, and now she's getting questions about being not-a-robot.
"If I gotta give you the whole spiel, fine. You know how this city is insane, right? Well, I didn't always look all cool and feathery and stuff, I used to look cool and made of aluminium alloy. I was a robot, and robots don't need to eat food, obviously, so no, not right."
She leans back on the bench, sighing. Better to not mention that she eats batteries and oil sometimes. And also people. "And I'm not gonna start arguing semantics, but I was still technically alive, so I guess this is a new thing for both of us."
She finally looks back over at the woman. "So, the tee-ell dee-arr is that I have literally never eaten anything before and I was hoping you'd have recs. But if you'd rather ask more questions, I can just find someone else. Because I can fly too, and I'll toss that factoid in for free, because I'm feeling so generous."
Her eyes flick to the marshmallow still in the woman's hand. Maybe she could just Solver it into her own hand and be on her way.
💧 "Marshmallows "never really came up"? Okay." It was such a weird statement that the prosecutor didn't really know what to do with it. That was only the tip of the iceberg in the end, because the crow continued on with an even more ludicrous statement. "What's good... food?"
Even though Uzi had tried to backpedal, Furina was already making a scrunched up face of confusion at her. "You have eaten food before, right?" She was able to read through the lines well enough. That wasn't a question you'd ask, at least in that way out of the gate, if you'd never eaten before.
"Things typically die when they don't eat. So how could that be possible?"

Pokémon? Wow, how long has it been since she watched that one? She doesn't even recognize this one, and they're well over 10k total 'mons in the 3070s.
"C'mon, how long have you been here that you think an anthropomorphic crow is surprising?" scoffs Uzi. "That's like, an ordinary Wednesday in this messed-up city. Next you're gonna be like 'Aah, who put this big hole here?' or 'Oh no, why is there a poorly-cropped .jpeg over the eclipse?'"
Is this appropriate behavior for a witch queen? Royalty is supposed to have some kind of decorum, right? Ooh, maybe it's more of a self-claimed title instead of a bloodline thing; Uzi can always retcon it a little bit if she needs to.
"I said I just got them back, because even you've gotta know they take stuff away from you when you get here, like when your dad grounds you even though you haven't done anything wrong, 'cuz it was just a little fire- Ugh, nevermind." Rolling her eyes, Uzi extends three fingers and flicks her wrist. At her motion, a nearby trashcan leaps into the air before landing in front of the boy with a loud crash.
"There, see that? Powers. I'd be insulted, but I understand your feeble human mind might not be able to comprehend what I'm capable of." Even she can't totally understand it, sometimes. "But if you beg, I might just forgive ya. You know, if I'm feeling generous."
"Uh.. yeah! Some of 'em! I can even show you my PokeDex if you wa--"
"Mega.. huh??" sharing their confusion, both trainer and Pokemon passed each other a glance; tilting their heads before finding Uzi again. "Hold on! Ceruledge can't even use Mega Evolution-- and look, we're not gonna battle you if you're not a Pokemon.. or if y'don't have any. I was just surprised t'see you, that's all."
After a moment, though, things started to seem like they were clearing up between the two.. at least, somewhat. Lloyd was inclined to believe the girl, that she really was just a talking animal he hadn't met yet, but something about the way she was gloating made him think twice. Crossing his arms, the brunette raised a brow, while Ceruledge watched with caution.
"Witch queen, huh? Pretty cool title, if y'ask me! But if you're some all-powerful queen, how come you just got powers now? Shouldn't you 've had 'em for a long time?"
Was she lying about realizing things had gotten swapped around..? .. well, there wasn't really any harm in it, but he was curious about how far she would go.

It would be hard for Uzi to forget the first human she's ever met, even if he looks... different now. "Oh, Hawks. Long time no see!" She smiles for a moment before remembering her role as a sullen teenager, and then forces her face back to neutral.
Actually, she's somewhat surprised he recognized her so easily. Is her bird-sona really so predictable? Maybe she should just lean into this. "Ooh, we match now!" she says, not trying to stop her smile this time. "But sure, I'm down. Just don't complain if I school ya, heheh!"
Sunset Circuit is the boomer nostalgia place, right? And bird wings can't be too different from Solver wings, so this should be an easy win.
With a flap of her wings, she's in the air and looking down at Hawks. "Ego boost and a free lunch? No take-backs!"
@bitemedotmp3
「𓆄」 "Eyyy, kid. Been a hot sec. Sorry, been a bit busy on my end." No matter the universe, Hawks certainly was busy, whether it be with pro-hero work, or alternatively at current: mail deliveries. It's all it's own type of hero work!
"Wanna go for a race around Sunset Circuit? I've been itching for some good competition. I'll even buy you lunch, no matter the outcome. Wha'd'ya say!"
